I mean if they do the 2N Griffin Also known as the Royal Griffin. Then if you don't buy the package your missing one darn good mech.

All 3 have the same engines, same speeds, same module slots, same armor (same max armor?), all are jump jet capable, and all are 55 tons. So what exactly does the Wolverine and Griffen bring to the table that's new? Hardpoints? The Griffen's hardpoints are a joke, 3 missiles in the right torso and 3 lasers in the right arm...talk about putting all your eggs in one basket. There's nothing that the Griffen has that the Kintaro or Trebuchet can't already do.
On paper, the Wolverine is almost the exact same as the Shadow Hawk except the distribution of hard points. The only significant difference being that the ballistics are in the left arm of the Wolverine instead of being housed in the side torso as in the Shadow Hawk. Otherwise these 2 mechs are functionally identical expect for the jump jets where the Wolverine has a max of 7 and the Shadow Hawk has a max of 3. Is that enough to convince you to shell out $30?
I won't buy one for that same reason. BUT hey are highly "nostalgic" and "classic" for a large number of players.

I bet this was more of an IGP pushing PGI to do this than anything else. "We have a goal to keep and our monthly revinue took a huge hit due to all these refunds. Lets offer more stuff! Bleed em dry!"
<Insert new Hitl*r video here>
Best of luck to those players that buy this package you are keeping this game free for me and everyone else that refuses to spend until PGI gets their act together.
This is bulls... excrement.
When they announced project phoenix, everyone knew that there were 2 more possible mechs fromm the reseens, wolverine and griffin. And there was a "leak" in one of the dev vids where alex was working on the wolverine, long before any of our beloved drama queens could freak out about a little flying camera.
So don't tell us it was totaly unforseeable that these two mechs come on sale in any form.
And this is a sale like any other, not greed. when the phoenix mechs showed up, everyone was super excited and no one said something like greed. and now everyone is Bear Grills favorite drink and everything is so *peep*

I want these, I love mediums, I have many mastered mechs from 45-60 tons (the dragon is a medium and we all know it).
Not buying them until/unless I get a separate 1pv queue. I'm also looking for something concrete on community warfare.

Thanks at the very least. I fear PGI will be rewarded by those with rosy tinted glasses. Rather than held to their actual words and content provided.
It's already happened once and I fear it may be happening again. Hence my urge for caution at the very least and waiting to pre order.

Oh look! PGI's Generic Weapon Slot System is coming back to bite them. Called this one back in closed beta....

Personally I want to buy, but last patch killed my fps from 50s to 5-15 making the game unplayable. Here's hoping they fix it.

HOWEVER
I have bought an overlord package and love the core game, but am hesitating on this purchase.
After ghost heat, the Cbill decrease, the impending gauss changes, and yesterday's god awful creative update I am quite concerned with MWOs future.

But it's the looks, not just what they carry.
While I hate that there are so many unresolved issues (lies about 3pv etc) I do want these mechs.
Dammit, it will just have to wait for a few more days till I get home from my holidays.

Don't be a chicken little
Marketing wise... brilliant:
Phase 1: Phoenix package(taste of classics) > Phase 2: Reinforcements (getting warmer) > Phase 3: Marauder and Rifleman
Bam! 80 + 30 + 30 = $$$
Lets see how the refunds hold out on that deal
Only downside - waiting until 2014 to get all the mechs

Smoke and mirrors.
