I monitor the phoenix progress bar for updates every five minutes, and the bar for phase 2 went to 60% about ten minutes ago.

The speed at which the bar moves didn't change much:
(145% because phase 1 is 100% completed - doesn't matter for the calculations)

Extrapolating from that, it will take until mid-November to unlock phase 3, assuming phase 3 is just as long as phase 2.

Don't worry, there is no goal announced so they can just change it to allow it to unlock. You think they will show if the numbers re are really slow or dropping. Whatever their current goal is just their position at this time. They can lower it anytime so it looks like it's advancing quicker.

Well if we consider 1st update was a 5% increase and 2nd update it's a 10% then that means there is more ppl upgrading/buying Phoenix on the 2nd update, even more if we consider all the ppl who asked for refund...

Or the same time spawn it means each XX time, the update bar moves up despite what the real status is.

Anyway the more i get for free the better, right now 3x more colors (even if they are similar ) and with some luck a cockpit medallion.. i guess we really need more backers for the flame pattern

The art developed for Project Phoenix is new art created specifically for MWO. It is not the old Dougram art. PGI could very well create new art for the 'mechs that used art from Macross. It just can't look like the original art. And in case you haven't noticed, all the 'mechs in MWO are using new art that hasn't been used elsewhere. Not just the Unseen. PGI doesn't have the rights from Topps to use the art used in the current sourcebooks. Just like PGI doesn't have the rights to use Dougram art. That hasn't stopped them from making new art for the 'mechs that we have now, it hasn't stopped them from making new art for Project Phoenix, and it shouldn't stop them from making new art for the rest of the Unseen should they desire to put those 'mechs in MWO. It just can't use the original art.

There is no dispute against having those 'mechs in any game, just the art used to originally portray them. If they make new art there is no issue.

For all my distrust and anger with PGI, I readily admit after being a professional miniature painter of BT armies in the 80's who also rolled the dice, their game versions of classic Mechs are far better than the originals, appearance-wise.

You're right, if we make things up it paints a rosy picture. Making things up can be fun sometimes.

If we check the data and see the %-per-day went from 2.78%-per-day to 1.74%-per-day down to 1.69%-per-day you might conclude that there are fewer people upgrading/buying Phoenix. Looking at the data is painful sometimes, but can teach us things and help us make decisions better than making things up.

What are those goal numbers? Oh that's right conveniently absent, so they can do what they like. Kind of like player number, where's the counter?

Interestingly at that rate of roughly 1.6% per day it's *exactly* what is needed to get to the end of the bar by the official launch day...

There is a line between too much grind and not enough grind. PGI doesn't know that line, which is not surprising. Even with the previous earnings it would take you many months (I think someone calculated it was at least 6) to buy all the mechs, by which time there would be another 6 chassis.

Or you know their quota is 2 PP packs for level 1, 3 for level 2 and 4 for level 3.
