the GB is way to slow to be effective with its payload, so in its stock speed you bought a SUICIDE! mech, Some assaults can easily out run or keep up with you. now I need to figure out what would be the prime engine for the GB without having to lose most of my weapons :)

I think the Hero mech should have been called the BANZAI! ... or the Gyokusai.

Well, what does the back CT armor show?

You could get away with stacking most back armor to the front to compensate...

I like that this can be read as a commentary on how ugly the mech is.

"If my dog had a face like yours, I'd shave it's butt and make it walk backwards!"

Yes, or maybe I can run around in reverse with max back armor....

Want to say sorry for my first post I wrote it up on the way out to work and didn't give a lot of good detail/reasoning sooo here we go again hopefully maybe give some insight.

I've been using the stock 20 weapon setup, 280XL and in the space I added Artemis, more double heatsinks and a AMS. As everyone has said it has such a big CT there's no reason NOT to run XL engines. My best game in the KTO so far has been my best game ever in MWO and that was the SS I posted with 350 damage (Fine 346) a kill and 8 assists. Since then I have been using about the same tactic of sticking close to team missile mechs, searching left/right flanks for lights pushing to engage "lonely catapults", while being able to still be effective at range with the LL and LRM 5. Once the LRM ammo was gone I would stick into the middle close to a heavy/assault group and advance with them. The speed was almost perfect as I could add my LL to the group targets while still having the agility to chase down any injured mechs or stave off/kill lights that would try to engage.

Yes, the CT is huge, yes the Hardpoints make it seem to appeal to a pure brawling setup but I still feel the mixed range setup will be more effective and from the games i've been having it has been working very well for me. Catapults and other mechs have MASSIVE CT sections as well, and yet they still do well in their respective roles which is why I just don't think the KTO is a pure brawler only mech. While the 18 and 19's I have yet to look at and lack the LL I think the Narc is an interesting addition to the 19 that would further the idea of body guarding a LRM boat, abet different than my 20.

As for using Cbills or MC well this is my first week or two, I was going to put 30 dollars in to support PGI one way or another, for me it is worth it as I have been LOVING it more than I ever did the SP but, I can't comment on that for others.

No offense intended here, but this is a poor showing for "best game ever" for medium mech. I expect 600-800 point games for reasonably well performing medium. I am averaging 150 point games in my new KTO's, and I rarely survive any game (including the ones we win). This because people have learned the Kintaro is an easy kill and target it first.

I will master it, and I will keep it. I cannot recommend it. Better to buy that other 50 tonner you have been considering, imo.

I may even play the Medium vs the World Tournament in it. After all, I will only have to compete against the other 14 people who bought any version of the Kintaro. I am sure to place!!!

Good to see the forums keeping to what they're good at... (complaining about things).

I bought a KTO-18 (I think) and I'm running a xl 300 with 5 SRM6s and 2 MLs. I do roughly 350 - 400 damage a match on average. The CT is huge, don't be a ***** and complain... just run an XL and be smart about when you move/attack.

I have the 18, 19, and 20. I am through the basics working on elite skills now.

They are death traps. The hard points and speed encourage a SRM brawler build, but the fragile CT that can be hit from the back and sides won't allow that build to be successful. I rarely survive one hit and run attempt in it.

Most disturbing, I am routinely killed so quickly that I never see the Internal CT structure turn colors. I go from yellow CT external armor to dead.

Then there is this...

Is my Front CT armor supposed to extend around to the back like that?

What I was originally hoping for would be a good medium striker mech. What I found, and what I see, is a gimped center torso. Why the hell does its CT armor wrap around the back?

This is inexcusable.

Please PGI Quickderp the Urbanmech in next month or whatever. I don't care how bad it is or might be. I just want to strut out in one and have some fun. I would master 1 without a doubt and play it for funzies.

Also, yesterday I saw a KTO-19 in the field. I sometimes don't pay attention at the beginning of the map if I am trying to read off letter designation and loadout of a mech I see before I lose it. But if it stays, I notice. I've seen plenty of Golden Boys over the past week. I want to say I saw a KTO-20 but I am 43 and my memory is getting bad :)

You guys must realize that the Dervish will be Assault sized with a CT even larger the Kintaro is now in-game,. That's how this process works.

Naw. The Dervish design lends itself to massive SIDE torsos, making XLs suicide, all while being the size of a Highlander. Sheesh. At least get your torso geometry right! *sniffs with nose in the air*

The only use for an Urbanmech in MWO is to scratch the crotch of an Atlas.

Which would render the Atlas inoperable and easy to kill.

Let us not forget:

I'll happily scratch it with my AC. Real men don't need Assault Mechs to compensate with. :(

I voted for the Hoplite.

I'd still rather have a "correctly scaled" Bushwacker.

TBH, I can find one good use of the KTO-19...

Hint: It has to do with PPCs.

I rarely see KTOs on the field... I see more Awesomes than I see Kintaros.

That's all I need to know.

You know how some video games you press "E" to get in vehicles and stuff........

Well urbanmechs can mount ravens, locusts, and T-rex's, they can also use a Jagermech as a exo-suit......

The pilots are almost always have jedi reflexes...... off the bat you know either the most fearless, crazy or both.
