I'd be a fool if I said the economic adjustment did not affect me... It has like everyone else. In fact, I've admittedly been playing pretty loose and fast with my income and have made a lot of poor decisions regarding both c-bill and MC purchases and flippant sell-backs that have left me closer to the "space-poor" than that of a goldie (Well, bronzie actually) I've begrudgingly had to very quickly re-budget my spending frivolities :(

That said, while I'm not one of them... how many posts have you read where someone has openly bragged that they own every mech, have mastered them all and have a parts room that resembles a wholesale store and or folks who've amassed a small fortune and are the MW:O equivalent of Donald Trump... Quite a few right?

Ask yourself what metric data like that tells PGI?

Right or wrong I would imagine this is telling PGI that we've statistically been spoiled a little bit and have been possibly over-compensated for quite some time...

Look at our present meta. We have a disproportionate number of Assaults and high-end Heavies in every match. Each one literally stuffed to the gills with the highest tier equipment possible... While clearly it took good effort to amass the c-bills for this, was it possibly too easy and dare I say, has the ease of hitting the ground in an top-tier Assault possibly contribute to the meta imbalance?

Think about it...

Post R&Rs removal our economy never re-adjusted... We continued to accrue at the R&R scale but no longer had the money-sink that was R&R. The result left us with an economy that never depreciated the c-bill dollar. In short... we very well might have been long reaping the benefit of PGI overlooking the need to de-value the c-bill post R&R removal.

I'll say it again... I'm not particularly fond of the economic change. That said, I'm honest enough to admit possibly it's not entirely out of order...

I'm struggling to see the possibility of PGI rescinding this economic change... Maybe make some buffs to various accrual means (i.e.. savior, assist spot etc..) but not a wholesale reversal. I'm also keenly interested in seeing what CW brings, in particular the faction bonuses...

I'm sincerely hoping there's "perks on the works" with the intent to bolster the economy through other means other that just mission recoupment... something that draws us into CW and adds meaning to the menial grind of missions and rewards us for contributing to the goal and not just "blowing stuff up"...

The people with stockpiles of money was not a problem with the game. It was a problem with people who played the game too much. You shouldn't try to balance an economy around people who have been playing and paying for months back-to-back.

Agree... and understood.

Clearly PGI waited too long or did not realize the economy needed adjustment soon enough. What would have been sheepishly accepted immediately post R&R removal now looks like an attempt to leverage more MC & premium content purchases... necessary or not.

The problem isn't that we make too much money. The real issue is they didn't add enough things that I want to spend it on.

Having forgotten about MWO after hearing about it last year, I only started playing a couple months ago. I had been averaging around 150k/match and I'm already down to 110k a match since the change (and it's still falling). I have had enough xp to buy things like seismic and target retention, but I cannot actually afford the modules without going broke now. In fact my xp per match keeps rising (due to 2x), but the cbills have dropped.

All it did was hurt newer players and players who like to tweak their mechs in various ways. I have MC for more mech bays, but I cannot afford more mechs to play with and so I'm simply not spending MC. I was crazy enough to pre-order the phoenix package, but that will be the last infusion of funds they get from me because I'm going to have a hard time tweaking those mechs if I don't keep saving now.

I own every single mech I want to own. I have multiples of several XL engines. I have multiples of every single normal engine between 300 to 360 (atlas driver).

My space richness goes beyond words, but that's not the problem. The problem is, premtime and hero mechs had their value cut by at least a third, without a price cut to match, and new players won't stick around under these conditions. So I have a full garage, but who'll be playing with me a month from now?

PGI, plz.
You had a terrible system back with RnR, no new players, terrible word of mouth, MWO was known as a korean grind sim, and I helped you get rid of it. Now you do this. Why? No one's gonna buy overpriced premtime and heroes, especially when they don't do anything.

Even a jock understands that 50% of 0 is 0.

This latest eco nerf seems quite a bit like the one the tried before open beta. I don't like it, but I don't see it changing.

It will change with Community Warfare - the House or Merc Corp you're in will give additional rewards. Lone Wolfs will be paid extra as well to participate in a CW match.

At least, that's how I've understood it.

That's good, but new players aren't gonna benefit from it, not to mention we won't have anything like that at least three months after release. So enjoy, I guess.

I'm only playing when I have 3 other guys to drop with right now. There's no money to grind, and they're not releasing more modules I can spend my GXP on.

I dunno... I'm no mech romney for sure, and even though I have about 14 mechs, not all of them are kitted out or upgraded at once and I only have 2 modules. I think cbills were fine where they were, in fact could have gone with a little bit more per match, but the cuts we have now are, well, unacceptable.

It's way too much grind and I was already doing enough of that. It almost makes me angry, because I hate grinding in this game when it's the same thing over and over and over again. It's a load of bologna, what they put in now. Actually made the game unplayable and not worth playing for me, and I've stuck it out this far... So that should say something.
