I think you should remove 'do not want it at all' since its already widely known on the forums that the vocal minority aka forum majority don't want it but its here, and here to stay. At least this would push more votes into the split ques, which is all we really want.

TBH it doesn't matter, this poll will be deleted by tomorrow.

Remember guys, it's because they cared so much that they are doing this.

I know some people are adamant about it being totally removed But I still won't remove that option. If that's how they feel it should be shown. I think we need to compromise a bit and go for separate queues but that's my opinion.

Unfortunately Devs certainly want to keep the damn 3PV ingame, and the idea they had to throw us a bone by permanently disable it in organized 12 vs 12 is the excuse to let in PUG games 3PV always on.

I'm against it, 3PV shall have never been introduced in game.

So my solution (that you can find also in my sig) is (since unfortunately 3PV looks to be staying with us for the rest of MWO's life):

-Make that the drone is a module. Make it free for everyone, but it requires a module in your mech
-make that the drone can be shot down and until the end of that match you won't be able to use it again
-make that if the player purposedly shakes the drone when spotting or standing still in order not to get it shot down, a blur or some kind of visual impair kicks in.

Since the above will be hardly done by the devs (they have to justify the presence of the UAV drone consumable) then the only solution that I can think about leaving 3PV always on until we won't get a proper queue separation is...

..to limit 3PV drone view range to 750m. Like heat or night visions are limited now. I don't want 3PV at all, let's get clear, but since it looks like we'll have to deal with it in MWO then I can't accept it without thinking of nerfing it like the other two view modes we have now. Do this, and I may accept 3PV to a degree.

Yeah, but if wishes were horses, we'd all be eating steak.

Who knows, maybe we'll even get a tutorial, too, at some point, maybe even to release, that would be something.
But even then ther emight just be a bunch of players that really prefer 3PV and won't touch MW:O otherwise. If that's true, they should have the option, as long as I am not forced to play in or against 3PV (and can still keep playing M:WO. I could of course always stop... In fact, I practically did.)

Seems fair to me , and please stop talking about food, I'm stuck at work

If 3pv brings in a ton of new players that's great for mwo, but I don't want any part of playing against anyone using 3pv

Sorry but it is not sufficient, personally I don't want to deal with 3PV at all. I never entered a 3PV server during MW4 lifespan and I am not going to start now.

The spent money is not a big deal but I'd rather look at other ways to spend free time.

I know mate, but given the arrogance and the behavior of the devs first in the false apology and then in the "lalalalalalala I don't hear anything" September developer update where us Founders (and not only us) have been defined a vocal minority, it looks like we'll have to deal with 3PV or leave the game.

My suggestions are a trade off to this.. always with 3PV off in organized and CW matches of course and hopefully getting a separated queue also in pug matches.

As much as I'd like to vote to remove it, I realise that isn't going to happen. The "Separate queue for each" is the only reasonable option currently. Also if there are people who enjoy third person I wouldn't wish to take it away from them.

Here is hoping enough people are left to come and vote here, and that it isn't just ignored, again.

I voted seperate queue for each. After all that's what was announced to appease the people that outspoke against 3rd person view. If this isn't possible I want to know the exact reason for it. Any explanation that contains the words "we feel" is unnacceptable. You don'T make decision based on gut feelings. Makes you look unprofessional and unreliable.

Let me elaborate further a bit: Seperating the queues would be the best for all player groups and PGI: Hardcore Competitive Players get their 1st person view only mode and newbies get something to work towards (become good enough to play first person only to be accepted into the hardcore ranks). Newbies and people that simply love 3rd person view could get a proper view mode that actually is fit for being used permanently and helps newbies to pick up controls better by seeing torso AND legs of their warmachine. Oh and last but not least the forum would calm down.

I dont understand why PGI fails to see that seperating the queues for all modes is a win-win-win situation. It would allow them to make a GOOD 3rd person view without alienating the strict 1st person view only crowd and thusly would truely be able to catch the attention of a new crowd.

Thanks, finally a fair poll!

I would actually want to vote "Do not want in game at all" but let the 3pv/new players have their fun, and I can have mine in 1pv only mode.

You missed one option! Russ suggested a possible option "for instance Community Warfare provided the segregation" from this post: http://mwomercs.com/...85#entry2678285

It's not a bad idea I thought, because you could have 1PV only for matches that involve CW as it will be a competitive environment between factions. Then have 3VP optional for non CW matches such as prearranged matches or random PUG drops or something like that.

It's at least a poll where you know what you're voting for, so I have no problems casting my vote here, not like in the official poll.

But: We all know how PGI reacts to such polls. Will be locked/deleted as soon as one of them comes online today.

Given the level of personal integrity and ethics they have shown so far I would believe what you have predicted.

That said, if they continue to take away the ability of people to have their grievances heard (and actually acted on) they will just stir up the hotheads. Some are already talking about legal action (good luck) and while they probably don't have much chance they could be a pretty big nuisance/resource drain on PGI/IGP.

Third person view might not give the user an overall advantage, except that one can switch views at will.

I might not mind having 1PV and 3PV players together IF one had to pick a view and stick with it for the entire match.

definitly voted yes for separate queues for both, personaly i dont care about 3pv till i am not forced to strictly play mixed and i cannot choose and lol forcing people to group on ts3 to have 1pv ingame experience only is just lazy and lame. definitly yes for hardcore mode

Why cant people understand that community segregation is bad. Isnt it enough that 12man will be 1PV only? And maybe even CW. Wont it be enough to have the community split in 3 modes, 2 of which being 1PV only?

That is just an argument to remove 3pv from the game entirely and replace 3pv with a proper tutorial.

Community segregation is not inherently bad.

In League of Legends for example you start out playing a tutorial, then you play against easy bots, then you play against normal bots, then you play against the deadliest prey of them all... your fellow man.

The community is segregated that way because it makes it easier for new players and doesn't make them get savaged repeatedly by well honed 5 mans.

Community segregation is not inherently bad, nor would doing something similar with separate 3pv 1pv be bad for the mwo community.

Let me just point out that this segregation is wholly the fault of pgi. There were promises that the game would be entirely 1st person, then they weakened it to separate queues, and now they're trying to force it on everyone but 12v12. No, 12man isn't enough.
