Interesting. Do you know any who have done that but still continue to complain on the forums here about it while simultaneously berating those who aren't dissatisfied with the game and are exciting for their Phoenix 'mechs?

If so, perhaps you can also explain how is it that they don't care but still continue to make these posts?

I can't explain how they don't care, because that's super disingenuous to claim. Of course they still care. If they didn't care, they would not have given MWO so much of their time and offered so many suggestions and given so much feedback since the earliest days of closed beta.

To elaborate, some of these guys have been playing Battletech/MechWarrior for decades and it'll take more than Paul to make them stop caring.

Someone said something about like that in the refund thread. My response there is the same here, anyone that got a refund is unlikely to regret the choice, same for those that just didnt fork up the cash to begin with. But we WILL see "QQ p2w mechs" crying for awhile untill everyone gets access to the battlemaster (January/2014), I mean some of these guys are crying over p2w mechs NOW I can only imagine the river of tears that will flow from mechs that they wont see for months.

I wonder why all cockpit items are just hanging medallions.

A faction medallion plus a phoenix statue or a holo would be better I think...

They care enough to try and get people to hate the game like they do, while at the same time scaring off potential customers? I understand what you are trying to say. These guys really like the franchise, but at the same time they abandoned the game in beta. When it was being tested. When their input could have mattered most, and now they are coming back onto the forums and slamming everyone who is enjoying the game for liking a product that they don't like. Over the past year I've seen these people constantly on the forums saying that the sky is falling, but they will also say that they stopped playing "months ago" or that they played a match and didn't see anything different. Needless to say, this hurts more than it helps and if they actually cared they would give the game a try again, but the way I see it, they only care about getting their way in the franchise, not the franchise itself.

The people who complain the most haven't quit playing. Something tells me the teamspeak they are on isn't full of "I'M HAVING SUCH A BAD TIME! SOMEONE SAVE ME FROM MYSELF!"

Or maybe I'm like that kid from Sixth Sense. "I see quitters. They are in the game playing all the time, and they don't even know they quit!"

Some of us are eternal optimists who see the recent change in tune from PGI (vastly increased communication) is a sign that the negative reviews have proved that well-tread criticisms are worth addressing sooner rather than later.

All that remains is to make it clear that the few people who spend all day on these forums defending every bad decision on the way have NOT helped the game.

Perhaps you have not been around the forums much, but you seem to not understand much of the frustration around here. The devs when they bother to talk are really good with pretty words, but they are often hollow words that lack any substance. Makes people feel like they are dealing with a sleazy car salesman. That being said people have not abandoned the franchise and they really haven't abandoned the game if they are still posting regardless of them playing or not, but to say that they didn't provide input when it mattered most is just disingenuous. People have been giving input this entire time and they were categorically ignored without even so much as an explanation from the devs as to why certain things were done certain ways. The communication from the devs has been abysmal to the point of absurdity, and only in the last week or two has it shown any improvement. The question though, are these new pretty words as hollow as the previous?

I never defended the game when every meta build was a PPC or LLas boat. In fact back when I saw their announcement to release the Misery, the hero 'mech of boaters, I stopped playing entirely.

Several months later, I came back, saw the direction in which the game was/is heading now, and yes, I defend it because I think we're a lot better off now than we were months ago during PPCwarrior Online.

Do I agree with things such as 3pv? Nope, but I understand why they had to do it, and I certainly won't support the blind rage against it. Ghost heat? If it helps get rid of gimmick-boats, I'm fine with it. And as you said, the increased communication from PGI recently.

Of course... None of this really has anything to do with Phoenix 'mechs and players who are upset about x, y, or z topics above giving grief to players who ordered Phoenix packages because "giving PGI any money or support is bad". Some people have even thrown around "self-entitlement" or "self-righteous", when referring to Phoenix package purchasers... I mean really? Who the **** do you think you are telling us what we can or can't do with our money?

No one who was legitimately against 3PV would call the criticisms against it "blind rage". Any objective appraisal, heck, even the appraisal of PGI is that 3PV isn't used by a vast majority of players, and isn't helpful. It was a massive waste of developer resources considering how the game has been criticized for missing content/features in the major reviews.

Turning 3PV off for 12 mans, including the launch party tournament is a total capitulation on the 3PV issue. It's over and done with. We were right.

I bought back into a Phoenix package, so I wouldn't give anyone grief for being a customer. I don't know if you're directing this content at me, but if so, it's misplaced.

The debate is over. PGI knows what they need to do now that the reviews are clear. If I didn't think that PGI learned their lesson, I wouldn't have bought back in. That being said, there's still a group of very notable players on the forum who are seemingly blind to the lesson, and are apparently eager to continue believing that PGI has done no wrong and every legitimate criticism along the way was unfounded whining.

As someone else put it, it's time to eat your peas.

I complain a lot, I may get harsh with my words, and I have spent around $310 on the game. Makes no sense right? Well I complain because I care about this game. Maybe not PGI (I do not know them only got threated by Paul in my first 7 posts) I want to see this game succeed. It's like being a parent. You will yell at them, you will get disappointed at them, and they will also make you proud at time. The reason why the forums are toxic is the lack of information and interaction from the devs. If you can post about a sale. You can post about bugs squashed, features added with maybe a quick clip, etc.

It's easier to balance around letting players just have one active item at a time.

i bet on the 15th everyone who got their refunds are going to be butt-hurt when they see the phoenix mechs and start complaining that they want them for free. write down these words somewhere i bound its going to happen.

No they won't, afew that couldn't afford it might be complain, that they have to wait, until 2014 to see a battle master, but those that cancelled felt they made the right choice, and I doubt every many of them actually play anymore, and the few that do I hope have some dignity to keep quiet, and not give people ammunition.

I will take you up on that bet, because I know plenty who have already taken the money and spent it on Star Citizen or War Thunder instead and won't care.

Well if they don't care, why are they still comming here to complain.

When PGI didn't split the 3pv ques I was one of the angry, and I was one of those that threatend to get a refund, wasn't going to spend another penny on MWO, even if I lived in north america I wouldn't have been selected to attend due to some of the coments I've made here.

I kept hanging back, from pushing the refund button, even after the opening event, that made me question even more the professional ability of those who run PGI, but there was just marginally enough there to keep me intrested, what has happend since that event the known bugs posts and CW post, this week I posted to back up bryans claim that they do listen, as jump jet buff and srm buff are perfectly clear and correct examples that they do, they don't listen to all the options and some that the community think are the big, important ones, but they do listen.

Time will tell whether i've been a total sucker in keeping my phoenix package, but at the moment I'm glad I did.

What is getting very tireing is listening to some of the {Scrap} people are slinging at eachother here, as the extremists in both camps are just making themselves look very dumb and childish, and when you look at how old the people were at the opening event you couldn't see many under the age of thirty.

So for dignities sake lets bury this and move on

is it that or the fact that too many people here have shown how easily distracted they are and too many dangly things would distract them from fighting?

then you need to check yours too. I run professional tuning software on mine. Most people I notice on here, do not. Hence people saying the Heavy Metal is purple, when it is definitely pink.
