Then why not give it hitpoints and allow us to shoot it out of the sky like any other drone? We can shoot down other drones that give a viewing advantage...why not the one the hovers conveniently above a 'mech head?

No. No. NO. It defeats the entire purpose of 3PV, which is to get newbies accustomed to piloting a 'mech. Everyone needs to stop suggesting this.

To be fair, 3PV as currently designed is fairly poor at accomplishing this goal anyways, most mechs can't view their legs as it is.

A 3PV loving dev might consider the alternative here; http://mwomercs.com/...y-to-impliment/

To be honest, from the title I was expecting a punchline to a dirty joke.

I'd still like it to take up a module slot, but be the "free" introduction module.

There's a real idea for it, along with lowering the pov so it does it's job. Make it destructible and you're just going to end up with 3pv'ers crying about tk's of their drones from haters. Another one i've heard is make it training grounds only, which would be fine if we had ai target mechs... aligning yourself on an empty map is one thing, keeping track of it when you're trying to target someone and have that mech firing back is a complete different story.

That said there's going to be just as much crying now " he put himself in 3pv and gave the teams position away" and other such sillyness. it's fine now, (it'd be better with the above suggestions) as long as they stick to their guns on separate queues.

After reading, and thinking for a while I've hopped off the "make it destructible" camp... UNLESS they merge queues in Community Warfare and then I would like to see it destructible in that game mode only.

Homeless Bill (as usual) hit the nail on the head with the point that if this is for new/casual players destructible will only drive them off which is counter productive to keep the game going long term.

I do agree strongly that the POV needs to come down and get pulled in a bit tighter.
