What are the chances that the high speed 3PV weirdness is in the patch? I'm still making sure the patch is 100% airtight (running the MWO Repair Tool after patching).

Ghost heat, C-bill nerf and now the 3rd person view LIES! At what point do we stop giving these people our money?

For me, it was about a year ago.

The great second... no wait third... fourth... frak, how many times have we been through this? I lost count. Whatever, I have popcorn. Carry on.

This company is the worst. I bet I'm stuck with my Phoenix package... because I'd get my money back in a heartbeat. Serves me right for thinking they would be honest and reliable.

I believe they have to refund your money as the item is not available yet.

People have had refunds, better contact support quick before they withdraw the option.

What do lies look like? They look like this:

Posted 21 March 2013 - 04:38 PM
Here are the facts.
  • Yes we are currently working on a 3rd person option for MWO.
  • There is no ETA for when 3rd person will be available.
  • Players will never be forced to use or play against other players using 3rd person.
Why add 3rd person?
  • Reduces friction for non-MechWarrior players, non-core players, and expands the MWO market to a broader audience. It helps to make the game more accessible and less intimidating.
  • Offers up a different style of gameplay and tactics.
You will have the following options as a player:
  • Play against 1st and 3rd person players.
  • Play against 3rd person players only.
  • Play against 1st person players only.
  • Players can set their preference in the options menu, or during the launch phase before matchmaking.
General Information
  • We have not decided on the final implementation of what third person will look like yet.
  • We are very aware of the design and balancing challenges faced by adding a 3rd person option and will address these through exhaustive private and public testing before pushing any 3rd person features live.
  • It is possible 3rd person will be made available in other regions first. Typically 3rd person is more widely used outside of North America.
  • We understand players may be concerned about matchmaking and further segmenting the player base. So are we. Before going live with a 3rd person option, we plan to investigate and solve any potential issues further fragmentation may cause.
We would like to invite your constructive feedback on how you would like to see 3rd person executed.
  • Standard forum rules apply, please be kind, courteous, and clearly communicated your ideas or opinions.
  • This is not the place to say you dislike 3rd person.
When we get closer to launching 3rd person, expect an official Command Chair post detailing our planned 3rd person feature set.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One poster mentioned something that I thought was more than fair. List some of the ideas we've been toying with in order for it to work. These are just SOME of the ideas we've been discussing:
  • Camera is locked horizontally to the torso. This is not a peek around corners mode.
  • Camera is locked vertically to the torso, you can only look up and down as far as your torso can.
  • When approaching cover (to rocks/building etc), the camera pulls IN so FoV is greatly reduced when standing close to something.
  • 3rd Person is not a free-cam.
  • HUD will be significantly reduced if not completely removed.
  • LOS targetting is NOT affected by 3rd person. If you cannot target it from 1st person, you cannot target it in 3rd.
  • ONLY the targeted enemy (Press R) can be identified in 3rd person... all other HUD indicators are turned off.
Again, these are a few of the ideas we're working on. Please keep that in mind when posting.

I can confirm that there are no seperate queues. They even added the damn buttons for hardcore mode...but they're greyed out. I'm predicting they'll be taken out entirely when U.I. 2.0 hits.

... Why would they add buttons for a mode just to remove them later...

This to me says they are working on adding separate ques, but the system is not ready yet. Or maybe they only activate separate ques when enough people are logged on to warrant it?

I like the balance adjustments. Sure the SSRM2 does more damage than the SRM2, but id say, the SRM2 just needs its fire rate upped and this will balance out. Reducing its cooldown to a flat 3 seconds, to alpha and cycle with Mlas, would give it a real niche. SSRM2 were needed some buff from where it was. I know this will get the SRM2 fans mad, but really, who was using these? SSRM2 were better, except in weight, before this change. The difference was so small, i chose which one i wanted based on whether i wanted the lockon reticule to display or not. Only SRMs worth taking prior to this was SRM4 and SRM6.

LBX and medium torso changes are also very good. I didnt get to play 3pv, so i dont have any good/bad feelings about this. Although i am happy to be able to see my paint schemes. I didnt play mechs with more than 3xMGs, they didnt do enough damage to boat on fragile Jaegers, so i dont know if this change is too much or not. Hopefully this nerf doesnt make them totally useless.

Love the torso changes to Mediums. But i wish my cicada had gotten +15% twist speed. Looking forward to this patch all in all.

Steaks weigh more, so there's part of it. Still, I think 2.0 would have been fine. We'll see how 2.5 goes.

Right in the "somewhere near a 30 pt Alpha" window, before Ghost Heating needs to be applied.

That is 6 x 2 x 2.5. Spread all over dem Bones. :)

What the hell is this, you add 3pv despite huge outcry against it, you say we will NEVER have to play the mixed mode, but here we are locked into mixed mode with 3pv as a !default! option. What the hell is going through your heads? Do you really just hate your player base?

Edit: Everyone should flood support about this ******** and refuse to play till it is fixed.

Put a cool-down timer on F4 so you can't just flip views? That drone needs to refuel, you know?

A better idea would be to just lock them in that mode for the match. Or only be able to switch once.

To be fair, was Sarah actually playing the game herself or just watching her dad play?

MGs were finally in a usable state for the first time in the history of this game.

So, PGI nerfed them.

No, they were a little OP. If you played with them, you'd know. My CDA-3C was litterally melting stuff off mechs left and right in fractions of seconds.

It's a bit more than that; remember they do the regular 0.1 - 0.3 per projectile that crits, then the 15% of crit damage gets added to that.

After seeing Koniving's numbers above, I started thinking if there's indeed a mistake in my formulas. But I think not. That regular 0.1 - 0.3 is wrong. If a single 0.1 dmg bullet crits 3 times, it does 0.3 * crit dmg multiplier to components and 15% of that to IS. But the regular dmg to structure is always 0.1, it's not 0.3 even when you get 3 crits, right?

EDIT: Think of it this way, if the regular dmg to IS would get multiplied by crits, a Gauss rifle would do 45 pts base dmg when 3-critting. That cannot be.

Also heard that the numbers aren't Konivings, but yours :)
