I am always amazed by all the negativity in this 'community'. Do you people realize how ridiculous you sound when you go off about how much you hate the game and then try to build credibility for yourself by listing how much you have spent or how many hours a day you play? If you really hate it then stop playing and spending money on the game. The only thing I think PGI has done wrong so far is, based on the demographic that seems to be make up , kiss the backsides of the most negatively vocal part of this community, they should change the name of the forums to "Whiny Neckbeard Warrior Online"

I felt that this needed to be said again with an amendment.
...so brave and full of insight when they sit there behind a monitor spewing half truths and blasphemy because they didn't get what they thought they should get. QUIT ASKING FOR HANDOUTS!
and...
the only beef I have is the MC for colors, but if I really thought they would make a mech better I would pay it.
Yal should feel lucky they don't charge MC for weapons, we'd all be running around with SL and SRM2's
That would be AWESOME for a change.
...and PGI if you are reading this, I would like a teaser of a new map with large open areas up top and caverns underneath , or maybe a swamp with sinkholes or other "walking" hazards" how fun would it be to come across an ATLAS in a hole!
or...
TBA...

Flaccid launch. What groundbreaking features added? Anything of note added on the launch day? Website still says "Beta." Try this... Posted Image or this... Posted Image

So community warfare aka a metagame and level of awesomeness that would finally bring this game beyond League of Legends' spawn that happened to borrow the mechwarrior IP has gone from "on launch" to "sometime within the next year" because GOTTA MAKE DEM MECHS!

Beautiful, and as someone who planned to spend some serious money when this game "launched" I ask that you try again. Maybe eventually letting us play with tanks, planes, infantry, battle armour and even ships- because that's what the Battletech/MW Universe has always been about- a portrayal of a totality of war unseen elsewhere in sci fi, and again a borderline mech MOBA does not do that universe the justice it deserves.

More stuff, quicker, and we'll stop the petitions.

I was surprised that there was no surprise at launch, although I wouldn't be surprised if that itself was the surprise.

Despite the huge amount of negativity expressed by other authors, I'm just glad this game exists . More than twenty years ago, I became a fan of MechWarrior and almost ten years after the MW4: Mercenaries I felt a void in my heart, until a first teaser of MechWarrior 2010, which gave hope that somebody is trying to create the next game of the series. Since then changed almost everything - developer, publisher and game model, but I'm still very happy with the result, like my son, who every evening asking me to "play a robot" ;) and gets very upset if I finish late at work and come back when he goes to bed. I am ready to give developers more time to improve this game, I waited a long time and do not hurry. Lack of "beta" tag, of course, does not change anything for me, but if it is an event for developers, let they enjoy it to the full. Thanks to the whole team

Good luck to all!

I agree that the community whines way too much. People want a company to make a balanced MW game but they don't actually want any changes to be made.

That being said, though, this isn't a really a launch. Nothing is changing. The game is missing core components. This is another marketing push.

I think the biggest irritation I have with launch is: in the video, there's footage of 30+ mechs vs 30+ mechs on caustic...
Impossible ingame.

sorry but this launch is about as climactic as a small laser, PEW PEW PEW , sorry PGI. But on the other hand I have been a mech junkie since my first card board cut out came out of the box. I Have played every form of this game and with what they have to work with, I as a player and a devoted fan to the Universe, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the chance to pilot the mechs made available to us. It might not be what we want , but, at least it IS MECHWARRIOR. From cut outs to mind boggling maps, thank you to the developers that brought us this far. Enjoy your Launch.

You've got to wonder what they have been doing the last couple of months since they announced "launch" date as today. There hasn't been any real content added in terms of maps or game modes. There has been a couple of mechs but working to a date for going live I hoped (perhaps naively) that they'd be slaving night/day on the other content than just mechs.

Not having the UI is a major issue. You're trying to get players into the game who'll learn the current UI only to get it completely replaced... eventually. The launch UI should have been the one we are waiting on IMHO

So are we actually going to find out who we are teamed up with BEFORE the event so we can get in some practice like you guys wanted, or are we just going to end up forming our own teams once we arrive for the event?

At least you will be at the launch party event, which puts you ahead of most of the MWO community.

Impossible ingame.

It's 23 mechs charging down a hill. Nothing wrong with that, everything was captured in-game.

Maybe because the video is nearly 1:1 the same as this?

Wow, congrats on lying to the Community. What was released exactly?

Actually I'll answer my own question. This "launch" was a good and proper to all the fanbois who kept hiding behind the "It's still Beta" excuse. You were 100% wrong.

MWO will get slammed in all gaming reviews and will only survive on hopes and dreams.

Well, I'll say this... I was here at the beginning. Got in way too early and couldn't take it very long. I think my expectations exceeded the game as it was and I was disappointed.

It was my own fault - I had no business getting involved so early thinking the game would be done.

So I left... havent logged in since, and today I see that Game Informer posted that it finally got out of beta! So - this is a finished product now, lets see how much has changed! *crosses fingers*
