They see your affiliation, the picture of the hand holding a sword in green and gold.

They might not think you are a 'goon,' as I edited my other post, sometimes it is because you are Liao and the Cappellans had... issues in the original BT.

Fans of the Grey Death Legions may hate Kurita due to all the problems their founder had with them. Mercs might also have a hate on for Kurita, because for the longest time and esecially at this point in the timeline they had a hatred for mercs.

There is a vast history for this universe and a new player is going to have problems navigating it.

It is possible to score a team kill with LRM's, but it requires the cooperation of the team mate. So, if you kill an enemy while the LRM inbound symbol is showing, DO NOT STAND ON TOP OF THE WRECK!

It's possible to do it without the cooperation of the teammate, too. I TK'd a friendly assault mech with my LRM boat C1 Catapult shortly after ECM was released and the range on TAG was increased.

I was standing up on Thunder Mountain in River City Night (I think it's Out of Bounds now) raining down LRMs on anything I could get a lock on. With thermal on, I could see two assault mechs brawling out in the water, but couldn't get a lock on either. So I tagged one of them and got the red triangle. Perfect! Fired my LRM-15s as one, solid hit. I was able to hold my tag lock, so I just kept firing. Down goes the assault mech. Woot! I helped my team mate and got a kill! Match score screen...nope, 1 TK 0 kills. FORK!

So, to whoever that was, sorry, bro.

The funniest instance of friendly fire (resulting in a team kill) was a joker running a Spider. The second-to-last enemy had been destroyed, and the Spider player, who had been harassing him with flamers, ran around trying to torch whatever was in front of him.

Eventually, a friendly Atlas was in front of him.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFT, went the Spider, torching the Altas' back. FFFFFFFFFFT, FFFFFFFFFT.

FFFFFFFT.

The Atlas stopped. The Spider stopped. Slowly, like they always do, the Atlas turned and looked down at the Spider.

The Spider looked up at the Atlas.

Three seconds went by.

FFT, went the Spider with his flamer, and was immediately turned inside out by every weapon the Atlas owned.

My most anoying case of friendly fire: I drop in with an Highlander-HM, Right from the start i notice that my back armor is orange. paired with the sound of pewpew. i look around everyone looking another way offcourse..

i was like.
"Ok fine, Nobody is going to apoligize so it was prolly just a mistake, dont worry about it.."

10 seconds later it happens again. i look behind me ( Mind you Back armor is Red now ) Very pissed off i start typing; "Who is the ******* that keeps shooting me in the back.." no response obviously.

A fight erupts around Target Theta on Frozen city. we win easily and run back towards Epsilon to defend it. There he was. an single Highlander 732. ( Friendly. ) as i start walking towards him he shoots me.. twice..

So i start the convo " Are you the ******* that shot me in the back?", get back : "Trololol.."

At this point, Im thinking : This is the *** obviously. now he knows i know, he will stop..... far from it..... He shoots away my last back armor and leaves me in orange Core. me being obviously pissed off beyond believe, Turn around and cockpit him in an alpha, at wich he starts screaming and yelling and cussing..

Idiots be idiots. Cant help them

you said kill on sight, you didnt say kill on sight as the enemy.
Plus; unless they go to the forums (which even the company running this game says is a small % of the players) then how will they know what I am? Well had I not uninstalled anyways. Its kinda moot now lol

I didnt say kill, I said shot... but ya it might as well be the same.. what you are failing to see is you are venting your frustration at ME when I held no ill will toward you which you still failed to see...
Some players WILL still kill you team or not simply cuz you are a Goon.
see my first post in this thread under "Revenge Tards" section.

MOST gaming communities hate the goons... the reasons for that is as an internet culture, they are largely griefers in any game they play.. That reputation proceeds them wherever they go.
Amusingly enuff, one of the main reasons people dislike them here is becuse the goons, in a drop often will curse people out and talk to them very disrespectfully and if the person says anything about it, then the goons will TK them...
This behaviour is what they find amusing and the community reacts to it.

They are Blacklisted by many groups, clans, merc units and houses...

If thats something you want to be a part of, then thats on you. It doesnt matter to me.
However, If you find people are shooting you then that "may" be a factor in it.
and sometimes... sometimes, people are just a**holes.

Yes indeed, One of my closest lance mates and I were absolutely mauling this Jagger DD ac2 boat(iirc) when he took ammo explosion and critted to death, his triangular targeting retical remained, and when my Founders Atlas D let loose with AC20 2srm6 and 2 LL the slug + missiles passed through the now smoking corpse and killed my lancemate.......( needless to say i took LB10X to the back LT about 10 mins later) that damned dogg of war. Sometimes timing,Lag,and excitement can result in FF. Only when intentional is it really bothersome, accidents happen.

I was in my double AC/10 Cat K2 a while ago and there was a freindly commando harrasing a larger mech. I fired both AC/10s at the enemy from 700m away and the freindly commando played the role of meat sheild. I stripped all his back armour. I appologised and he still snapped at me. I dont blame him for snapping, but i did appologise.

So watch where your team mates walk, and dont snap if you get an appology.

Also a good idea not to walk in front of someone while they're fighting with somone else, especially if you or them have a high ping.
