So, Kintaros. Has Anybody Seen One Non-Golden-Boy Out There?

....no need to worry about your XL exploding! Because the center torso is where everyone is going to be focusing, and the center torso has way more armor then the side torsos! Also I have seen a few in battle, and they don't seem that large,or is it just me?
I don't know food for though.

Jenner sized? My good man, you are underestimating its size. It will be Dragon sized at the least.
On a side note, I noticed the initial engine for the Golden boy was very small. Does it have a smaller max engine than the others?

If you time it right, you will have finished your opponent off faster than he would have gone down otherwise (unless your whole team is there, in which case you took several shots in the back for no real gain ), albeit not as fast as you would have if you had been using machineguns (if you had waited a bit longer, THEN rushed him with MGs).

Yes; the other Kintaros max-out at 360 if I'm not mistaken, whereas the Golden Boy can only mount an Engine as heavy as a 290.
It is most unfortunate.

If you are living long enough to fire more than 3-4 volleys of SRMs on a consistent basis, I beg you to record your games and upload them to youtube.

No way am I spending MC on this stinker, but I'm willing to give it a chance at the CBill level.

I have noticed one or 2 friendly CBill Kintaro... personally this mech is one of the worst, and might actually be the first mech I will not buy 3 variants of.

The sneaky thing just do a drive-by shooting on my team's jenner who have stopped to backstab an atlas, he speed up behind the jenner and unload his SRMs. The jenner is dead before it can respond.
The same kintaro was later seen chasing down the team's ECM commando.
He got the commando off screen, and was later killed by a dragon from the team.
Tried to shot at him with ERPPCs in my 8Q, but the thing is fast.

I have seen a Kintaro survive... barely... By hiding the whole match until just before the end, Where I was trying awfully hard to make him my 4th kill and had torn off his CT armor and just about to munch on his tasty internals when the match ended (Conquest points victory).

I think I can answer this one. The people who would have spent mc on a Kintaro early are the people who would have spent MC on a Kintaro anyways.
I have my GoldenBoy maxed through basics with around 8000 xp for the elite tier. I play it in a single double XP match each time I play to take advantage of that. Then I jump back in my other mediums. As a centurion/dragon pilot I don't mind the Kintaro as much as some people, I am used to being cored first. That said it's a huge target and I can't stand toe to toe with anything at this point. All that to say I won't be spending any MC on a Kintaro to get it 1 week early,
I am not sure if they actually expected a mech that has been reviewed poorly by the forums to sell like hotcakes or if this was the new plan for rolling out mechs and it was on the Kintaro by coincidence. Either way I suspect the sales numbers of this mech to me less than average.

This is a game FYI, it doesn't matter if something was crap in TT, it can be balanced to better in REAL-TIME with Mech sizing and Hitboxes. Consider any of the default Kintaro's, they have decent above average speed on par with Centurions and Trebuchets and are Missle/Laser based, that's plenty good for a REAL-TIME game. No one cares if it looked like a chimp with a perceived "it sucked in TT" attitude.
But in this real-time game they were given a bad Mech scale and Bad hit-box design, which directly relates to its current uselessness. All Mediums suffer from the "Mediums Must Suck™" Balancing decisions by the Devs.

They are death traps. The hard points and speed encourage a SRM brawler build, but the fragile CT that can be hit from the back and sides won't allow that build to be successful. I rarely survive one hit and run attempt in it.
Most disturbing, I am routinely killed so quickly that I never see the Internal CT structure turn colors. I go from yellow CT external armor to dead.
Then there is this...
Is my Front CT armor supposed to extend around to the back like that?

Well, what does the back CT armor show?
You could get away with stacking most back armor to the front to compensate...
