Ok this has been happening since the patch where Terra Therma was implemented, but each patch has had an increase in latency, Sure I'm in Australia the redheaded stepchild when it comes to internets, but to Go from 250-280 ms per game to 400+ per game now is just crazy. I took time getting to reply here to make sure no other factors or variables my end could contribute to the issue. Sadly with all the other online games I play This one is the only one showing a progressive increase in latency. and I am not alone, my local lance mates all hover around the same latency, this is an increase we all have noticed. Please address this guys.

Since the patch I have been seeing a heavy increase in rubber banding. Mechs will walk in place and then warp around. This is the first time I have had problems with this.

The patch had a positive effect on my machine performance. FPS/ping is same, game runs a little smoother now for me.

I'm in Oceania region and my ping has jumped from 300 average to 400 after the patch. Every few games it returns to about 300. 400 ping is barely playable without hsr. This is a BIG issue. Forget 3VP. This is a priority and it's affecting many of my clanmates. Note: not isp related.

wow... just wow... Thought I'd come back and give it another go this evening... completely unplayable even with a ping well under 100ms. this makes me sad. I hope they don't plan to go to launch like this. If this is the result of 12 v 12 it would be better to scrap it than saddle MWO with a reputation for this kind of gameplay. If this was my first time playing, there never would be a second time.

It's so strange to read about worst FPS performance after this patch, because for the first time I registered a significant improvement in FPS! Before patch was around 10 FPS, after patch is above 20 FPS. So, for me, you've done a great work this time! Please, do not rollback... ;)

Connection seems wildly unstable now, with it fluxing between my usual 50 ping and over 1000 ping. I've noticed pretty universally higher pings on all the servers, too. Rubberbanding and having to aim several meters in front of mechs to register hits is back too. It feels like we're back in Closed Beta all over again!

Strange, my FPS and Ping have been quite stable last couple months. Before the summer I was happy playing with medium-high(ish) settings around 30-50fps, but then something bigger was built and I had to drop to low-settings with medium textures.
I feel this game is demanding more from cpu than gpu. I have an old Q6600 but somewhat new HD6970. Game runs around 35-55, 'medium' textures, rest of them at 'low', v-sync and glow-effects enabled, low motion blur and fullscreen1080-resolution.

I'm happy with the latency improvements and the 'snappier' feel this game has now. Especially with ballistics. Last year I had about 160-180ping, now it is around 120. Last year I didn't have much chance at aiming AutoCannons or GG's because the latency, between command and the actual shot happening, was random. Now I can really trust my (in)accurate aiming skills.

My location is Finland.

I seem to be having the opposite issue compared to everyone else. My FPS has not changed, but my ping has gone to hell. Before, I was under 100ms. Now I see 500-600 regularly (saw 850 in a game today), with only a few games at my normal 60ish.

And I don't live in Australia. I'm an hour from Toronto.

FPS down by 20 during combat (was at around 60 before) and ping more or less the same with ~130.

update edit: There is this valley in frozen city (a3/a2) where my frames suddenly went down to around 1 per 20 seconds!!! As soon as i got out i was back at around 60 fps.

With this patch I've been getting a lot of teleporting mechs, massive lag spike where everyone freezes and in the last couple of days complete disconnects. It's really infuriating
  • How had the patch generally affected your performance?
Ping has increased by about 50-100. Lag spikes and disconnects now occur fairly frequently. Never had issues before

How had the patch generally affected your performance?
It did not change at thing, the same seems to suffer horrible FPS drops in the mech bay and during online matches.. Everything runs perfectly well in training grounds.

Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes.
During online drops and matches, the game's FPS drops dramatically, even in the lowest settings. Usually it happens when there is a lot of CPU processing like plenty of players shooting on the maps or plenty of particles, objects and events occurring at the same time during a drop.

What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
Between Low and Medium.. I am playing with low settings now but it doesn't really make a massive difference.

Average FPS ingame and in the menus for previous patch and latest patch (Press F9 to see your FPS)

I personally use my laptop, which is not the ideal platform for such a game but I did take notes down recently and noticed that my FPS fluctuates on average between the below digits, according to the following game modes/settings on a 1024x768 resolution:
- Training Grounds (Low settings, Terra Therma, 60-41 FPS)
- Training Grounds (Medium settings, Terra Therma, 50-28 FPS)
- Actual Match/ Drop (Low settings, Forest Colony Snow, 28-12 FPS)
- Actual Match/ Drop (Medium settings, Terra Therma, 31-15 FPS)
- Mech Lab (Low settings, 34-14 FPS)
- Mech Lab (Medium settings, 25-20 FPS)

System specs
Intel Core i5, 2.53 Ghz
4 GB Ram
ATi Mobility Radeon HD5730, 2 GB
Windows 7 64 bit

Your advertised internet connection speed / Geographic location
1Mbps, Dubai, UAE

Same for me. Every game at least one situation where all movement freezes (everyone is just moonwalking in place) and suddenly - after about 10 seconds - I get teleported back into the game, being dead of course. Really really getting on my nerves! Its like that for at least 2 weeks now.

3.5Mbps - Germany

EDIT: Today, September 1st, its totally unplayable. Just warping around and freezing.

Maybe it was something that was up before, but it appears it's working a lot better today. Hitreg almost worked and no moonwalking / lag spikes
