So, what will it be, guys?
Three days from now I'll be grouping up with a few lancemates and completing some smaller contracts raiding supply convoys until I get enough C-bills together for a decent brawling mech. Then I'll go right into the heat and take some high-paying contracts that put me up against other merc lances. (And get some well-deserved chassis and weapons in salvage.)

I can tell you one thing, it beats having to hold off waves of oncoming mechs and armor assets, and certainly tops having to assault a base that's supporting its defending mechs with turrets and garrisoned troops. (At least hopefully you guys know enough to find a blindspot in the turret defenses and take out the generators before taking the plunge.)

I'm also going to play as a merc because I have a feeling if anyone's going to run into the clanners, it'll be those on the outer-sphere and periphery. Who knows, maybe I'll end up with a salvaged omni-mech whilst the inner-sphere faction-goers can only gawk at my array of clan weapons.

At the very least, I look forward to dropping with my friends in private 2v2 matches to see who can trollmando the hardest, or win in a Jagermech MG brawling match.
I'll be seeing you soon on the battlefield, mechwarriors.

For now I'm already into a merc corp so.. As mercs we'll be able anyway to work for one or more factions, being independent at the same time.

Also, not everyone of us might be willing to join davion or steiner or kuritas or whatever, because some oppose one faction or another. Instead taking money from either isn't so "personal" xD

I'm just going to stay lone wolf(maybe form a merc co), I forsee no reason to join a house. And as for the Clans...The 331 wants to have some words with them. :\

Sure we can. Once september 17th hits the game will be a finished product with all of its features intact. There will be UI 2.0, community warfare(Which should support some interesting asymmetrical gamemodes), and most specifically the contract-based game modes that test your skill with a high-risk high-reward meta-game that makes you appreciate the amenities(Such as free repair and rearm) extended by the factions.

Yup, it's nothing but sunshine and lollipops starting september 17th. Say goodbye to waiting countless months for core features to be sparsely mentioned whilst the game progressively gets exponentially less interesting.
You'll be welcome, for the first time, to the real mechwarrior online.

We'll see what happens with CW. Right now factions mean nothing.

Doesn't really matter does it?

Pretty hilarious that 2 years into MWO we can't even form Companies/Mercs/Factions/whatever

such a basic part of any group played game..

2014?

Oh, silly, you must think I'm talking about PGI's release of the original mechwarrior online. That happened the instant the company snatched up founders money and used it to fund other games. I'm talking about the 2032 reboot for the franchise. I can't wait for it!

For now, I am staying as a Lone Wolf (who literally has a battalion of mechs [31 in my collection]) until more is revealed about Factions and Mercs. But personally, at the moment, I am leaning towards the Merc Corps.
