You're better than this, and I've seen you better than this.

I think this goes both ways. Why make us have to start a new thread for the actions of a few?

While we appreciate that the participants in this thread hope to participate in the further development of MWO, we hope that the participants appreciate that we have a vested interest in keeping the peace on our forums.

As a courtesy, we have held off on major moderation action until the community event could take place.
However, as a result of repeat abuse of our Code of Conduct within this thread resulting in numerous player reports, we are left no option but to Jettison this thread.
When your Code of Conduct is written so as to prevent airing of opinions critical of the regeime what the **** do you expect to happen?

I didn't intend any deliberate antagonistic wording. It's simply how I see it.

And no... I don't let personal feelings interfere in my moderation. If I see myself getting in danger of doing so, I take a step back and let someone else handle it. But we are getting off-topic here, please continue on the thread topic.

Analyzing the thread in particular, we have the following:
2 general cases of Troll Accounts (Accounts with numerous reports and 0 games played)
as well as:
1 unique case of Harassment
4 unique cases of Discussing Moderation.
2 unique cases of Off-Topic Discussion
2 unique cases of Quote Clean-up (Posts responding to a moderated post)
1 unique case of Name & Shame
1 unique case of a Player deleting their own post.

If you want to break the Code of Conduct in delivering feedback: Please send it to us via support@mwomercs.com
If you wish to appeal against moderation taken against you: Please contact us via support@mwomercs.com
If you still intend to break the Code of Conduct regardless of these options to contact us directly with your concerns, or if you feel unable to control your own content according to our terms of use, please expect to be moderated.

It's very hard to believe that the entire thread needed to be K-Towned when the offensive users should have been warned/removed instead.

seriously, the thread was perfectly fine before egomane showed up. will he be subject to any sort of disciplinary action for his violation of the code of conduct?

Actually, it started to go off track the moment Niko Snow showed up and mumbled some ******** about "#savethisthread" so I believe this was clearly premeditated. It's clear we have some amateur agents provocateur on the moderation staff.

Is it not suspicious to anybody else that accounts registered today are showing up to provide cause to gas the thread?

The forums have guaranteed that most people who are a part of Mecha Lingua or SaveMWO will never believe that they are acting neutrally now, but mostly due to the forums wording and the timing of the the forums action.

Good luck with repairing trust with this part of the community. Might as well delete the thread entirely right?
You might want to run that past your customer service reps beforehand though.

I can see the need for Mecha Lingua. I had my doubts at first, but this more or less cemented the need for it to exist.

No big image macros/memes please and let's not get too self-righteous, even in support. But, suffice to say we can see how prudent it was to get as many people as we could talking offsite (e.g. mechalingua). Please contact Stalkerr if you'd like to have your unit represented there.

Recommendation.

Open an Official Thread with Moderation Preview on all comments. Have a showcase that displays the comments moderated so we can see that only flaming idiots and troublemakers are being moderated.

Perception is reality.

And the perception is that PGI / IGP are dismissing and silencing (or worse) all commentary on this subject.

I'm not going to go so far as accusing them of using 'agents provacateur' but I will say that the general theme of things is... bad.

Look at your Facebook page for God's sake. It is almost nothing but complaints, in anything other than the Sarah's Jenner comments.

Do you guys want to address this? Do you want to win back those founders who have left, feeling they were lied to rightly or wrongly? Because it does not seem like it from where I sit.

From a founders point of view, PGIs stance on things such as 3rd person, coolant flush, etc, give me reason enough that I consider PGI all of the above.

Yes, those are all scary and each potentially game killing, community killing, dream ending if they are implemented poorly. Ive posted many times my fears of what 3PV could do to the game.

However, so far PGI has created a great beta. We can either trust them or not trust them to do it right. I choose to reserve judgement until after these are implemented. Ive already dismissed the idea of a game that is pure to the lore or TT. Their job is create an action sim so I accept its going to have elements that are not true to lore. I am trusting them and their plan.. so far.

It's almost like certain parties have a vested interest in dismantling parties critical of PGI/IGP's decisions.

Guys, if you want this stuff heard (and don't pretend like I'm not talking to you on your own forums and forwarding stuff), be civil about this.

You're better than this, and I've seen you better than this. You have legitimate things to say, so say them civilly and I'll forward them.

Hi, we said all those things civily, and in depth.

We got ignored and belittled by PGI staff in both word and action.

Yes, perception is reality. The perception is that #savemwo is anti-PGI and anyone needs to only skim the threads and see that many of the savemwo posters are critical or hostile to PGI.

The hashtag may have started this. #savemwo just sounds like a player movement that thinks PGI is screwing up. Im sure many of these players are sincerely invested and positive in their feedback but the die was cast. This movement was seen as confrontational thus bad for PGI's rep, for MWO's rep, and the rude posts didnt help.

This is PGI's show. You cant heckle the actors and expect the show to change. You will be ignored or shown the door.

Well this turn of events is rather worrisome, any genuine attempt to get constructive feedback to the devs is swept aside.

Well, something is wrong with your show if the audience is booing, exit stage right.

There aren't many developers who seem so willing to trash their forum posters and openly discount their value and opinion. I mean this is a team that straight out said the forums only represent a tiny portion of the player base in response to the 3PV polling. A team that removed a staple in most game forums; General Discussion, because it was full of negative feedback and hasn't even acknowledged this movement. Well the inaptly named Community Manager apparently "forwards" all this up and nothing seems to change.
In some ways I guess it's new and different approach, the customer is never right. They claimed the forum "reorganization" was to help them get better feedback, anyone seen any evidence they are using this easier to find feedback?
Even if a group is a vocal minority, wouldn't it be worth a little effort to at least engage and see why they are so vocal? I guess PGI/IGP attitude has trickled down to the mod staff.
Whatever objections I had with the movement, I never wanted to see it completely stonewalled and turned into a negative force. Seems like the mods would rather see this go elsewhere and be negative rather than engage it and make use of it as a positive.
I said they would ignore this and I am sad they didn't prove me wrong.

This is ridiculous guys, don't get distracted by moderation and blow a fuse. We have more important issues to discuss. This thread was made to foster a working communicative relationship between us and PGI. We shant ruin that by getting ******** over a volunteer moderator, or any moderator. Roll with the punches, stay on topic.

We're on the same team. Act like it.
