How does one become a member of the 331st?

I have experience of battletech from the TT game, Mechwarrior Dark Age, and Battletech Firestorm. Heck, in Battletech Firestorm I have a patch that I was given by Cyd to show that I claimed victory in the Tribe Trials that they do. If you would like I can post the picture of it as well to show that I ain't kidding about it.

Also, I know it aint much, but this pilot is from the state of Minnesota as well.
