Three days from now I'll be grouping up with a few lancemates and completing some smaller contracts raiding supply convoys until I get enough C-bills together for a decent brawling mech. Then I'll go right into the heat and take some high-paying contracts that put me up against other merc lances. (And get some well-deserved chassis and weapons in salvage.)
I can tell you one thing, it beats having to hold off waves of oncoming mechs and armor assets, and certainly tops having to assault a base that's supporting its defending mechs with turrets and garrisoned troops. (At least hopefully you guys know enough to find a blindspot in the turret defenses and take out the generators before taking the plunge.)
I'm also going to play as a merc because I have a feeling if anyone's going to run into the clanners, it'll be those on the outer-sphere and periphery. Who knows, maybe I'll end up with a salvaged omni-mech whilst the inner-sphere faction-goers can only gawk at my array of clan weapons.
At the very least, I look forward to dropping with my friends in private 2v2 matches to see who can trollmando the hardest, or win in a Jagermech MG brawling match.
I'll be seeing you soon on the battlefield, mechwarriors.
