Good lord, the mental image......

Now you can't un-picture it. I'm simultaneously ashamed to have put it there, and happy it happened.

You can tell in this post easily who would like a Madcat and who wouldn't.

People who want it (myself included) talk about how the missile racks will be a seperate hitbox or part of the arms, while people who won't almost DEMAND it have the misslile racks as side torsos.

"I hate the Madcat (because it is too mainstream), and I will never pilot one, so it is only fair that it is super easy to kill!"

Really guys? I get that it might not need a seperate hitbox for the missiles...but you really think having them share the hitboxes with the arms isn't fair?

Doesn't matter either way. The Madcat is still a Catapult with arms.

It's exactly like a catapult with arms.
Except you know, for all the extra armor, the extra firepower, the extra speed...
Wait...how is it like a catapult again?

No, it's more like a Marauder with ears. Get it right.

I'm pretty sure Alex cooked up this image of the Timberwolf.

You know, that clan mechs dont die from side torso destruction? Clan XL Engine only uses 2 Crit Slots in each side Torso, you need to destroy 3 Crit Slots to kill the engine.

So either way.... we will see.

in which case it would be worse than a majority of clan mechs

I see so much beating off to the fact that this will be an Omni-Mech.

Well I must ask you, what does an Omni-Mech mean in BT?

Now what does the MWO Mech-Lab allow you to do?

Following Canon Designs for Clan Mechs will produce horribly flawed mechs in the Shooter Environment that is MWO.

Clan Tech will not compensate for it. Why?

The flood of Clan Mechs will mean the flood of Clan Tech. Talk and comparisons of Stock Designs is completely pointless as we will be seeing Frankenmechs, IS Mechs with Clan Tech. I do not see PGI suddenly adding new options and layers of customization and then locking it out to -only- the new mechs.

Not to mention that there has already been talk of Clan Tech not being the "Flat Out Better Option In Every Possible Way" that it was in BT.

In the end the endless, blissful Rage that the hardcore Clanners will produce will drown out the forums.

The sad part is alot of the Clan mechs are going to be totally DOA due to thier shapes.

The Timberwolf (Madcat) for example has a huge CT that juts forward and can be easily hit from the side just like a Catapult, plus it has huge missile boxes which will have to be either attached to their arms or side torsos. Whatever the case they are going to be very vulnerable to fire. Same goes for the Maddog (Vulture), hit has the same jutting forward torso as a Dragon.

Also look at the sheer mass and width of the Warhawk and Direwolf. Both have the jutting torso but have huge side torsos as well. Oh and talking about a Walking CTs, just look at the Gladiator and the Gargoyle. The Summoner might have this problem as well.

This leaves the Hellbringer, Nova, Stromcrow, Ice Ferret, Viper, Kit Fox, Mist Lynx and Fire Month which are basically the lights and mediums with only one 65 ton heavy that doesn't look like it will have hit box issues.

The real problem is that PGI says mech scaling is based off canon sizes, and that's why scaling is so ******. So while that won't be so bad for the Direwolf, which is quite short for an assault mech reaching just 12m, it's terrible news for the Firemoth, which is 11m and change.

Yeah.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, HOW IS THIS NOT JUST A CATAPULT WITH ARMS!?

You people continually blather arguments with no basis in what i'm saying.

"IT R HAS ARMORS!!!" Doesn't change the fact the design is just a Catapult with some arms.

"IT CANN USE CLEN TEK!!!!" Still doesn't change the fact the designer slapped arms on a Catapult.

"IT GO FAST!!!" Catapult with some arms... still.

"IT CEN HAZ BETUR GUNZ!!!!" Well, I'm sure any Catapult with arms -OOPS, I MEAN MADCAT- can mount pretty decent weaponry.

You sir, are being trolled. It's so obviously a Catapult with Marauder arms tacked on, that the canon name is a hyphenation of the two.
