Because there's no options left for the Firebrand, it's just bad now, right?

The sky is falling! The sky is falling!

Sure, I could put two machine guns and two small lasers on it. I guess there's always options. But when I paid real money for a PPC/AC Mech, then I don't expect to get kicked in the nuts a week after I make my purchase.

I simply won't be spending money on Hero Mechs until they settle down all these back and forth pendulum swings to weapon systems. When they calm down and stop knee-jerk reacting to every forum whiner, and all the weapons are in a stable state, then I'll consider which hero mechs I'll be willing to pay money for.

The market is simply too damn volatile to do otherwise.

The Gauss changes... makes my crazy decision to master a different Highlander so much more sweet...

The PPC changes though... hmmm... I think that's going to disappoint some of you on both sides of that aisle.

Thanks for the patch, hoping for great things in Sept. Anyone at PGI take note of the poll where players overwhelmingly responded that they are still playing MWO because its Mechwarrior/ Battletech and not because its MWO?

Where would this poll be?
Knowing the MWO community,
1. I'm sure it's biased
2. I'm sure it's vaguely worded
3. I'm sure "Overwhelming" means like 200 votes

Why is the Protector wearing an orange safety jacket...?! Is it escorting Ravens across the lava bridges on Terra Therma?

Because he is Gordon Freeman, here to save us all or ditch us for Clanners.

UNPLAYABLE ????

Are you trying to make people leave this game? What are u doing? Who will want use a Gauss Rifle worse than ever? More heat, charging time? Should be increased gauss damage at least to 25 to balance this! Max Alpha is not enough?
PPC BOOOST HEAT!!! Do you think this game will be only played with lights or with missles?
I spent a lot of time AND MONEY and i love this game but ..........
In that way you will make this game unplayable! And I will not play a unplayable game much time again and i think i will not the one.
Take care of this post please.
Best Regards

Paolo Pisano (WOLFSTAR)

"Unplayable"

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

You could remove the Gauss Rifle and PPC entirely and the game would still be completely playable.

There are other weapons, you know. Maybe, just maybe, give them a try. Accept that the previously magical Gauss+2PPC build is well and truly curbstomped into sniping only and that there are other options.

Orion:
Don't care much for the Orion

PPC Nerf:
YAY!! And even with these nerfs my Black Jake is still going to be useful as it uses regular PPCs.

PPC+Gauss nerf:
YAY!!

Gauss Charge thingy:
Ummm... Not sure

More bug fixes:
YAY!!

Tutorial:
ABOUT DAMN TIME!!

3PV change:
Can you guys at PGI just remove 3PV now that we have a movement tutorial or at least make it work like the 3PV in WoT? At least this way the views would be balanced and you can actually play in 3PV. Think of your customers PGI... Oh, wait, that's right, you don't care.

All of this is minor compared to the one thing that needed to be in this patch.

No seperate queues for 1PV/3PV.

Since it took less than a week for the Devs to gather all the data they needed to announce 3PV a complete success, there has obviously been enough time to gather the data they needed if the failure to honor the seperations were done as a data-gathering move. That they have not done so only proves this is in no way an information-gathering move.

Until a patch enables seperate queues, it by definition is a statement of failure. Thus, this patch offers nothing of worth.

They're a liability. If you choose to make them a liability in my opinion. As with the heat of any weapon system in the game. I don't boat past a certain a mount of medium lasers because the overheat would be ridiculous. I think it remains to be seen in game just how bad it is.

Yeah, I may as well reserve judgment until I see it in game, but I'm not expecting very positive results. Personally, I get the feeling that someone at PGI really hates snipers. Ironic considering while they finally fixed the advanced zoom, it might as well be useless because I project that sniping will be dead for the most part. PPCs and ER PPCs as they were never bothered me from either side of the barrel. I think those that complained too much about them didn't know how to use maneuverability and cover.

It just drives home the point that they lied about why 3rd pv was put in since they have now added a tutorial.

If you're going to make it harder for snipers, I think you should make it harder for brawlers as well. Actually... Just take away everyone's cross hairs. That sounds like the game everyone wants. Also nerf terrain, make everything flat. That way everyone can just run in, get as close as possible, and blow each other up. Actually we don't need jump jets either. All we need are small, medium, and large laser's and LBX/AC20. THAT GAME SOUNDS SO FUN OMG!!!!!

Only a sith speaks in absolutes? Or something.

Either way, those are some seriously black/white tinted glasses you see the world through.

Thank you for putting the TT heat values for PPCs. This was really good and needed, especially for the ERPPC. Unlimited ammo all range weapon is an unlimited ammo all range weapon. There has to be a price. Good job.

Two thoughts on the patch. I've been playing MechWarrior since the activision MechWarrior on a 16mhz machine and I always loved fast beam ppc over ball lightning slower than a turtle ppc from MechWarrior 2; the ppc speed was finally "right" for me,I'm sad about the slowdown. The gauss rifle delay in firing makes it unusable to me-when I pull a trigger I want "bang" not please wait charging up.............now you can shoot. Skill in shooter games comes down to timing a trigger pull and the gauss nerf takes that away.If any of you have read Assumption of Risk by Michael Stackpole you remember Kai Allard Liao beating Wu Deng Tang with a close range gauss shot to the left knee and finishing him with another that broke the mech's left thigh bone. Anyone who says gauss should be only for sniping needs to read more...

Well, that was a really silly idea.

Did you honestly thing balance changes wouldn't change what weapons are good? Are you new to online multiplayer games? Did you somehow fail to read the disclaimer in every multiplayer games' TOS? The game changes all the time. What's good and what's bad will always change. Always had, in every continually developed game. Always will.

Adapt, overcome. PPC's still work; a pair of AC/2's and PPC's will still be a viable build, but in a lot more trouble up close. *shrugs*

This is the danger - and it's true in every online game - in taking and relying on the "best" weapons. They will get nerfed, sooner or later.

The most awesome thing about free to play is that I get to decide when and how to spend my money, whether you think my reasons are silly or not!

It's perfect harmony. If I like the direction of the game... I put money into the system. If I don't like the direction of the game, then I stop putting money into the system. Either way, I can still log in and play. No pressure at all. I wasn't asking for opinions, I was simply stating that at this point in the games development, I'm turning the tap off from my wallet.

Doesn't mean I won't change a few loadouts here and there because of the sledgehammer nerfs and certainly doesn't mean I can't adapt and overcome, but it does mean that I won't be paying for something I don't agree with. Perfect harmony.
