Better keep your mouth shut.
No one here wants another "apology" or a wall of text about the new and so wonderful and elementary "ingame shop"...That's why they are not telling us anything.
September the 17th is (and let me quote Paul McCartney): JUST ANOTHER DAY!

Awesome, because, you know... less than 2 weeks from launch, there isn't any pressure to create a finished product... or at the very least... pretend to.
I didn't think people in Bishop owned computers, tell me don't you ever get sick of living in a town that's like a mile in size? Where everyone knows who you are, and no chance of ever getting strange *****? Ontop of that, California is socialist slave state so not like you can actually enjoy all that open space.

And yes: I'm saying that if you, or anyone, doesn't like this game, they shouldn't play it. If they don't think anything will change, they should leave and play something else like Star Citizen, GTA XVLCCII or whatever it is, or anything else.
Either enough of you guys will leave that PGI will have to change something and you'll get your wish that way, or they won't, will fail, and someone, eventually, will pick up the mantle and try again.
In your condescending response, you never once considered that maybe I followed this game for a while before finally hopping on the train when I felt the game was in a stable place where I wanted actually wanted to play; where I would actually enjoy playing. Where the bugs were being hammered out.
You see, unlike what you apparently did, I looked at it and saw "Beta" and realized that the game was likely to be an error-filled mess while they tweaked things. Perhaps even a political mess as the devs tried desperately to get the game to a working, playable state before their own deadlines.
So no, Sidekick, I'm not completely ignorant to this whole thing, and I have invested in this game in the form of Premium Time, MCs, and the Overlord Package. Just because I didn't jump on day one, doesn't mean I'm some ignorant moron who "wasn't there."
You were. And now you're a jaded mess who likes to condescend to people on a message board for a game you profess not to play anymore. Why should I at all care what you have to say?
I'm one of those who have been around for quite a while now and i used to be full of hope, but over time am finding that i am getting more and more jadded with PGI.
It's a real pity i see glimmers that PGI have an idea of what they are doing then it takes 2 steps back, for instance the pheonix pack i held of buying this as i was getting tired of the high alpha builds, they brought in ghost heat that was complicated but did help with getting rid of certain builds.
I then purchased the overlord pack, since then we had 3pv brought into the game, had a frankly insulting poll that just gave PGI the answer they wanted and now have reduced PPC's to a point that are bringing in UAC/5 that i find can strip armour far quicker than the ppc/guass ever could.
Again we are let down with no key features at launch, but we are going to go ahead regardless.
I really wish that I didn't feel this way but over all this time you get the impression that there are some very good staff/game designers that have just have no decent leadership.

So whats new for live? A removal of "beta" under the MW logo on the top left of the launcher?

Reviews?
Wait a second.... REVIEWS?!!!?!
Seriously, how deluded and clueless is Bryan?
I feel bad for him.
And if you know me, you know I really do. Cause I really want to think he's been doing his best. But at this point I am pretty sure his best is... SO not enough
I hope for him (and us) that reviews will bring him what he hopes, and I hope to be proven wrong. But I am quite convinced he'll be slammed in the face with terrible ratings, and I must say should that happen, he'll be the one who brought it on himself.

We get it.
Go.
Away.
Feeling better now that its off your chest? Good.
I could explain to you the psychology on why many of us founders are still here, but at the end it boils down to this:
I love Mechwarrior
People like me paid 120 bucks for the game because we would love to have a good mechwarrior game. MWO could be an excellent mechwarrior game as the core experience of it (the combat part) is awesome.
BUT
The core experience will not make you stick around the game for months. You need long term goals for that to happen, goals which are simply not present and will not be present for several more months, according to the devs.
Do I want to leave? Hell no.. I want an awesome mechwarrior game. MWO could very well be that game, given enough time. (time it might not have)
Should I leave? Yes.. The whole thing with all the failed promises starts to remind me of a bad poker game, where I am chasing that elusive river card that could or could not lead me to win. In poker, you have to know when to cut your losses and fold. Would I not be emotionally committed to the franchise, I would have crossed that point a long time ago. Luckily though, the founders of this game will have a hard time saying good bye to their dreams.
Make no mistake however: there comes a point in every dream, when you wake up and realize it was just a dream. If PGI fails to get their act together by that time, well.. then you will probably have this nice forum all to yourself and will not have to deal with the annoying whining of the likes of me.

It's going to be shredded, well other than PC gamer who will no doubt declare it the best game ever made, but the kind of coverage it's gonna get from other places is going to be harsh I feel.
All I can do is sigh and watch.

How can 'Reviews' be a reason to not include any features at Launch? Are reviewers going to be told to 'hold off til later cuz big things are coming soon?'
Is September 17th (aka GTA V Day) Launch day or not?
or is the marketing, the reviews and something about new consoles giving us another date further down the line oh I dunno maybe when Project Phoenix goes live? Or When Xbox One launches? Have we really, unwittingly been beta testing the console game all along?
I wonder now how many founders signups they would have had if they had made clear the game launch would effectively just be another patch day? Haven't we all been led to believe throughout a significant part of open beta (and closed beta for those who were in on it) that Game Launch was going to be something substantial?

We will hear apology many times more. I've seen it happen in other games and it started happening in here.
Garth I think it's time for you to leave your chair and let someone else be the "King" someone with bright mind perhaps?

So when Bryan next time looks at the statistics 2 weeks after the launch it will likely show player growth which i guess he should be happy about because a bigger number is always better, especially when you ignore the context and don´t look at those players not paying a dime......

single heat sinks could use a buff since NOBODY uses them
It's not single heat sinks that are the problem, they are working as they should be.
The problem is that PGI increased weapon fire rates without decreasing heat generation by an equal amount. They just made all mechs run hotter than they should which forces players to buy double heat sinks.
If they had left heat generation the way it was supposed to be single heat sinks may be viable for mechs that didn't generate much heat, even if doubles were at their original 2.0 instead of 1.4.
But even so, doubles are a higher tech level and PGI seems to want, or at least they say they want, to balance different levels of tech, which to me means they are going to nerf "better" equipment. I'm worried about what this means for clan mechs
PGI have a very weird way of doing things.
They say they want heat management to be important yet give players the option of customization, letting players create mechs with as little heat generation as they want, and they even removed the heat scale from the original game which hampered mechs that got too hot.
To me it just looks like they don't really want viable single heat sinks but instead.want a money sink forcing players to grind more.
They say they want 3pv to help new players, but instead of putting it in a tutorial they add it into the game.
They say they want to stick as close to Battletech as possible, yet change things that don't need changed (ECM).
I'm worried that MWO is turning into a robot fighting game instead of Battletech.

still without CW game is broken.
3pv and coolshot and champions to replace trials with cadet bonuses etc.
I echo thesae sentiments. Loved the game in closed beta - now not so much and the complete failure of PGI to communicate on the development of the pillars of the game.
I've half a mind to request refund, because they're going to actually launch this thing without the completion of the content promised us via the founders program.
Also, I don't post much, but am getting very fed up these days.
and yes - I'm one of the log-on on patch day people hoping for a change for the better

(I recommend that anyone who is interested in the future of the game listen to them.)
On one hand he talks about upcoming features, which do sound good. But then i think of "when"? So many things are pushed back or delayed for various reasons.
Also, i think about "if". First person only sounded good, but is gone.
On the topic of first person Bryan talks about private matches where players can set up the matches with options, letting players choose if they want to play 1pv-only. But (yes you knew there was a but) as these matches will not be a part of CW the results of these matches will have no effect on player stats and there will be no XP or C-Bill rewards. I mean, what the hell? No reward for playing the way you want?
He also goes on to lie...well i suppose technically he didn't lie. Let's say he goes on to distort the truth about a poll where the majority of players voted for 1pv in 12v12 matches, completely ignoring that it was a loaded poll and many players who later read the thread and realized this deleted their previous votes.
He also talks about always getting feedback from players about PGI's decisions that affect gameplay. Where is this happening? It certainly isn't happening on these forums...unless he means they are getting feedback and then completely ignoring it.
Most people believe that the Gauss/PPC changes were in response to the meta, to eliminate the alpha shots. Yet in the interview he states that the PPC changes were done because of that and the gauss change was just done as a round of weapon balances and wasn't to do with the meta. Why couldn't he state that on these forums and let people know that their gauss wasn't nerfed because of PPC's?
Again, lack of communication with the players.
In the end there are good things talked about in the interview, if they happen.
Seriously, if you have a couple of hours to spare listen to the interview. Part 3 coming tomorrow.

Its basically this. He mentions that there are no real technical limits to what they could achieve which gets your hopes up but he also talks about a 2 to 3 year time frame for the big features. Understandably, these things take time and there are always delays but the question that comes to mind is "How long do I want to wait?''.
I mean when he talked about the prospect of these multi-layered battles where you seize control of an occupied planet by playing through different phases of the attack with guarded bases and stuff sounded awesome! That's the kind of idea that will make this game worthwhile (and its all part of CW). Surely they realize that and consequently they'd work appropriately to get that feature out the door faster than within a 2 to 3 year time frame?
