Its like you're playing a different game then the rest of us. Mechs don't disappear, and the Dev's have said a million freaking times that there is not going to be reactor explosions.

Look at the post times. At that point, the 'mechs did disappear after destructing and the reactor business wasn't officially declined.

Why not both?

example
Yes for an Explosive type LRM
No for an Armor piercing LRM
And a ratio of both if we wanted more types

You cannot balance splash damage weapons when you have good pilots that can do double or even triple damage by intentionally hitting hitbox interfaces.

Do not use splash damage unless you are trying to make weapons overpowered for good players and/or underpowered for bad players.

Bad game design.

PS: There were no canon equivalents of AP vs. HEAT LRMs. Instead, spend your time building canon stuff... like Thunder LRMs.

That is if mechs explode, if you make it go crit, yes, splash away.

If you take out the pilot, then it should just fall over,

I thought mechs had a built in safety majiger that stopped their reator from exploding.

When a mech has its reactor blow, it should not damage those around it. Instead, it should cause a heat spike in adjacent mechs. When the fusion reactor blows it's basically spraying super-heated gasses (atmosphere being sucked into a breached reactor and then super-heated when it contacts the plasma inside the fusion bottle). This should look very pretty and spike the heat of anyone too close, but should do basically no damage (maybe a few points as if they were hit briefly by a flamer, but nothing meaningful).

Yes. Because I want giant robots and explosions and the funny thing about explosions is that when things like say....a giant robot fires a rocket that explodes, everything caught in the explosive radius of the explosion needs to be exploded. This post brought to you by Micheal Bay.

level 3 TT rules give a chance of about 33% if and only if the entire center torso internal is destroyed in a single attack.
