This is the kind of reply format I am looking for. Simple and easy to read; it will allow us to look through hundreds of post grasping at the essence of the problem.

Spoiler

This game is going downhill. Too many 180º changes, lies, convoluted "fixes" (thank you Paul...), and big delays.

PGI, get your **** together and put the game back on track.

And in the meantime give us PRIVATE MATCHES already!!!!

I'm no happy but i'm pretty fine for now. Still getting some fun.

When CW and UI2.0 will be implanted, the game will change drasticly. I'm looking foward for it. I know PGI is doing all they can but their limited ressources doesn't help. Just be patient... I'm sure it will be cool.

Of course there is some stuff that aren't good (3PV for example, but i agreed some reasons to add it) but the game still need some tunings and time.

The game is far from perfect but i'm optimist. Not like the most of the people here... *sigh*

i am a bit upset coz:

"someone" wrote that the new interface was under development and we are close to see it online, but now start up is near and i see nothing really new

i wait for more "consequences" after the battle, like a political map with faction borders that change after a day of war, otherwise what means have Steiner or Kurita as faction?

we are very very near to launch the game but patch after patch i didn't see long step or too much efforts by devs to be ready.... u don't understimate that we are (not-so) close to the launch of many other MMOs and if u dont offer "more meat" i suppose that we lose a lot of players, and i dont want that another good chance to play a potentially good game in the world of Battletech goes bad.

Sorry in advance for my English grammar, but i am not English, USA or Australian and realtives....

I'm upset.
To be fair only a bit upset because the game is still mostly fun for me but....

Hitbox design limit the mechs I like to play a lot, some seem to have only a center torso.

Hit detection is wonky, even against heavy and assault mechs at times

C-Bill nerf

What happened to information and Role Warfare? That was one of the main reasons for me to invest in a founders deal

With things like CW and the Clans, it's clear that PGI has set their expectations a lot higher than their capabilities (or, to be a tinfoil hat, perhaps even lied since the beginning to entice founders)

Only two game modes and no info on when and how there will be more

The dev's stubbornness to never back down from their self-invented ideas such as ghost heat, crit-seeking MGs, and hard-counter ECM as opposed to trying out some popular community ideas; basically it feels like their way or the high way

MC items are too expensive

Since the last patch I dropped to 20 Frames and that's the high end. I was used to have around 40.

To keep it short, simple, and civil OP...I'm just over it; we made progress up until ballistic state rewind...but since then, it's been downhill in all aspects of the game, with no sign of getting better.

Not happy.

Why?
Convergence.
Ghost heat.
Repettitive game play.
Convergence.
Ghost Heat.
PGI not listening to community.
Convergence.
Ghost Heat.
Uneven hitboxes on mechs (looking at you, awesome, spider, cent, catapult's head)
Convergence.
Ghost Heat

...did I mention Convergence and Ghost Heat??

You want my opinion about this game? You get it! Here it is:

I don't like it! Dislike!

But why? Here are the reasons:

  • LIES — They're lying to us!
  • No Community Warfare (CW)
  • No add game modes since assault & conquest
  • Lack of communication from devs
  • Match maker
  • Silly 3PV
  • Mech scaling
  • Ghost heat
  • Convergence
  • Coolant flush debacle
  • Upcoming gauss charge

+ Additionally, the game is very lack of (and it still doesn't have in the game):

  • So far, there is no interactive tutorial for beginners!
  • No Clans
  • No full Story Campaign
  • No Story Missions
  • No other troops and equipment that are available in the BattleTech
  • No eject
  • No full-fledged anti-cheat system
  • No support for bots
  • No Player versus Environment (PvE)
  • No interactive hangar
  • No to delve into the stuffing and dig in the Mechs
  • No mode of first-person shooter for a player
  • No Dedicated Server & DS client (I want to spit on F2P, so I agreed to buy a separate game for the dedicated server)
  • No Software Development Kit (SDK)
  • No support for user-generated content
  • No support of modifications
  • No support Steam & Workshop
  • No support VR-HMD (e.g. Oculus Rift)
  • No full support DX11+ & modern extended graphics
  • No support PhysX, CUDA & GPGPU
  • No support Mac OS & Linux
  • ...

No so much more, which is really worth adding to the long-term. And it's not even expected. Since the project is stalled and does not develop. Developers do not have enough experience and talent to develop the project.

And the saddest thing - they're lying to us! Indeed, in many ways it is because of this active players have become so dissatisfied.

I'm not even unhappy anymore - althoug i spend those bucks for phoenix - currently I'm not interested if that game will ever have a future.
Only thing what makes me sad is: that when i startet to play MWO - you looked into a bright future - yes there were lots of bugs - but in terms of game play it looks promising. However i don't know what happened but instead improvement we saw more and more degrading of a great game.

Let's see what is in the future - but I don't mind if there is none.

I am not just upset, I am fire-spitting mad and refuse to play the game anymore

The reason I refuse to play anymore:
-Forced 3PV queues/no 1PV only queue

Other things that make me upset:
-PGI’s lies about 1PV only queues
-The existence of 3PV itself
-PGI ignoring the community on a number of issues (3PV, Ghost heat, SRM damage for a long time, adding a tutorial, etc)
-Gauss rifle charge up time
-Ghost heat
-The use of things like GR charge and ghost heat to balance the game before tweaking weapon stats
-PGI’s unwillingness or inability to make simple obvious tweaks to weapon stats to balance the game (see PLs, heat on heavy ACs and AC2, SRMs and AC5 for a long time)
-PGI’s methods of community management (splitting up the forums, mass post deletion)
-PGI’s attitude problem (see: anything that comes out of Bullock’s twitter feed)

You won't get numbers with this thread telling you anything about the state of the community, because you will only reach people who:

a. bother to read the forums at all
b. bother to read another "Upset with MWO" thread
c. are most likely upset with MWO in the first place which might be the reason for a. and b.

Exactly.

Ha ha. See, it's funny because PGI have said that because only a small percentage of the playerbase visits the forum they discard all input given to them through the forum. But there are over a million MWO accounts now, so talking conservatively, they would have to ask 250k people to get any relevant input by their metrics, and that'll never happen. So I will translate PGI-speak for you:

We do not care about player input.

I'm voted upset.

It's become quite clear that PGI never had an understanding of MechWarrior or a vision for it as a game, it is simply a vehicle to get themselves a paycheck. MechWarrior has a proud history behind it that this team knows nothing of, they figured they could produce anything they liked and hang the MechWarrior name on it to keep the suckers happy. When it dies they'll just move on to the next thing. I have no confidence they even understand why we are so disappointed. They think it's a marketing issue or something.

As a gamer, I like it just fine. It looks nicer than any previous incarnation, and has the potential to be a lot better. As a Battletech {Noble MechWarrior}, there are a couple of things I would like to see changed to make it more in line with the source material: convergence, ECM, limited customization on standard 'Mechs to give OmniMechs more of a unique feel would all be things I would like seen done differently.

I didn't really like the idea of ghost heat and find it counter intuitive and think there will be a lot of confusion with it when the game goes live, but it did curb some of them problems the game had with massive pinpoint alpha strikes. I think the gauss charge up is a neat option to give a weapon that makes no heat and has no ghost heat penalty more of a skill curve to use effectively, especially multiple Gauss which will be much more common with Clan tech.

Not too pleased with PGI's ideas to change key design pillars that they toted as the foundation of their game time and again. Would like to have seen actual skill progression like other MMO's rather than the generic and unispired pilot skills and modules trees forcing us to grind out bad variants of 'Mechs. The third person fiasco could have easily been avoided if PGI just did what they maintained they were going to do. Honesty goes a long way for player confidence.

weird balance decisions (Gauss / PPC - discussion)
3 PV
hit detection (Spider)
lies
