Scav3ng3r, for the love of God, if you love the Griffin so much, SPELL IT CORRECTLY. I mean, it's right there, on the Phoenix page. Every time I saw 'Griffon' I twitched ;)

Everyone should have seen this coming, The Griffin and Wolverine are both respectively, inspired from the same mecha series, Dougram, which also came for the Battlemaster, the Shadowhawk and the Thunderbolt. In fact, in that show, the Griffin is like some sort of a grunt mech for the Feds, while the Battlemaster is the officer variant. Dougram itself is the Shadowhawk, the hero mech in the series.

Harmony Gold doesn't have any paws on the Dougram show, and likewise for Crusher Joe where the Locust was inspired from. These "unseen" were voluntarily pulled by FASA, to avoid any potential lawsuit, unlike the Harmony Gold stuff where it did happen. The owners of the Dougram show (Nippon Sunrise, aka Sunrise Productions, which makes a lot of mecha series including Gundam) appeared to have given the green light for PGI, so long the new designs are not copies from the ones in the show.

The fact that the Griffin and Wolverine were 55 ton mechs, along with the Shadowhawk, isn't PGI's fault, but because of the Battletech lore. So in choosing a Light, Medium, Heavy and Assault package, two have to give, and the slot went to the Shadowhawk. However, once added, probably took PGI a little while to realize the obvious, the family won't be complete without the Griffin and the Wolverine, even though they are redundant in terms of specs.

But its a family and it must be complete.

I'm personally putting my money in, on top of the Overlord package.

There are two other Dougram mechs that made into BT, but we won't be seeing them because they are quad legs.

Already have the Overlord and will be adding this to it. That griffin is a handsome mech.

More mediums? The current set is gimp enough in 12v12....let's throw a few more in. I'm glad I asked for my Phoenix Project refund. Blatant cash grab.

It's an F2P game... where else are they supposed to get money, exactly? Furthermore, with weight limits coming in for drops, Medium and lighter Heavy 'mechs will be about the 'average' tonnage in a drop. These will be useful machines.

due to pgi's recent reaction to their community and the lies, poor communication, and deception I cannot buy this pack at this time. I still have my overlord pack coming, but dropping another 30 dollars on a game and company I wish the best but have little faith in, would be poor decision making on my part. not only that but why would i want a light, 3 55 ton mediums, a heavy, and an assualt instead of a more balanced mix? seems rather useless to add 2 more 55 tonners (making 4 chassis total in that weight compared to the previous max of 2). Honestly if i had to pick 1 55ton it would be the wolverine, but im gonna rock the shadow hawk and wait for standard wolverines to come if im still playing by then. I would pay 15 to add wolverine hero alone, even without standard variants, but the griffin has 6 hardpoints between the right arm and right shoulder, which to me means it will be even easier to neuter than the centurion so I dont want that mech at all ( woot shadowhawk and wolverine!). If it were the wolverine and another class I would choose a wait and see approach to ***** the delivery of promised features and buy if PGI has been delivering on its promises closer to saber release, but as it is at 30 dollars im just not interested. not trying to rant, just posting that im not buying even though under the right circumstances I would at least consider it. This package just isnt for me, and if it was i would patiently wait. Cool looking mechs tho!

What if the Ballturret on the Wolverine moved around and used the Arm's aim recticule? That would be awesome and super unique!

*Spelling error*

I'd like that in a few mechs. Marauder, Locust, a number of others.
But I'd also like my Cataphract with its rear mounted lasers, my Quickdraw with its twin forward and twin rear-ward facing lasers. My Atlas K with the twin MPL on the back.

Oh, don't forget the flip-able arms on the Blackjack. Nothing like shooting that guy behind you by flipping your arms.

I WANT to spend more money on these...I just don't have it after the money spent on the Legendary and Overlord packages. Then the odd add on here and there so I could get something I wanted...it all adds up. Now hopefully when I have saved a few bucks here and there I will be able to afford them before they go away. I'm also hoping to see some of the other mechs I love come out too....but we will see.

Mediums are 'supposed' to be the workforce of the Inner Sphere, guys. Hopefully the increased number of Mediums in the game means that they have some plan to make Mediums the most cost/tonnage effective choice for CW such that they're the main class of mech we see.

I personally would be fine seeing more Meds. on the battlefield.

The hardpoints aren't that impressive to me and i'm already getting the shadow hawk... If you wanted me to fork over $30 you should have made a Mauler. Its why i'm sitting on 74 million cbills right now. Just waiting to blow it all on some Maulers...

Sorry PGI no dice, You keep adding mechs in a game that needs more game, not players.

it's like Adding more bones to a skeleton... you need flesh.

It is so fashionable to be negative on the internet, isn't it?

Anyways, these mechs look great! As I tend to favor medium mechs to begin with, I'm really liking these additions. I appreciate the Phoenix era medium mech's focus on being swift harassing units. That's a great role for a medium chassis, and I look forward to supporting a lance of Thunderbolts and Battlemasters in my Phoenix medium chassis.

I'm not sure about buying this pack. I said that if this game came out with the Shadow Hawk and Battlemaster I would get it. And I did, it took a while, but I did.

I remember the Wolverine and Griffin from the Battletech novels. But I never really gravitated towards them.

As for all the drama I think if you watch the official video of Within Temptation's What Have You Done it would sum up your feelings nicely.

I'm not angry with PGI nor IGP. Heck, I can't even play the game, yet. But I'm not much for these two mediums.

I would infer that once match tonnage limits set in, if ever, the 'average' divided by 12 weight will be in the 55-65 ton range. If thats the case, the more med's and low end heavies the better.

And woo, Griffin and Wolverine, another $30 taken by ComStar.
