The level of discussion here, on the official forums, is certainly not as high as what went on to put the community recommendations into the #saveMWO open letter. However, if you're upset over the discourse here, perhaps you should stop trolling and start contributing.

I hope your not trying to say im a pub player. I played competitively when this game was worth something. Im just sitting back hopping you people bring forward some good points and discussion.

11 pages and that TOGsolid's post, although not on topic, was at least funny. best post on this thread by miles.

I fail to see how "PGI needs to be more communicative" and "PGI needs to listen more to the community on balance concerns" are bad points.

I have sat back and out of this game for months, keeping an eye on how #savemwo# might develop. I am just surprised that after reading all previous post theirs barley any thing of value here.

Troll you say ? I am not trying to troll. This group of members represents me and shares my concerns yet the way you have tried to make yourself heard has not been through debating game mechanics and systems. Most of you guys are just bickering over nothing of value.

You let yourself get bated by Niko and friends.

Any way, im just adding to the trash posts and bickering. Ill stop now and go back to watching.

To be fair dude, #saveMWO just got to the point of complaining that the dev's arent accepting player feedback. Until they are what's the point in trying to argue out a coherent game view for them when they'll just have gone on and possibly even killed the game by the time everyone can agree?

If you think this is bad then go read that "letter" from their first townhall they submitted. That thing was hilariously inept and didn't offer anything of value.

Replace CCP with PGI and you get how all of this #savemwo stuff comes off.

So funny, and true, and applies to every online game.

What do you expect from a one-post, throw-away account who's first post is in an obscure subforum-subforum?

That's not suspicious at all! Better shut the whole thing down.

If we moved up #savemwo #3 to like, tomorrow, and just breezed through it, we could make a new post back on the real forums (or at least the current iteration of the real forums since general discussion was destroyed in Pay2Mercgate), and continue the discussion where it will again see the light of day.

Also, more on topic - we don't really spend much time discussing the monetization side of things. While not totally unfair, many of IGP's financial policies could very easily be described as "sleazy as hell." One of the notable recent examples is the ongoing trend of releasing hero mechs long before the regular variants are released. And consumables still look and feel like a fake, tacked-on cash grab module rather than something that truly enhances the gameplay experience.

Other players, and even PGI, might have cared what Goons have to say in their little "townhall" if they werent one of the most well known groups of trolls on the internet. It also didnt help that for months on end you guys actively trolled forum threads to get them deleted/removed and trolled ingame matches with that SQUAWK garbage. You guys even abused knockdowns to kill an entire team, and then abused it even more on a dev, and recorded it for everybody to watch and laugh at.

Everybody is laughing at how the guys who trolled the ever living **** out of this game and its community are now flipping around and trying to save face and want to magically save the game now and cant understand all the hate they get. Your little town hall meetings will accomplish nothing, because everybody can see your lies.

Hey now, abusing legitimate mechanics is fair game... Play to win... My corp used the SQUAWKing to our advantage for a while. We would simply camp our base when the SQUAWKING started.

The trolling I could do without, but your right. If they hadn't spent so much time trolling they would have more weight now that they want to be taken seriously...

Or maybe they are still trolling, and #saveMWO is simply the new vehicle for trolling the forums.

I'm fine with them releasing hero variants early. It's not really any problem other than allowing people who want to pay to have early access to a thing. Most of them are around as good as or worse than any C-bill chassis, so there's not much you're getting other than a slight legup on mastery XP for the most part. The removal of the Centurion with the AC-20 arm was arguably a bit off, but nobody uses mediums these days anyway :)

This was an object demonstration to the dev team member famous for stating that machine guns were not broken and useless that he was, in fact, entirely ******* wrong about that. A chance taken, a lol had, and collision damage perhaps petulantly removed in response? Could be worse, there's also a "machine gun bukkake" video floating around out there which made the case more eloquently.

Everybody knew knockdowns were broken and machine guns were useless.

Trying to say that goons are the champions and heroes of MWO for abusing knockdowns every match they possibly could to "make it knwon to the devs" doesnt make them any less a bunch of trolls that everybody does their best to ignore.

If that were true all of these other groups would not have signed up for #saveMWO, so I think it's safe to say you're a delusional liar based on the information we have available. Tragic.

Just about everyone abused broken collision mechanics, goons just made a funny video about it. Dragon bowling and jenner tackles were common everywhere, even with the anti-goon units.

Goons did a thing I don't like, therefore they are trolls.

Goons have done a lot for MWO, just like they have done a lot for EVE and Planetside 2. If you would bother to actually talk with goons in a non-antagonistic way, and maybe take the exploitation of game mechanics a little less personally, you'd realize that they are a group of passionate and goofy individuals committed to learning and aiding the games that they pick up. There is no group of gamers more consistently accurate in game evaluation than goons, partially because most goons are a group of middle-aged nerds sitting around theorycrafting for fun.

Whenever someone says "well, goons got what was coming to them, because they exploited a game mechanic or poked fun at me in a non-offensive way!" I just shake my head. Grow a thicker skin, and maybe get to know some of the people you are slandering. You'll find that they are far more intelligent and engaging than you think.

The fact the goons make up no more than 10% of the participating parties in these meetings seems completely lost on some of you guys.

I just wanted to add, that as a non-competitive pug player, I fully agree with pretty much everything raised in the post. I absolutely love battletech, right from MW2- I've spent countless hundreds on games, books and figurines (and even went out of my way to find somewhere with tesla II pods when I was on holidays overseas in America!) and would be pumping a lot of money into MWO in the future if it actually turns out even remotely decent. Whilst I'm not a "pro" player by any measure, the kind of things raised in the recording are very relevant to my own experiences and hopes for the game. Even if you're not a pro or in a group of any kind, I think it's really worth a listen.
