I thought I read somewhere in the past couple weeks in a dev post or announcment that the Pheonix Package will no longer be for sale after Oct. 15th.
I think it was in a post updating us about whats to come.
Did anyone else see this as well?
A link would be helpful.

Thanks for the link. That doesn't actually say they won't be for sale after that date - just that they are being released on that date. I imagine they will still leave it open for at least a week or two for the people holding out to see how they perform in the game. I wasn't here for founders, so I could be wrong, but that is my expectation.

Since they're starting to make Hero variants of the Founder 'mechs (Atlas, Catapult, Hunchback, Jenner), I can't wait for the Hero Catapult, it may be the first Hero I'll buy since the Flame

The Founders Atlas was a year or two ago. While I am not saying that they won't eventually release hero versions of any of these mechs (odds are they will, just because there are so many in the package), I don't think it will be for quite a while. I still think the PP will be available for a week or two at least.
DirePhoenix, where did you read they are making other hero versions of founders mechs?

I cannot wait either. My first mech ever was the CTF-C1 and I absolutely fell in love with it.

All depends on how they engineer it. The general concensus on the thread on the Mech section is that it's going to be tough to make a CPLT that offers a different tactical option than than that covered by the current range of models without either trespassing on the Jagermech's areas, introducing artillery systems (Arrow IV), or making the new configuration either too much a downgrade to purchase or too overpowered to avoid eclipsing the other models.
We'll have to see when they do it.

k2 style energy weapons x2 in pods is all I can think of with delving into sarna, for ideas and not something I'd buy

Hehehe i'm just glad if it unlocks, but i must recognize that bar did spawn some of the wildest theories about how fair it's the goal, if it's truly upgrading by itself or someone at Pgi pushing a button, how shady not know the real goal, etc etc..
Was fun while it lasted, but fear not if something PGI has proven to be awesome it's to make the community Rage at XXX design or choice by themselves.

I don't expect that though, because that could be bad PR...

Lose either way?
Ouch.
On the plus side - as someone pointed out, if the Flame pattern DOESN'T get unlocked here, it probably will be put up for MC/Cbills.
If for no other reason than it would be a waste of the resources not to.

Exactly. It'd be an epic troll.
PGI has designed everything for the packages and they know how much it cost in labor. Now its time to make a profit
The "Shut up and take my money" crowd has already bought it. The "Wait and see" group will buy if they can. It's the wafflers PGi is after now and what better way to do it than with bait? So the put up an unlock bar and tease us with carrots. For some it works for others it doesn't. Either way PGI ends the sale. Then what?
They can either say "Awesome job everything is unlocked. Enjoy!" and we feel like winners or they can say; "Nope! You failed. We didn't get the money we wanted so you don't get the Camo you wanted." That's not being a troll that's being an expired feminine hygiene product. In effect its telling every paying customer "Your money wasn't good enough." Well if my money isn't good enough then ill take it someplace else and you won't get any of it ever again. So that's why I'm not worried about unlocking the Flame Camo.
But wait! What about 'milestones' like Star Citizen. That's a different beast. StarCitizen is saying. "If you do this, we can do this." "If we get 22 million we can do X. If we don't we won't do it.... yet". Two different approaches.

Well considering that in just about a week's time, we've gone from 60 to 90 percent, I really doubt that final 10% will suddenly stagnate and just sit there for the next 11 days. So to answer the first quotation, no idea how much we'll need, but don't worry the momentum has been increasing over the last week so we'll probably hit 100% before Monday.
