MWO is being consumed by a firestorm. The economy has been destroyed. All general discussion forums destroyed. Significant gold debris ring in low orbit.

Also as we can see from coverage from outside (non MWO) sources, people not entrenched in MW don't really seem to care about simulators any more.

The post from Russ stated that a possible failure may have been due to people on vacations. Honestly this upset me a little. It should NOT matter who is on a vacation or not, this game is still in startup mode. If I'm working in a startup environment and I'm on vacation, and my clients need answers to questions, you'd bet your butt that I'd be making phone calls and sending emails and making posts, whatever I needed to do.
BUT, what's done is done. Russ acknowledged they made a mistake in comms. Let's try and relax and breathe and let some time pass by before making a more thorough judgement call on whether community warfare is progressing as they said it would or whether 3pv is detrimental to the competitive scene or not.

Oh? Star Citizen is promising all kinds of simulation things, a flight simulator in space, and look how much money is being thrown at it.
Other examples;
X3: Rebirth
EVE Valkyre
IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad
ARMA III
DCS Series
ETC.
Simulation games are alive and well and people throw money at them.

There's a difference between being concerned about the game and searching for a reason to hate it.

We just don't want to be taken for suckers and there is nothing shameful about it.

And you think acting like children and stomping your feet or holding your breath will change PGIs shortcomings? Or their perception of you as "suckers"? I'm not saying i dont agree with some or even most of the grevances against PGI and their very poorly implemented and thought out ideas, but the way some of the members are acting on these forums is just shameful.
Two wrongs do not make a right.

p.s. if youre looking for a new lead designer (which you should be), im looking for a job. i have no qualifications other then a college degree, but i have played semi-professionally in a few other games, so i feel like i could do an excellent job getting this game back to something less convoluted and more interesting and true to mechwarrior. shoot me a PM if you guys are interested.
i mean lets be honest, i couldnt do worse of a job, and ill do it cheaper then the guy youre paying now.

I think now looking back, we did not fight the enemy, we fought ourselves and the enemy was in us....

I took the money I was going to spend on Phoenix and gave it to them. The communication is there, and the Dev seems very competent. The videos explaining his thought process and testing point to a Dev that clearly understands project management and where to get the biggest bang for his buck/time. This is something PGI lacks sorely.... they devote so much wasted time and effort on things that either P.O. the community or have very little impact on improving the game.
