Gotta love the whole "no significant advantages over 1PV" ****.

So, peeking over ridges to prepare JJ shots is not a significant advantage?

What is this, a Kafka novel? I'm way past playing the part of Lando and the altered deal by now. I could accept that the initial comments about 3PV a year ago did leave room for implementation down the road. But this here. We were promised this would not happen.

Really, this is probably the worst management of feature introduction I've seen. This actually beats Incarna by now.

you dont get the point PGI,a reminder:
  • Players will never be forced to use or play against other players using 3rd person.
your words.....not more,not less...





the problem is NOT 3pv,the problem is you are NOT holding your promisses,thats why everybody is mad..And you are not little children you knowed what would happen if you do what you did...we was holdin your back,suppoprted you,many of the guys more than a year,we payed for the chance to get a awesome game,the community had many real good ideas and you treat us like dumb babies. You dont care nothin about us. I really say not often something but this time you broke our trust in your words and that is not to excuse in this way..
look my psots,bann me if ya want...i really was mostly behind you i really mostly didn say nothing.
but to implement 3pv this way was a bad decission from you.

What gives? Get promised that no 1st person player will play against 3rd person and then disable the queues! Can't express how frustrated I am by this. Performance really jerky in 3rd person, way to wreck a game. Call me when the Hardcore modes are enabled.

The more I play this game with 3rd person view, the more I dislike it. I will simply shelf the game until a 1pv queue is implemented.

I like the Idea that it is either a consumable or just a module but it can be destroyed. that way it has to be a choice you have to live with other than taking another module that might help you more

Well I have not played yet today (since the patch), but I did play in the 3PV test and I found the implementation quite reasonable and basically balanced. I am sure it will afford some tactical advantage to those that use it well and toggle in and out of it frequently, but all considered I think if you are going to have a 3PV implementation, the one they have produced is quite reasonable.

That said, I am VERY upset with the poor communication on this topic. It was clearly communicated that there would be separate queues early on, then without any communication beyond the patch notes we find out that idea is gone. Furthermore we get this bit of marketing speak to explain the future plans:

Why not just come out and tell us what you plan to do? What is this "different solution" and what "wish list items" do you hope to address. Making unsupported vague statements immediately after you decided to change plans and surprise the community with that change is not a good way to earn/keep the respect and trust of the community.

Bryan, I really hope your team has something under their sleeves while this feature was committed to build, otherwise things are going to be quite messy. Is there a particular reason why you're allowing switch views? Playing in either view is a choice in lifestyle, not tactical advantage. Is it not hard to simply segregate the views? A dedicated 3rd person queue with mandatory 3PV but with all UI features restored as well as arm lock disabled. With everyone in 3PV... who's going to complain? And have a dedicated 1PV queue as well. Simple enough yes?

I tried out 3PV in the testing grounds and I did love it. It felt awesome to see my mech move, shoot, and animate and had it been feature complete with all UI features available, I'd frankly choose it as my preferred option to play the game in non-competitive settings. However by merging the two views and trying to balance one another out with disadvantages is tricky and is prone to abuse. Bryan, please, don't make rash choices, and I hope you're right about this.

Are you now going to allow the CW to be played using 3rd person view aswell??
Are you going to destroy the one thing this game was promising that made sense?

PGI, what you have done now by putting in 3rd person view and not activating the 1st person only que is beyond anything I can ever forgive..
That being said, though I will always be scarred by the betrayel you have made today.
I will still give you the benefit of doubt seeing as the 1st person mode only que is not completely out of the picture yet, but you have got to pull your **** together and start realizing that you are pushing more and more people away.

Furthermore this change forced my hand...
I have now joined the "sig people" by carrying their sig...
You have pushed yet another person into their grasp, how many more will you push away before you realize this?

Even worse... with no 1st person only mode comming anytime soon you are forcing me closer and closer to asking for a refund on the 80 bucks PP-package I bought.
I have not even activated my prem time that I got cuz I was afraid I would end up in a situation where I might want to return the product that did not live up to the promises I was made when I bought it.

I for your sake hope that there are not alot who think like I do, since refunding too much of the PP-packages could be a severe blow to you.
None the less I have no qualms in stating my dissatisfaction with your product as is.

I honestly don't care either way if its in or not. I just probably like to see it become a destructible item eventually, like a UAV or a arm. Once its gone for that match, thats it.

Although I am one who supports the implementation of 3PV (though I still think it needs some serious rework before it was implement), I view not including the 1PV-only queues from the get-go was a huge PR blunder. It does not matter if there are no advantages. Some players hate 3PV so much that they will refuse to play in the mixed queues. They simply cannot be reasoned with. They refuse to admit that 3PV isn't as bad as they think it is. They refuse to admit that MW was always a shooter and never a simulator. They just don't want to what it, period. Now some of them were willing to compromise with the separate queues, but you even took that compromise away from them. Now, their only recourse is to spread as much negative feedback to various gaming websites in order to dissuading new players from joining the game.
