#saveMWO Community Town Hall #3

The Discussion thread

The next town hall meeting will take place on August 22nd, 2013 at 9PM EDT. This is the same time as all of the other town hall meetings.

Gentlemen and other posters of this thread:

I needn't remind you that this is a safe space for discussion on all things related to the above topic. I will not tolerate any violation's of the CoC, terms of service, and the like. This is not to say that I am not tolerant of dissenting opinion - this is precisely why this thread is here, and it is for the purpose of community outreach and a healthy discussion of the game, it's successes and it's shortcomings.

If you feel that a poster is making you upset, do not respond - you are letting them win. If you are posting in this thread to troll or derail it, your opinion and commentary is much appreciated and valued and we thank you for your passion regarding this game, which is something that we all share. If you have cogent points to make, make them, and use those limited entertainment electrons in the best way possible. I trust that you can all behave like rational adults in this thread.

Prove me right. If you are unsure how you should post without getting into trouble, just think to yourself, "How Would Andersbot Post?" or "HWAP?". It will get you through the angry times.

Below are links to previous content if you wish to catch yourself up on what has occurred previously. Your arguments and opinions will have greater weight if we're all on the same page with what has previously been discussed and debated.

Official Links More Content! UPDATE:

In addition to having more individuals signing the letter, we now have 26 groups signed up, some of them representing the largest organized groups currently playing MWO. I think so, given the timing.

It wouldn't matter if you had. They can't rescind premium time, and won't deny you your refund if you've used it. See: countless other Phoenix Refugees, myself included.

PGI is captaining the ******* Hindenburg.

I would sign for the letter since the beginning, except for the part "Using canon Battletech systems despite their unsuitability for PC games".

I reject "balance" like done in MW4, where every weapon had its stats changed. You should play more MW3 and see that it is possible to keep very loyal to the TT in a PC game.

For anyone interested in doing some alternative mechwarrior action as proposed in earlier #savemwo meetings, go to this link to find out how to install and play MWLL for free, with very simple easy to follow steps.

The leader of the Antares Scorpions has accepted me as a representative for our unit for #savemwo. I will be showing up on behalf of our unit for this next townhall meeting. Hopefully we can have a positive discussion about how we the community can improve this game.

sincerely,

I don't agree with everything you guys are asking for, I didn't like some of your ideas, and I certainly am not a fan of the group leading this movement, but I do support your general focus on getting IGp/PGI's attention and trying to get better communication. I can't sign your letter as I am opposed to the idea of representatives from this part of the community having too much say but I do hope you will get enough attention to force IGP/PGI to realize there are serious issues that need attention and that the community is not your enemy (well unless you choose to make them :D).
So good luck, I will try to listen in and at least join the chat, this time I might even use this name. :)

I find it hard to believe that Anders speaks for all 1500 members of Lowtax, or that Durkan and Kerbango speak for all 1000 members of Last Mech Standing.

Or that Last Mech Standing has 1000 members, when the forum has under 200 registered members.

I've never been opposed to the general goals of this movement. I just have had issues with how it was handled and who was running it. My issues are far less important than the idea behind it. I still think you need more outreach and advertising if you truly want it to be inclusive. Saying everyone is invited but not bothering to go find people outside units isn't the same thing as actually representing all types of players. I'd suggest a few mentions in those hot topic feedback threads if you want some traction.
