Reminds me a bit of the heat scale penalty system, where it still allows pinponit alpha, which was what people were complaining about, and nerfs a lot of builds no one worried about.

I don't know why they make decisions like this. There must be some higher purpose I can't see. #faithInPGI

It is similar, but that proved their balance department consists of incompetent people, this proves that they are no better than the corrupt politicians and lie right into your face. I think the latter is a bit worse.

I don't think it's reasonable to ask for a full refund.

I do think it's at least reasonable to ask for phoenix package money to be refunded given that none of those toys have been distributed yet.

I asked for, no demanded a refund. This is not the first point PGI/IGP has back pedaled on and this makes me think it is not the last. It wasn't what they were saying when I was giving them money and it's not the game I wanted to play.

Via Email?
I'm seriously considering demanding my money back. This game is nothing like it was promised to be.
Hell, i haven't used any of my Founders MC or premium time either, because i haven't figured this game to be worth that yet. And not it looks like it never will be.

I have no clue where are my friends and enemies. Am I too far forward? Am I alone? Is someone flanking me? Where is everyone? It pretty much guarantees that the newbie will be completely and totally lost with no way to get his bearings.

So, no change on that front :D?

Quote from the command chair post:

If you want a refund, then I'm sorry for you. You paid for an unfinished product that you were told was subject to change at any time. You were also told that all developer statements were subject to change, so you got exactly what you paid for.

Sort of. I assumed the various promises first not to include 3pv and later to not make me play in matches would be honoured.

By your logic they could change it to a tetris style game with square robots and it would be valid.

So now we are requested to just deal with lack of follow through on the commitment that we would be able to choose not to play with 3PVers, as we wait for a mystery solution which we're assured ''addresses a few more community wish list items''.

I want to believe PGI. They do some good things... Sarah's Jenner, the detailed tech notes from time to time, the recent take-it-on-the-chin apology from the map maker who said he'd made a mistake, etc.

But frankly, after yesterday's blatant decommitment - revealed in such an offhand way in the patch notes - on a subject they knew was an important concern of their customers, any new commitments hold very little credibility.

This customer's trust has been badly shaken.

Shaken? It's been fracked hard against everyone's will. People are going to have PTSD like afer the SWG NGE (which no one wanted) killed that game.

Do remember that community warfare is coming 90 days after open beta. At one point this was the PGI position used to calm people worried about the too-early transition to open beta. Turns out that it's taken ~3.5x longer and counting.

While product development milestones can be fluid, by now we should take feature/deadline statements from PGI with a sack of salt. I wouldn't be surprised if it was IGP that told PGI they are launching in September and this is why we are now hearing community warfare being introduced 'in phases' which is code for way behind schedule.

Bryan, I haven't seen more bullcrap than what you just said, even from my bull's arse.

What more proof does one need, to see that PGI's decision makers are completely out of touch with the community?

I doubt that you can get a refund for used up premium or your founder - you already got something delivered for it, be it closed beta access, founder mechs and stuff like that. And I can at least for myself - regardless of how I feel the game is going, I "used" those goods and had fun with them.

But Phoenix is an example where it's likely possible, since nothing was delivered yet. And so far I have heard of no one that wouldn't get that refunded.

Still, asking for it might not hurt, and might cause some alarm sirens to go off. Or not.

3rd person was introduced to help new players understand seperate movement of torso and legs? FAIL.

Instead PGI should've invested that time in a proper ingame tutorial to really introduce new players to the game mechanics.
Time after time I see new players without a clue and tell them to visit the training grounds on the main page. Obviously the training grounds links are not enough to get new players to read them.

if we were shareholders, we would be voting Bryan and Paul out right now. this made my week. I don't want to blanket PGI with criticism but the guys at the top need to go. The artist who decided mechs didn't need to be scaled properly needs to go also. Put Karl Berg in charge. Hire or even force into slavery some "consultants" from top teams that are respected like GaussDragon or TheMagician or HomelessBill or all of the above. PGI is obviously terrible at their own game so we need a panel of top players to make balance changes. Balance would be more palatable in a week. In a month, mechs would be sized correctly. In two months, convergence may be dealth with. In the meantime, the game would be fun.

Like the locust, my dream is DBA. dead before arrival.

Haha, this times 100. Making a poorly balanced game is one thing, but outrught lying to the players is completely another. I'm asking for a phoenix refund.

As the game hasn't been released yet and this is still a beta I think some mis-selling was involved in getting me to buy into it.

Lies led me to believe this was going to be a game I would want to play when it was released.

It's either mis-selling or mis-representation - pick one.

I don't.

I'd rather have the game that was sold to me.

See signature for details of a watered down version.

I understand that I paid A LOT of money into this game and I am not looking for a refund. I am actually hoping that a large number of people have a good deal of fun with it. I am deeply unhappy with the 3PV being unavoidable for me. It destroys immersion with the indestructible blinky floaty thing. I hate it with a deep passion beyond any simple advantage/disadvantage metric. I was relieved when PGI stated that there would be separate options for 3PV/1PV drops. It helped make my decision on my Overlord package. It will be a sad day for me (quickly approaching) when I am too unhappy with the game to play it any more or so upset that I have to encourage any of my friends who have not yet started playing to avoid the game like the plague. I am not a fan of "poisoning the well" but I feel that PGI is almost trolling a big portion of the player base.

#Brian Eckman

Sorry i didn't say it before, but I left PGI before this patch to start a successful politician career. Thanks to you MWO players, I'm now able to fund the creation of my own party. I have already the selling line: "Vote Eckman, Vote for a 3rd PV!"
