Why are people complaining about the size of the CT? Having a large CT just means you can run an XL without any additional risk! Enjoy having an additional 10 or so tons to spend on weapons ;)

I'm sure all those suckers errr, pilots who bought an Awesome feel so much better knowing that with a CT that big, they can put an XL in with no worries about losing a side torso.

Bad hitboxes are bad. Why don't you see the AWS chassis very often? Because it has bad hitboxes. If the KTO maintains it's poor hitbox configuration you'll have the same deal.

Oh yea, the cycle for -> makes total sense, don't get me wrong, it's just the Hero I want to mix up more. I really doubt that they'll deviate for the Orion at release (I'm assuming that's what's next) tho.

I can agree with this. Regular variants for . Next patch, Hero for and regular variants for . I'd back that.

Because you can't put autocannons on an Awesome. Trust me, if you could, well, we'd see a lot more of it.

I've been burned by the Golden Boy.. dare I get a regular chassis to give the ol' Kintaro a second chance? ;)

Edit: Bought the 20... and.. It's actually an epic 'Mech. The speed Is great.

Running XL 330, Medium Laser x4 + SRM6 x2.

Got 810 damage in one game I ran, happy with this! May have to buy another so I can have the all precious Speed Tweak...

This will be the way all mechs are released from now on. It makes no difference to me since the cbill versions release on the same schedule as always. For those who can't wait, they now have an option.

Exactly. Nothing wrong with it. Some people will do it if they like them enough. It's a good business model which offers a little extra income for PGI and in no way affects game play. There were lots of Victors a week early if I remember correctly.

All and all mechs have something you can use against them you just have to find it.

Yeee? Buy it... and try if you're so smart.
I bought Golden Boy, and was MC down the drain.

Kintaro is not worth MC :-(

--------------

I had to do the upgrade in the Phoenix Project from Storm to Overlord. But this approach to create mechs, who knows what they will be, and whether it makes sense to spend more money by ... Maybe it is better to wait and buy per C-bills.

Personally, I hurried with Golden Boy, and paid for it with my wallet.

I find it incredibly amusing that the GB is the worst of the Kintaros in stat except it's ability to carry more missiles than the heat scaling allows it to use the way people want to use them. Smallest engine, worst torso/arm movement by a large margin. Anybody know the turn speeds?

Do not buy this mech.

It is not worth the MC it's digital *** is printed on.

It's not even worth the C-Bills at this point.

Wait till PGI fixes it, "IF" PGI ever fixes it.

If you had re-scaled the mech, I'd buy it immediatelly.
But 'cause of bad experience from GB, sorry no MC-sale ;)

I can see the Kitaro being a very effective, very fast LRM support mech. Being able to practically deliver ~40 tubes worth at speeds over 100kph, the Kitaro is able to reposition and defend itself far better than most heavy missile boats. And having only given the opposing side a medium instead of another heavy/assault is a noteworthy advantage.

This. I'm 100% behind this release schedule - if PGI can make a few bucks, and nobody is harmed, all the power to them.

And the Kintaros cannot even be painted properly. So now we are starting to get things that aren't even finished?

No patch notes either. I guess PGI has run out of steam and we will only see half-baked things coming out from now on. Not a good trend.

More like the trend is more QQ, less thought. There are no patch notes, because there is no Patch! You can paint them, you just can't add Camouflage. They did the same thing last month for the Victor, so nothing new there either.

This mech is designed to be an XL Striker. Put an XL360 in it with srms and med lasers and its gonna pack a wallop with super speed ( 117-118 kph ) lots of armor and missile bay door durability to its CT. Do not take off armor from your torso's, that is the most wetarded thing ive ever heard. If a good player snipes your torso or your torso gets hit by srm's in a brawl youll go down faster than a 16 year old on prom night. Max all that armor.

This is dumb. "It has huge CT, so obvious strategy is to put XL!" NO. JUST NO.

This is not how you balance Mechs. I had been looking forward to using Kintaro's in their default configuration, which are DESIGNED to get in close at average speed. Instead Mechs are hitbox balanced around terrible scale and their hit locations with the idea though

"Oh it'll be probably be abused, because customization, so make it friggin' enourmous so the only way to get any benefit out of it is to spend all your space bucks on the hugest XL possible." And for the record, the Kintaro is NOT designed as an XL Striker, period. Only the Kintaro Royal used an XL and that used NARC, SRMs, and LRMs.

Just dumb. I'm sick of this crap.

This just in... KTO still has a CT the size of an entire CTF... Now available for MC!

Do. Not. Want (which is sad, as I love mediums). Seriously, adjust the hit boxes already.

You think this is bad, just wait till the Nova (Blackhawk) gets into the game. Its nothing but Cockpit, Arms and Legs. With all its weps being right at ground lvl. All those pebbles of DOOM!! that ppl whine about will suddenly become pebbles of SAVED MY *** FROM 12 (C)ERML

Unlike most mechs, though, you'll just get cored from random fire really, really quickly.

I am a schlep that bought the Golden Boy. I would hold off on these until they fix the CT. You literally come face to face with any mech and you're toast. Torso twisting to spread damage doesn't work. You feel more vulnerable than a stalker surrounded by jenners. The bilateral matching hard points are very nice on this line of mechs, but it needs a hit box adjustment before you can ever use them as SRM mini brawlers.

The Kintaro's CT issue is partially that it's also easy to hit from the rear.

Sad, I liked the K19.
