Post patch the game froze on first run, always a good sign.
And the amount of freezes has not changed for me.

This is what happens.

No crash to desktop, just freeze (with last audio buffer?).

Only thing in logs during the freeze are these:
[Error] Runaway thread
OmicronOnline[ELogLevel_Debug]: Performing COmicronOnlineAgent::SendNotification with ClientRequest Notification a_Type=7

Ok, now five games in row. I was not able to finish a single one after the first post, every single one freezes.
Tried to wait on one, ran the sound loops for twenty minutes with screen frozen, Ctrl-Alt-Del and kill.
Before the post some of the games finished (altough atleast one was under 5 min).

One didn't fully freeze as I noticed some of the sounds still played, alt-tab fixed it until the game completely froze.
Here is the recording for it:
http://youtu.be/n5rmh1CiLQU
4 minutes into the game it freezes the first time, torso twist sounds worked and some other people shooting, tried firing the lasers, but they did not make sound so I am not sure about them. Sounds of legs hitting the ground do not appear in either of the freezes.

i5-3570k (watercooled at 40c)
GTX580 (some 70c, fan is quiet so it is having no problems).
8Gigs of ram.
Sitting right next to one of backbones in Finland so connection is 1000M up and 1000M down.

OBS used for recording.

Sadly I seem to have this issue too now. User to have 1 crash, often in first game. End process in task manager, and starting game again, and I could play for hours with no issue. Today I've tried 3 games, and all froze after 1-3 minutes of gameplay. Sounds seem to keep playing, but screen is frozen.

Yes i delete cache folder every patch. I had same issues couple of patches ago. Constant crashes all the time. Now i have issues only with MG's that locks my pc for random time on rare occasions.

Okay, it still freezes.

First of all - it's a graphics engine. And it can freezes even if nothing happens (in testing ground for example).

I guess it depends on high/low settings. I've played months on lowest settings without freezes (well almost).

I'll try to figure out - what setting will freeze game exactly.
tests (5 matches at least):

effects
object detail --- maxed
particles
post processing
shading --- maxed
shadows ---maxed
textures --- maxed
environment --- maxed
AA --- maxed

same here, still freezing, can be any time during the match, including when spectating, just loading at pre launch screen where all the names are shown and when the last end battle screen is shown. Weird, patch day I played 30 games with no problems, today first game and it freezes. What's happening guys?

Same for me. This morning was even more strange : All mechs except mine were frozen. I was able to see constant firing from others mechs but they don't damage me. I was able to walk on the whole map too. Second time I have this problem since the new patch.

Hanging mostly at startup - black screen of death most games. Some games get through to player list and no further. Have had one successful game and even it experienced hitching. Other games I play online do not experience the issue, so I don't believe it is my hardware or network connection (typical ping time in game before patch was <65ms). I enjoy the game when it works, but with go-live coming up there should not be this level of instability. Error I am seeing is AppHangB1. Log shows consistent multiple "[Error] Runaway Thread" issues on each unsuccessful game start.

I get freezes during the game a lot since last patch, the only way I find to fix it is to ctrl-alt-delete, open task manager then switch back to the game. This will happen game after game then I restart my PC and it is fixed until it starts happening again.

I appear to have fixed my problem - I had the latest driver for my GeForce installed prior to the latest game patch, but took the time to do a reinstall. Problem has not recurred since doing the reinstall (5 straight games with no hitching, poor frame rate, or freezes). Will update if the problem recurs.

Just a couple of thoughts

(1) Have you also submitted a support ticket? PGI tends to look at these sooner as it allows them to update their issues database and
(2) If you are running an Nvidia card, are you running release or beta drivers? I have had issues with beta drivers in the past.

Hopefully that helps (probably won't but I try to do what I can) and good luck with resolution.

Okay. i have no idea why it freezes. Memory does not leak. Graphic card about 40'C. Processor cool as ice.

Any one knows - when they test DirectX 11?

Getting constant freezes and disconnects. I just shake my head that this game is still having stability issues after a whole year.
