The big surprise is going to be a xbox one announcement..

Hence the ongoing slide towards a game that looks increasingly like MechAssault.

I wonder how many founders would have signed up to create MechAssault 3? I suspect: not many.

Sounds like a blast.

Since when did the word "Autistic" replace the word "Ritarted". That is pretty f**ked up.

Edit: ****** is stared out.

We had some people from KONG at the launch event, including myself.

The event itself was pretty awful, I feel bad for anyone who paid to fly down from out of state and came solo, it seems to me the only fun to be had was either if you were in the tournament yourself or if you were flying down with friends or fellow corp members. The whole event was standing room only with only 2 small couches, so you had to stand for all 8 hours, the free food was just some broccoli with dip and some bitter tasting flat bread with cheese and veggies and cold hotwings, the event was plagued by slow spots where we would just stand around doing nothing while they had technical difficulties (and I'm talking about in-game ones), and I don't know how you people watching the stream fared but in person you couldn't make out anything on the poor quality projector screen so you could barely even watch the tournament during the Forest Colony drops, and something you might have not noticed if you were watching the stream, but in person you couldn't hear the commentary at all, so for us the tournament was silent except for the game. The only thing to even do was to play on the two Razer laptops upstairs. It seems to me like everyone was just standing around waiting for their free shirts, which, they weren't even planning on giving out until 9:30 to make us stay. Of course, so many people wanted to leave that they actually started giving them out early by request, and let me tell you, there was a line at the exit just to get your stuff and go after that PC Gamer rehash presentation.

I know people will say that it was PGI's first event so give them a break but...what was even the point of the event? They could have just had the tourny without flying everyone down, there was literally nothing to do, we were paid in t-shirts to just stand around and make the room look populated so PGI could get some nice footage to show investors, there was 0 point to this meeting, the developers and PGI staff didn't even interact with us past giving brief AtD style answers to any questions we could ask the few brief times we could catch them when they'd run from the stage and back into their little segretated VIP area. They should have AT LEAST shown off clan mech concept art considering Bryan said it's already finished. But NOPE.

I think the worst of it all was how insincere Bryan came off as, then again, for all I know I was confusing incompetence with insincerity, not sure which is worse. I have no idea if you guys had a view of this from the stream but the entire time it seemed like Bryan was just making things up as he went along, to the point where he'd frantically motion toward Phil to change the slide when he'd run out of things to think up of. Even more hilarious was Paul just sitting there the entire time playing Tetris on his phone, completely and utterly disinterested in the whole thing.

I have no idea if the event was any different from the PoV of the stream, but in person, it painted a very stark reality. I don't know about you guys, but the event has done the opposite for me, it's killed any hope I had for getting any sort of new meaningful features or game modes any time soon, or for this game to ever get any better.

Wait, the "Paul is just playing Tetris on his phone" was a real thing? I saw him come out to the announcer area maybe twice but he never said anything, I figured he'd have some piece to say but I never caught it if he did.

They made what I thought was a genuinely funny joke about Paul avoiding everybody while playing Tetris and I thought they'd bring him up afterwards to share some news but that never materialized -- apparently that wasn't a joke? This is crazy.

Oh yeah and Phil totally fellating EVERY NGNG guy he could. And he wouldn't shut up about being a marine. It's insulting to people who actually did things and make a career out of military service. He's just some twerp that won't shut up with a mic way too damn loud, rambling on inanely about nothing as he fails to properly utilize his spectator tools.
Adapt and overcome Marine! It is what it is! When I was a Marine, hey it's my friend Ed! I'm rooting for the team with my friend Ed! Ed's not on this team, I'm rooting for this team that has my other friend instead. Let me get my friend up here to talk to you. Hey it's Ed again. Man, Ed's the best. He leads like Marines lead.

I am ashamed to admit that I bought MechAssault and Lone Wolf. I was desperate.

I said this game is sliding increasingly towards MechAssault. By that I meant that way graphic fidelity has been reduced, running animations got more arcadey in the last patch, modules and consumables, and other fluff, makes it feel like a PC game getting dumbed down to console level, again.

The strange lack of progress in the past 9 months could also be explained by developer time being spent on porting to consoles.

My view.

On the positive side, my young kids loved MechAssault. They're now both MWO players.

Funny. My dad loved previous MechWarrior games, and when I showed him MWO, he quit after five matches. Imagine that?

During Bryan's presentation I was there right in front of him. Oh and stream? I thought you were there. That wasn't the entire time. Stop trying to twist it into something negative which is what all you guys try to do.

Oh my god, don't tell me you were that annoying blonde ***** in the Atlas shirt yelling every 5 seconds, interrupting Bryan and disrupting the whole thing with your bad jokes every 5 seconds.
