lmao
imho 3rd person is fine. yes some bugs as Paul notes due to FOV and buildings. As in the past jumpshake, no doubt if 3rd person sniping/peeking becomes an issue PGI will address it.
and dare i say it...
ITS STILL BETA (gotta get that in while i still can)
now wheres ui 2.0 PGI?

Just as they have addressed regular jumpsiniping?

To recreate, take a Spider in River City - Training Grounds. Get to that spot and jam your face directly into that corner (still doesn't happen yet). Now look down as far as the Spider can look. Bam! It happens. The raytrace for the camera is breaking through that particular spot in geometry. We are having an engineer look into why this is happening. Again. While there, look away in any direction just SLIGHTLY and the camera returns to the position it's supposed to be in. Very nice bug find and as mentioned, we will look into what's causing this.
Great management of sources.
Instead to use this engineer to make a Training drone, you waste him to develop this abomination.
Genius, PGI.

I believe that this is no "single bug" as stated earlier by Paul (if I am not mistaken). If it is a bug though - get new testers, it took 5 minutes to find those places - including loading screens.
What testers? They are at best classified as "casual gamers"... people who get to play the game but probably don't always care about the details.

I've always been very supportive of PGI. Even when game changes happened that I didn't like. I've always tried to be a voice of reason amidst the chorus of rage.
But the problem I have now is they could say they'd never have any of the above, and I wouldn't believe them for a second. Not a moment. Because at this point, we've been given so many absolutes that have been deliberately, completely ignored.
I can't defend any of that anymore.
I'm still playing, and I'm still having lots of fun. No separate queues doesn't really impact me at all, because I don't really care. Not that I'm unaware of the advantages gained, but rather that... well, I just don't care.
But I can't defend PGI anymore.
Welcome to the other side. We have plenty of space for you. We don't bite.

I've expressed my opinion here, not going to harp on it. We've all got until Sept 17th to get our Metacritic accounts and share our opinions of the game, good and bad, and see if MWO goes the way of Sim City or if any major gaming mags pick up articles about 'integrity in game design' or the like. Or perhaps the people on the forums are 'on an island' and gimped 3PV will make new players flock to MWO and the Gauss/PPC meta is awesome and, well, all the other issues that get mocked by PGIs leadership.
One think about Russ's or whoever's comments to feel like digging up... is that they don't look at it as a "how can this be exposed in a negative sense?" I get the feeling they are catering to some inner yes-man in the company, and let everyone else be damned. The thing is, the game isn't supposed to be one person's "idea" of balance... it's supposed to be what benefits everyone... and this particular benefit skews "their actual vision"... you have to find the flaws in the your idea, no matter how insignificant. These things tend to come back to bite you in the arse had you not considered it in the first place.
Competitive play is a factor in this game. There's no way in heck that this game can even be considered an e-sport... there's just one dominant type of play that exists and everything else is not so hot. That's a problem and it has yet to be truly addressed or rectified... only mitigated slightly while hurting everyone else that doesn't abuse it. It's just a tragedy...

Its a beta test, so test it. you'll have seperate queues (as promised) when beta finishes in a few weeks, for those that want 1PV, press F4.
oh no, hes peeking around the corner at you. he's also revealing his position, but feel free to ignore that drone and pretend its a weather satalite instead. Its not like he can shoot lasers at you from the drone (yet mwhahahaha).

Nononono...
Hold on a second there. They did not make it suck to "please" the 1st person only crowd.
They did it so the first person crowd would be less angry when they pretty much dropped the idea of two different queues.
I highly doubt ANY 1st person only player would give a damn about how good or bad your 3rd person experience was, for all i care you could have a rock solid no disadvantage 3rd person.. all i ask for is that i dont be forced to play with 3rd person users.
I gotta disagree with the guys that found the 3rd person view to be a disappointment, I don't know what they were expecting, but it has clear advantages, I found it very easy to use and had no difficulties coping with the camera behavior.
Don't get me wrong, I hate 3rd person view, but if it is in the game, you have to learn how to use it (or stop playing). I remapped the view key so I can toggle back and forth easily and with-in a couple games, view switching is as second nature as zoom.
If we had a 1st person only queue, I'd be in there, but since we don't, well it is the same as MW4, eventually you end-up in 3rd person jump sniping.....
pretty sad,..... no-queus.... that was a big change. They really needed to telegraph that several weeks before..... certainly feels like a lie.
I can't put this into any better words than this post (#21 by Natasha)..... pretty much says it all in very few words.

And PGI conveniently ignores that while the enemy can see the drone i can tell their EXACT position AND whatever mechs they have, where are they moving or looking.
Not to mention that i can see up to 1200m aswell AND on Caustic the drone is not visible from 1200m that's for damn sure, the "fog" blocks the light. No idea about maps as it changes since the Test server and i only played one game, before getting fed up.

It's because it's hard to keep things straight when you are lying.
3PV is about money. It's about money for many reasons, not least of which is the preference for 3PV in Asia.
They're going no where in Asia. The Battle-tech Universe is way to kind to the Japanese and way to harsh with the Chinese. Also the system specs preclude them from running in net cafes here... add to that their history of duplicity and I don't see them getting a joint venture approval without handing over a significant portion of the rights to M$ Kongzhong... either way... give me my Founders cash back so I canspend it on Star Citizen

"Oh, a red light. Clearly they have a scout there." - Too bad the 4 non-moving assaults in 1pv waiting just out of any possible sight around the corner won't show up.

Most importantly: You Lied. You promised us we would not have to play against it, and here it is....
I fail to see how you can fathom people actually wanting it when the VAST majority of your player base constantly told you no, we don't want it.
If you want it for new players, make it so that you cannot toggle it on or off during a game, bare minimum. Better case do that and give us separate que's like you promised. Even better remove it and leave it only useable in the training grounds.
You really screwed this one up PGI. The game is rapidly turning into a troll fest. Fix it quick, or it'll die a painful ugly death.

As I've said before... they don't look beyond the implications of the idea. Sure it may not be an "obvious" advantage, but this is "information warfare". Trading one mech's position for the portion of an enemy group mech composition, location, and damage extent is an easy trade to make. Anyone who doesn't understand that sacrificing one so the rest can do the real work is not a complicated concept.
Of course, it doesn't matter... it must stay as is, because... PGI.

I'm seeing conflicting statements regarding refunds. Some have related to the time period back to which purchases (MC was specified) could be refunded (Made mention of March 22 2013). Many people have sighted the following:
http://www.competiti.../eng/03133.html
...The position I will be taking is, (We'll see how this stacks up) I am returning ALL of the items I have (Back to the Founders). I won't have them any more, so saying "you already have them" is moot because I won't "have them" because I am returning them for a refund.

I don´t think so.
So much for the keeping your promises part (very much like the consumables a few months past, remember?) and you dear PGI can only hope that most of the MWO player base will be like this:
Sadly (for you) I am not and seriously I never wanted to write anything like this, cause it always seemed immature... but PGI is just one step away from landing on the biggest **** of the year list right next to the other company there, that puts spyware in their games.
KEEP YOUR PROMISES - HOTFIX THE HARDCORE MODE ASAP - I WILL NOT WAIT TWO WEEKS UNTIL NEXT PATCH (OR SO)
I´m so close to hit uninstall and never come back again.
