So you agree then that they are not the same as the PC Gamer colours?

I agree that 33.3% percent of them aren't the same.

It is perfectly possible to generate a jpg server-side. The fact that it's "just a jpg" says nothing about whether it is a static image or a correct representation of the number of Phoenix packages sold.

It's very unlikely given the lack of movement over the entire weekend, and the fact that the bar for the Phase 2 is 45% full and titled loyalty_2_45_on.jpg whereas it would most likely not have a reference to the completion rate if it were dynamic, and the best/easiest way to do it would probably be using php's image libraries directly (e.g. img src = render_phase_2_progress.php instead of img src = draw_45%_progress_hope_nobody_questions_it.jpg) or stuff it in using javascript since the site already requires it (there are numerous bar/chart rendering scripts that could do this, even animate it filling up).

The names for the other bars are loyalty_1_on.jpg and loyalty_3_0_on.jpg by the way. No other permutations of these names exist on the server, e.g. loyalty_2_50_on.jpg or loyalty_3_75_on.jpg which also suggests the filename get-call from their folder is not invoking some dynamic generation script.

However, the fact remains that we have no idea what the milestones are, we have no idea how much each package contributes to the total, we have no idea what the total so far is, and we have no idea if there were zero or one thousand Phoenix packages sold this weekend. Surely you see how this would make somebody skeptical.

Maybe they see that a jpg was a stupid idea and are working on a new counter? Don't be so pessimistic guys.
Maybe they will change the jpg when their work day starts?

I'm sure they'll fix it in UI 2.0

Do people want them working on a new counter, or perhaps something more productive?

Their web/forum guys are not responsible for or capable of removing ghost heat, unless the team and resources are being terribly mismanaged. They also are probably not responsible for balancing, or netcode, or renderer enhancements, or 3D modeling.

It might be they don't have a solid number as to the finish line per phase - shoddy but possible.

It might also just be a push to reclaim refunded packages through getting others to purchase.

Or it might just be, that it hasn't sold as well as expected and they are pushing for more sales.

Personally i don't think the rewards for the stretch goals, are all that good.

If I were color blind, they might look identical to me.

I saw a sneak peak at an IGN interview with the MWO team, and they revealed some upcoming bonus color packs that'll really liven up the battlefield. The rumor is that anybody who attends the launch parties will be given a special code for one of these exclusive "camo paks" and you'll be encouraged to trade them:

I've placed them with the existing bonus color sets to really make them pop.

(I'm just kidding, adding more color packs would take too much time away from the web design team and prevent them from getting any work done on DirectX 11 integration)

I am certain that a majority of the forum users here are some sort of blind. Color is just one.

It's up for debate.. but I think a "Flame Pattern" for all Project Phoenix 'Mechs Is a pretty rad prize, and something I would be looking forward to If we can hit that mysterious goal.

ZOMG! WHERE!?

But seriously though...

So here's a serious question. What's your average earnings?

Mine's higher with the "nerf." I'd average around 118 to 127,000 . I now average 130,000 or more, typically in the 137 to 144,000 range.
This one, I wasn't particularly trying but thought I'd quote it because ~this~ amount is what I used to earn before the nerf with a hero mech. The screen, btw, was taken 8/17/2013.
Posted Image
Most of my LRMs missed, I had an AC/2, a medium laser, and I did some brawling.

I'm just curious. Have you taken a look at your earnings, and what are you doing to earn it?
What I've noticed is I'm rewarded a lot more frequently for things that help out other team members, and paid less for stealing other people's kills and damage dealt. A picture in another thread showed someone doing lots more damage and having less payout. Here, I flashed a couple of tags and saved a couple of people from getting killed.
----
On a side note: The ghost heat system is awful. There's no defending it. A better use of the scripting is an accuracy punishment (wait, that's Homeless Bill's system with almost the same scripts).

Or even better, a pre-set capacity (maximum heat until shutdown) all across the board (Hit 30? SHUTDOWN! Hit 45? DIE instead of this "herp-derp I got 10 DHS, I get 50 while you only get 40. But now I got 16 DHS plus unlocks and here I am at 76 or more!") or pre-defined for each mech, "Awesome gets this much capacity. Victor gets this much. Blackjack gets this much. Centurion gets that much," etc.

Don't try and reason with them. All they hear is DOOOOMMMMM!!!!

-Not sure if sarcastic or serious.. if serious..v
How to tell how some people are the most toxic to the community.. even spells it out, literally.
Pay for something.. then a company decides; hey, why not give some more stuff with it?
Someone complains? Purely incredible.
I understand how toxic this community can be. Complain about new stuff, lack of stuff, buying stuff, getting free stuff. Complaining about so much yet not offering compromises on it. Complaining that candy by the truck load cannot be given because diabetes is a thing.
A lot of you need to grow up. Don't like it; stop playing. Make a better game yourself, though odds are you know nothing on programming but entitlement is a disease.
I feel PGI is doing a great job. Small staff compared to other gaming companies. Working hard on getting this out.

Again, all these features are very similar to building a car.. cannot get the engine bay molded and built until the motor is done. Interior is done and so is the dash but the interior cabin structure isn't yet done. Cannot slam it all in there and hope for the best. Other things rely on others to be done in order to function. Simple cascading effect. If PGI wants to give stuff including paint or what have you with the current package, then so be it. I'm happy they keep adding to it.

That way they can just bump it up and say ' Hey, guys look at all the people that are buying' (Although what will that achieve I have no idea).

Because Steam does the same thing, right?

Yes, you should all buy the Phoenix package. You can get a spiffy emblem that will make you stand out in game. I can't wait to see both teams packed full of Phoenix tags while me and my homies are flying the Founders ones. You guys who missed out on the Founders package can now feel special too. Not as special as the Founders though of course.

To me the only difference is that the PC gamer red is more pinkish. There is also a very, very slight difference in the 'greys' (which look more like cream).

The difference in the greys is the PC Gamer Grey is more of a soft grey tone. The Phoenix one has more of a yellow hue to it.

The progress bar is now at 50%, after roughly 68 hours

If the progress bar keeps advancing at the current rate, phase 3 will be unlocked mid-november:
