Cplt-C4 "lrm" Opinions

I need some Help.
After Returning to the Game (long Time no play.),
i feel lacking much Stuff and also other Threads are somehow "Old".
My First Mech the CPLT-C4, i use him for "LRMS" and just wanted to know,
is my Build Good/Bad etc.
From my Ingame Exp. the Build feels "Right" im totally Happy with it.
Just want to Hear other Opinions.
So Here is the Build:

If you are happy with it, it's fine, personally I would drop 1 ton of ammo and add a MLas just to have SOMETHING if your ears get shot off.

I prefer having options for self-defense and big alphastrikes up close. My C4 takes LRM40+SSRM4+2xML. I tend to lock my own targets to not waste the relatively limited ammo supply. If you come between 180m and 270m, you're dead in seconds. If you think you can hug the LRM boat, I have a surprise for you.

Your CT has 2 Energy Hardpoints, so TAG and a MLas, and drop 1 ton of ammo. Backup weapons are important, even if you only have 1, hey, I've killed mechs with1 SLas before, 1 MLas CAN make a difference. Whether you want to take my advice or not, thats entirely up to you, I'm just giving you what you asked for.
I'll just say this: Some of the best players I have ran with and against, feel the same way I do about this matter.
Edit: The difference between your build, and Modo44's build is Light mechs will harass Modo to make him stop firing LRM's for a short time, and then run away once they have taken a few Streaks and MLas hits. Your build a Light mech will see as a target of opportunity and destroy you because you have nothing at all to defend yourself with.

used SSRM,SRM before but didnt liked it.
For the Laser wich one to pick small one or Medium one?

Just 1 MLas, keep the TAG imo, TAG works for streaks too.

Less tonnage than the 10's. Less missiles lost to ams vs 10's. Same tonnage as the 20's, Faster fire rate than the 20's.
Also rejig the ammo/bap locations to lessen the chance of a side torso blowout.
And us the last 0.06 tonnage for 2 more armour.

If you fire in volleys (all 40, or 20 at a time), it doesn't make a difference.
If you chainfire, you will still loose to AMS all 5 missiles from firing LRM 5, so firing them will be pointless.
A big advantage over 10s is that you are not affected by ghost heat, while 4 x LRM10 are.
And as you mentioned, faster reload rate compared to LRM20

I still miss my 1Ton of LRM Ammo but yea even 1 ML can cut of Arms etc

The only concern I share lies in getting your "ears" destroyed leaving you with nothing. However in this case I feel it's also good game. Again a medium laser isn't going to make a difference to having no guns.
