Out here on the periphery, you see strange things. We caught rumor of a cache that could help keep the lights on...keep the ammo bins full...keep us fighting. The planet didn't have name, just a series of numbers. From the reports we knew the volatile ionic storms would neutralize our PPC and ordnance capabilities but the drop scattered our forces further than expected.
Battle and Chosin lances linked up while Able made the best of the misdrops for some initial scouting. They soon began reporting that we weren't alone. Able leader Cody, call sign Locuck, was fiddling with the Raven 3L's sensor suites through the ion storms...lots of interference but we kept picking up references to "clans" and "Diamond Shark". Must have been some other mercs looking for the cache...
The fight was hard and there was something...off...about their technology. We never did get a good sensor read and through the winds, dirt, and fuzzy HUD...you had to just forget all visual identification. Just fire at the red box...
It was probably nothing. We got the cache, our informant will get a cut, our families will be fed. What else can Cameron's Highlanders ask for?
