Hey, in some places of the world they really want that roasted poodle. However, those places probably dont have the infrastructure to play online games.

This "beta" is less than one month away from what they tell us is full release. The "Lol beta" excuse for everything will soon be dead and buried, once and for all.
I don't sense you have a lot of experience with software development... but regardless, for the moment we are still in beta, things will change, and anyone who fails or refuses to understand that does so at their own risk.

That's not a real "fix". It's a terrible workaround and yes "Fast Fire" screws with this.

every patch people said the 0.5 was going to have issues. that it was too arbitrary.

but do they listen? no

I've seen people demonstrate over time that this doesn't happen often enough. Even some of the guys I play with ask "what has changed"... not to say they are ignorant... but even Blizzard patches force feed you patch notes so you have no excuse.

Until they can directly download that data to a player brain directly, there will always be an excuse for said "ignorance". Why do you think the acronym RYFM never got much traction. LOL :)

I've never been one of the PGI-bashing crowd.

However, the sudden decommitment to putting 3PV and 1PV players in the same games has really shocked me.

And not a word of explanation for this important change of policy has been offered. It's just blithely mentioned in the patch notes, and that's that.

PGI, in the unlikely event that you're reading this... this has fundamentally changed my perception of your professionalism and credibility. I honestly don't feel I can trust what you say any more.

I figured a nerf was coming... it was too effective and I was vouching for a nerf (I didn't know how far it would go). I'll have to see this in action to make a proper judgement on the changes.

Indeed. If it's not a PPC, it will be nerfed in some way or another. If it is a PPC, well expect buffs. :)

They need to have the timer for Heat penalty be a % of a weapon's cooldown..

changing the weapon isn't going to fix anythign when the system is broke

Cant wait to get on. Honestly the coolest addition to this patch is the Lights that tell of the bay doors are open!.. Coolness.

Keep up the great work!

See you all on the field of battle.

Cheers!

This is my favorite post of the thread.

Bro, the patch notes say the missile bay door lights don't work. They were there before and now they are non-functional.

Well, honestly, I'd be really upset too if I was given a roasted poodle ... and I don't even like poodles.

I really want to break out in a string of profanities right now about this mixed 3rd person view thing. I also want to scream to the world how I feel about PGI but I don't want to get banned from the forums. I will say that they did lie to us. Right to our faces. Bold faced. They said that 3rd person view was going to be only used in the Training Grounds. Then they said that we would not have to play against other players in different views. Why did PGI have to get the license to make this game? It's one thing to be bad at developing it's completely another to be unethical and untrustworthy.

HOnestly, I know how you feel but this how I look at it. I have been craving for a new MW game for what..over a decade now..well almost. Since BattleTech is dead in my area this is the closest I can get to it. Also, hands down this version is the only version to come close to MW Mercenaries. The game is in its infant stages and has lots of potential. I am willing to deal with the little things to enjoy 100 tons of steel marching!

Now to only make it better!..Clan Hell's Horses!

Uh, guys and gals, please remember:

THIS IS A BETA! WE ARE HERE TO TEST.

So quit QQing, test the patch and post your feedback. Our job is to QA the thing so that they can make improvments -- not act like a bunch of overindulged preschoolers. Take your job seriously : test, test some more and give feedback. All the rest of the drama should be dropped until after release.

There have been people saying "lol beta" as an excuse for everything since closed beta started. Well, they can call it beta, but they are accepting cash payments for stuff. And now the "beta" is less than a month from being over. "Release" is next month.

Furthermore, a big part of the issue here is that many people feel that the players have given PGI lots of feedback and in response PGI has either ignored it completely or made promises and then broke them.

Trust is not supposed to be given. It's earned. Giving your trust to any one person or thing will get you burned.

well one player i know told me over 1000%, you tell me 171%, yet nobody shows me the math. :)

Still I think 171% increase for a weapon that generates no heat and weighs 2.5 tons for 3 of them with a good amount of ammo is a bit much. 104% increase seems a bit more on track.

2.71 dps is a lot of damage for a no heat half ton weapon that barely consumes ammo. not to mention you are very quickly losing all your weapons and heat sinks in those unarmored components.

I have been running laser/machine gun builds on my firebrand, and killing *most* heavy and under mechs by double legging them. If a mech had reduced armor on it's legs, I could double leg it in under 10 seconds. Also I ripped off many yen-lo-wang AC20's during the weekend.

A slight machine gun nerf was needed haha
