PGI strikes again! Just to clarify things PGI, balance does not mean making some good changes in a patch and throwing in something really dumb like forced 1vp vs. 3vp.

Not only is it a bad system, but it's poorly implemented. It should require space and tonnage, and should be destroyable. Should be tactical or scouting equipment, but instead it's just an advantage for high-alpha builds.

Additionally, disabling 3PV should be instant, as it's not the pilot in the aerial drone, and can simply stop looking at the drone feed while it re-mounts the mech.

It has tactical benefits, but is largely unwanted, and is a huge waste of effort that could have gone into actually improving the game.

I agree with most of these points. I wish their intent was NOT to come up with a new "3PV" game play mode, but rather a tactical surveillance drone eg. a module instead, which you have to replenish like those UAV drones, except this drone is for your eyes only. It can be disrupted by ECM, controlled at a slow speed and maybe even give off false readings to the enemy. The cons would be you lose sight of your own mech, if you decide to switch back to first person view, the drone will self-destruct in a few seconds unless activated again, but will only last for so long in the air. It's not hard to imagine what you can do with this and still have it balanced so everyone can use it and not hate it.

In any case, I hope the devs can work something out so both sides of this debate can agree on something and feel good about it.

You still can't see **** captain. there's still a building blocking a considerable amount of your field of view. There may be a mech in that blocked FoV and unless he has a seismic sensor, that Spider would never know it.

Lol, really?

So you're argument is that 3pv doesn't help you because, despite the huge sections the FOV does allow you to watch (approximately 120 degrees), there's a tiny 20 degree chunk that you still can't quite see.

Apparently everyone doesn't realize 3rd person is gimped and is basically streamlines the HUD and displays your mech so you can understand how the mech moves while you learn to play. Like literally, I've played 10 matches today, for one, ONE, ONE, ONE, ONE minute of one match did i decide "3PV would have actually helped there." Its not game breaking, its not game ruining, its a tool for a new player to learn how a mech operates. Nothing more.

And good day to you, you whining buggers who don't even bother to try it so you realize how much it sucks.

Lol, you admit you didn't really try it and say it is fine then go one and say people who haven't used it a lot can't say it is bad..

Did you notice the AIMBOT? did you notice you can TOGGLE it on and off in game? Are you Stupid or Bought?

So how do you learn the game if you neither see your legs, nor an indicator where they are pointed nor even a map?

Then you obviously don't play in organised teams, or particularly well from a team perspective. This is game breaking.

So I'm not part of a merc unit, big deal. It does not invalidate my opinion one bit.

I am not quitting the game, but I for certain won't support it anymore with my money. I can't trust developers who so blatantly state one thing and then do another, and ignore the many time repeated opinion of the community, confirmed by several polls. I have seen the 3pv and it's nothing special, I'd say it's useless even, but it's a matter of principle. From now on I won't believe a word of what I read in the Command Chair and I won't spend a single dollar on the game until the attitude here changes significantly. This is not how you do things if you want to be respected.

Not spending money isn't enough. You're still providing content for the game (i.e. as a mech on the field, a player to fill the queue).

The only message that will get them to change is for them to start loosing players.

If you love MW4-MWLL style NR gameplay, then you have to quit. Now.

Actually it does in this case, Vanguard.

This is a "feature" that can be exploited ESPECIALLY by teams. It doesn't really help you (if you aren't a jumpsniper) - but if you can scout for your team, which is on teamspeak, without being shot at since you are completely in cover it is a major improvement.

Ah yes, THAT pic. Seen it already, and you know what? There is STILL a building blocking not only a significant portion of your field of view, but also your sensors. I'm still not convinced.

Right..... because unless the little moving robots have red arrows over them, everyone assumes they're an illusion.

The best way to show displeasure in MW:O features is a boycott. ranting about beyond a simple, "too bad, PGI, it was good while it lasted" will not concern PGI.

Positioning is king in league matches. Knowing enemy positions is tantamount to winning. 3rd person lets you see far more than first person does. Thus, third person is a tool to cheat corners and hills and cheat enemies out of tactical maneuvers.

Feedback turned into whining right from the start.
Not a single normal person here it seems.

3pv does not offer any real advantage. If you can see over your cover, you can be seen even easier (blinking drone) and you can't target/spot/shoot for your team.
So that concludes this, if nobody has any real arguments.

Now for the "lie"...
Would you like to get seperate queue for ecm, modules, framerate, brightness settings, thermal vision, weightclasses, us/eu/asia regions and so on... ?
That would be stupid, right? Then don't complain about a reasonable change to the game, just because you are lazy kids that don't want to adapt.
Don't cry just for the sake of it!

PGI could have added the queues and changed stuff like MM to work with them, but decided to not waste the time as there is no reason.
"Just because" they had planed it otherwise doesn't mean they can never change it.

I really really can't say on how many levels that is wrong. Let try not to speak about if its needed or not and yes it has disadvantages but the one thing that really bothers me is, that PGI lied to the player base. They said there will be separated queues and now a few hours before the patch goes live there is a statement: 'Well no extra queues, like intended'. That's just not the way you deal with your supporter and even more not with your customers.

So its absolutely not surprising that the player base is upset.

This essentially forces EVERYONE to use 3PV whether they want to or not, since it provides a competitive advantage in its ability to provide line of sight where none should exist.

LOL

Have you actually tried playing the game in 3PV?

It's balls.

Even with the ability to see around cover better, it's still not worth it.

Just equip seismic and stick in 1st person.

PGI are the biggest bunch of liars ever. No advantage? Lies you can clearly see over ridges. Hardcore mode for people who want 1pv only? Lies, say goodbye to Mechwarrior, say hello to world of tanks. I'm disgusted at myself for investing in this game early on. Shame on you PGI, you have betrayed every Battletech fan alive.
