Am i correct in presuming this lovely mech will not be availible untill the clans invade even though its not a clan mech it was built with some captured clan tech?

This has been answered a bajillion times, but:

No, the Bushwhacker is not available for several years after the date this game is initially set in.

Check out sarna.net for more information on just about anything you have BT questions on or if you just want to learn more about the universe.

Sorry, I wasn't being a ******. These threads just come up all the time

It is a sweet mech though, I think it'd lend itself perfectly to Alex Iglesias' art style on a reboot.

The books are really the only fiction in the universe since the TRO get the info from them.

You may be able to modify a Centurion to match the specs of the Bushwacker. I gonna try it. I'm also hoping to turn a stalker into a charger just $#!#s and giggles, heheheh

Should almost certainly be able to get very close to the Whackers loadout with a Centurion, yep.

These TRO 3058 preview pages have the official Bushwacker info for people who don't have access to the books:

To clarify, the Bushwacker was not a production mech until after the clan invasion and the capture of a Vulture to analyze it's reactor shielding. BUT the Bushwacker was in prototype stages before 3050. The prototype suffered from heat issues due to its unique design and inadequate shielding allowing the cockpit to get rather uncomfortable.

This means that we could see the Bushwacker as a prototype mech if the developers want to offer it or may be as a reward for special events. Please note this comes from the Battletech core rules and the 3055 Schematics book.

Yeah, this would be one of my top picks too so it's a shame it won't be around for a good long while.

Sorry that not's going to be possible.

The heaviest mech you can make to get a 5/8 machine is 80 tonnes. You could probably do it with an awesome (it should have enough energy hard points) which is just as funny in it's own way.
