Ppcs Put Back In Their Place.

I do think the min range change on standard PPCs will make them useless, however. If you are forced to have short range back-up weapons for close-in defense, there's no real reason to avoid the ERPPC. Either way, if you carry them, you'll be using them almost exclusively for long-range shots, where the heat is less important, and the difference in that long range is sizable. Basically, standard PPCs will give up far too much for very little advantage. Not that I'm much opposed, but I think it's worth noting.

So ill just aim where youll be .75s in the future?
I played MW3 silly where you had to lagshoot 5 seconds ahead of your target. So a .75s delay is nothing. Especially with Gauss moving 2000m/s now so the travel time is nearly halved.
Pinpoint alpha is still as strong as ever

If 2 PPC's and a Gauss Rifle can still knock off a body part on a light in two salvos, they're still good. With HSR fixed, they'll be even better. 1 extra heat on what we just had is not going to make a difference, and while n00bs won't use them now, skilled players won't be crying too hard, they'll just load up their 30 heat, 35 damage alpha, charge the Gauss first and still let em all loose at the exact same moment.
Honestly, it woulda been significantly harder if PPC's had been the one with the charge up time...missing the 15 damage on the Gauss is not nearly as debilitating as missing the 20 on the PPC's because of the wind up.

The good thing is that they'll have to switch to 2PPCs instead of 2 ERPPCs to stay heat manageable, and then all you have to do is close within 90m and they essentially become totally defenseless.

But they won't. It's like a total of 4 more heat for 2 ERPPC's, and my 2ERPPC+Gauss Cataphract was running 1.6 heat efficiency before the patch...the heat change MIGHT get it to 1.5. MAYBE. Nobody ran standard PPC's before the patch, and all this patch did was make it even more obvious that ERPPC's are the way to go. Unless PPC's get nerfed into oblivion or small/medium laser get buffed, the long range meta will continue.
Also, this patch did absolutely nothing to curb the other, REALLY scary contender that was starting to pop up before this patch...the 2LL+AC/20 Cataphract 3D that moves **65** KPH and has max JJ's. I'm calling that as the new meta if it does shift.
**Corrected. Still fast as all hell, but not unrealistically so.

Here's a fun fact for everyone: lightning does not move at the speed of light. It's actually significantly slower! Of course, the "light" that you see travels at the speed of light, but the bolt itself (which is made up of electrons, and not photons) is much slower. Still faster than the speed of sound, but much slower than light.
If you want proof aside from just googling it, go watch a video of lightning caught on film, and watch how they slow the film down to show the lightning bolt form. Then ask yourself: Do you really think their crappy TV cameras shoot fast enough to even come close to remotely slowing down light for you to see it travel?
True, but electricity should still move faster than a Gauss as far as I know.
EDIT: Looked at wrong numbers
Speed of Sound: 340 m/s (761 mi/h) https://www.google.c...ed%20of%20sound
Speed of Lighting (Average): 100,137 m/s (224,000 mi/h) http://www.komonews....aq/4347976.html
EDIT:
Looks like Lighting beats sound, but how fast does a Gauss slug move? Moves faster than sound, but by how much? So far, PPC seems like it should move faster.

Impossible. Also not pinpoint.

Speed of Lighting (in a vacume): 331.3 m/s
Yup. Gauss should really move faster than PPC, seen as it breaks the sound barrier... (The flash of light travels at light speed. I'm presuming a common misconception, and I fell right into it.)
You probably meant to say km with that speed of light thing.
Just to mention: I'm not a sniper. Normal PPCs are not suited for "sniping".

And with this most recent development, I have been forced to deliver bad news. The introduction of the world's first ever Particle Projector Cannon (PPC) has been cancelled. Blame PGI.

The only place anyone will now ever get it is in the black market. I wonder how much the "bad guys" will be willing to pay for it. They will make great anti-ship weapons, among other really nasty things. <insert maniacal

Sounds like demanding and skillful gameplay. Not that PPC/gauss meta would be better, but at least ppc and gauss were useable independently from each other.
@Mystere: Thats exactly it. >.< You want TT values? DHS double, PPC WAY faster, field inhibitor. Now.

This nerf bat is going WAY overboard.
Almost all your boating problems would be solved by introducing hardpoint sizes.

Patching now, will post when it's done. Also, who cares about pinpoint. Good players can keep their reticle on target long enough to get four desync'ed AC/2's to stay on target, something tells me they can do it with PPC's and a Gauss.
It actually autocorrected to {scrap}. Nice one PGI.
Also...DID YOU ACTUALLY PUT AMMO IN THE LEGS WHEN YOU DIDN'T NEED TO!?

This is the build, not sure if the link is gonna work but i'll fix if it doesn't. 65KPH, not the 80 I said (because I upgunned from an AC/10 a while ago and that guy could go a lot faster) but the point is the same. This is a stupid fast mech that I use to average 400 damage a match (more like half 600+, half I get blown away in the first minute and score less than 200) and which I am pretty sure is gonna be the meta pretty soon.
AC/20 ammo is in CT, by the time the ammo would pop I've spent it all and am down to the paired LL's. I can maneuver better than any heavy on the map, have full armor where I need it, and I'm still combat effective until I've lost both arms, which takes a LONG time with the way the Cataphract can twist.

Fixed, reread. Got wrong numbers... everywhere. (Lightning was converted from miles to meters by phone converter... may not be accurate...)
I claim no such title as a scientist, just to be clear.

Yeah those good players are totally boating AC2s and hitting every shot. It all happens in magical candy land.
