Jenner Hitboxes

Eventually though, this charity thing came around and I thought - that's a great reason, I'm gonna do that. Got the first wave and... it was a great mech - mostly.
I noticed though that the VAST majority of hits go to the center torso. People complain about the kintaro obviously didn't pilot the giant target on legs known as a Jenner. Seriously - what could possibly have driven such a baffling hitbox design?

Note the front AND back. I have WAY more respect for competent jenner pilots, but as it is this is pretty ridiculous and has turned me off from what should be a fantastic mech. I sold the others had the moment I basic'd them out with GXP. Now mind you I manage a 2+ KDR on my spider and commando... but here's my jenner stats:
JENNER JR7-D 23 15 8 1.88 13 15 0.87 4,616 14,025 02:22:54 JENNER JR7-F 19 10 9 1.11 6 13 0.46 2,602 10,310
01:44:51
JENNER JR7-K 32 16 16 1.00 18 19 0.95 5,135 13,419
02:49:42
In short, godawful for what should be a potent striker mech. In game after game, I found myself with minor damage on the body and the center torso cored out, like clockwork. Once in a while I got legged, which admittedly was a welcome change of pace.

Fix jenner hitboxes so they don't become CT damage magnets

They probably never will. Compared to the Raven, its bogus. Their side torsos pretty much reach all the way to the front! Theres excellent damage spread; its really quite unfair to jenner pilots.
Some would argue that since they are better armed than most lights they deserve this nerf. I disagree. I fully support expanding the Jenner side torso hit boxes for the sake of competition.

I pilot Jenners more than anything else, and yeah, the CT is gigantic, but otherwise the 'Mech is by far the best light. If it didn't have the propensity to be cored it would be severely OP.
I will say this though: there are parts of the Jenners rear CT which count as front CT, and that can be a bit annoying. Otherwise, I think it's pretty well-balanced.

The Raven's side torso advantage is nullified by having leg hitboxes that are larger than the physical model.
Ravens also don't get jets (the 4X is slow and gimped by ballistic slots so that barely counts) and have fewer lazors (Raven 2X has 4 but 2 are in the torso, Jenner gets 4-6 in the arms).

Sarah's mech might "influence" the numbers, but the Jenner-D is one of the most powerful lights to be fielded.
The whole point of a light mech for the purposes of combat is to be seen as little as possible but also cause as much mayhem when you do pop up. That is the key to mastering lights.

Jr7-F can kill assaults in 2-4 alphas in the back and you can usually make 2 before assault pilot reacts and turns.
It was the 1st mech I mastered, now I have 6 lights mastered, all mechs I own are lights currently , and in my opinion jenner is the easiest to play and deal damage with (except for spider K with 4mgs, but that one barely takes any skill to play)

Giant target on legs? Seriously? The Jenner is damn small compared to the Kintaro and has the advantage of higher speed, and jumpjets.
The giant CT hitbox is one of the only things balancing the Jenner with the other lights. There is a reason it's been the top light mech before ECM was implemented. It's still as competitive as ever.

I still have those matches where I run into a lump of enemies and get vaporized early game...but riding a 7F typically has me leading my PUG lance in DMG and being among the few mechs left on the field in closer matches.
I agree the hitboxes are wonky to look at, - but durability in the field seems great tbh.

Did you know the missile rack counts as front CT from all angles even behind? It's stupidly easy to put FCT damage on a Jenner D/K from behind.
The Devs have known about and mentioned this issue several months ago with no updates. PGI doesn't care.
