What is the 1st RDR?
The 1st RDR is an independent outfit serving the Free Rasalhague Republic as a mobile garrison or, if need be, a deniable asset. Though the 1st RDR receives its orders through the FRR's Mercenary Relations Department as a formality, it is not itself a mercenary group, but a loyal paramilitary organization that operates on an indefinite contract and cannot refuse KungsArmé orders. Modeled on the French Foreign Legion of Old Terra, the 1st opens its doors to all those who would fight to keep the FRR a free, democratic state, regardless of race, nationality, or prior service. With that said, the unit's founders and much of its membership are home-grown Republicans who joined because they wanted a more challenging posting than the regular KungsArmé, or were unable to join the KungsArmé due to disqualifying factors such as trouble with the law or other colorful backgrounds.
Who are we?
We in the 1st RDR are a diverse group of gamers; some of us have been Battletech fans for years, and some of us are just getting introduced to the franchise, but all of us are here because we love the game, want it to succeed, and want to succeed within it. Based primarily in the USA, we have members from all American timezones, but have a growing contingent of European players, as well. We currently run the FRR Comms Hub, a communal TS3 server open to all members of the FRR faction, and maintain good relations with the other FRR outfits that share it with us, so there's always someone online.
From original Battletech fans here for the nostalgia, to newer gamers here for MWO's unique gameplay, the 1st RDR is open to anyone who wants to be a part of a mature, laid-back MWO unit. With that said, we aim to be a tenacious force and a valuable asset to the FRR faction in Community Warfare and wish to cultivate a competitive approach as well. Anything we do, we wish to do well.
What do we expect?
Maturity. We're here to blast mechs and relax, not bicker with each other. Even when we disagree, we resolve our differences like adults. We also value sportsmanship and a good attitude toward the game and our opponents, this isn't Xbox Live.
We want to see you participate! Our website and forums are there to keep you informed and provide a place where we can get to know each other, so we want you to take part in that.
Currently, we use TeamSpeak3 as our VoIP client. If you join us, we do expect that you'll drop into our TS3 channels if you're playing MWO. It's okay if you want to solo-PUG every now and then, but if you're in the unit, we want you to come out and play with us!
Why should you join?
Because we want you to have fun! Whether you're a hardcore player looking for organized drops, or a relaxed player just looking for some good guys to PUG with, we want you to play the game your way and enjoy it. Most of us are older, mature gamers, so we don't have a strict hierarchy or issues with drama, and no one will ever tell you how to play or what to use, unless you ask for advice or want to try out for our competitive team.

Tragically, heavy casualties sustained through the Clan invasions among both officers and enlisted personnel has proven too costly for the glorious 1st Rasalhague Dragonregimente to sustain, and Kungsarmè command has been forced to disband the outfit. Surviving veterans have been spotted taking up arms with sister FRR units such as the Isengrim, the Sons of Odin, or have been folded back into regular FRR ranks.
The 1RDR thanks the FRR for its support and hospitality, and hopes that in our time fighting among you, we earned your respect on and off the battlefield.
