I think they bit off more than they could chew, have some of the base skills to make this work, but not enough to make it work well.

I think the time expectancy was way to optimistic and there is now panick in the development of the game, and it has become a cash grab trying to shore up the game while developement goes at a snails pace.

I think the developement has stalled even more because of the ceo and the head designer putting the developement into consoles in an attempt to shore up the inflow of cash, and none have the courage to admit the real reasons why the games is progressing painfully slow.

I think if when the problems started happening that if they had said look guys we have problems, most of the community would have said ok we're a bt fed up but glad your trying to make us a game, this would have if done in a timely fashion, caused less migration of people and damage to PGi's credability, but they chose another path a business path of silence rather than an honest approach.

Now its far to late, the community would yell and say we told you so and leave, and so the silence continues, and people melt away regressing developement further, as I strongly believe that 3pv and console developement will not help this title, all we get are vague numbers from the people that many here no longer trust, and it would take independant and published metrics of how healthy the game is and how many play, for the disgruntled to change their opinions, and I can say is if the numbers are good you don't hide them, maybe there are enough to keep this game going for a long time, maybe not.

2015 won't happen for this title if they don't get ui2 and CW out soon, unlike some I think there will be another christmas for the game but not a second unless pgi stop doing dumb things and get the game working as more than just arena fights with lots of mechs

Its sad, as every founder, wants this game to succeed and I think it needs to, as I do not think there will be another, battle tech game after this and MWT go west

This is an FPS. They went live with hit detection issues. Going live in 2013 with poor hit detection? They deserve everything they get. Forgiving past grievances will not fix hit detection, or the placeholder pilot trees, or role warfare, or any of the other BASIC features. I think they can get away with no UI2.0 or CW. They need to get it in before they lose the new customers leave due to boredom, but they could deal with it. But going live without the basics? Sigh. This game is not ready to go live and it shows.

Dude, when I played in Cotober last year, I couldn't hit ANYTHING with my AC/20 to save my life, not it works. That's pretty damn good for me

AC hit detection is much better than it was. Not perfect, but good enough. HSR worked well for ballistics. SRM hit detection is poor though and has been for a long time. Hit detection against lights, especially spiders, is also poor. Lasers often don't hit lights at all now (without leading), they used to hit exactly where they were aimed when HSR first came in.

Founders seem to forget that they are not investors. They are not stockholders. PGI owes them nothing and does not answer to them when developing their game.

Not to say PGI should *ignore* that population, but nor should PGI bow to it.

You owe nothing to your most loyal and dedicated supporters? You do not answer to the people you have made promises to?

I would hate to be in a business or private relationship with you.

The only real "deal-breaker" for me has been the floaty, indestructable, immersion breaking 3pv camera thing. I understand if they have to let folks have access to it for what-ever the reason, I just want to be able to NOT SEE IT. I don't care if someone else is using it in a game I am in, I would like a switch to hide 3PV cameras from my own view.

I really hate PGI as a company (litigation over LL? seriously?), but I really want to like MWO. Tough choice. Nix ghost heat, and we'll bury the hatchets, IMO. For now.

The mindless and pantsless rarely see a reason to change their arguments.

It would require too much thinking

I agree. In fact, I used to actively defend MWO before being let down constantly and learning more about PGI's history both with and outside of MWO. I do still have hopes for MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, but it's cautious optimism.

Go watch old videos of the other Mechwarrior game's multiplayer.

Last two games based on Battletech can have their meta summed up in one sentence.

Grab the biggest slowest mech you can, and cram as many guns into it as you can.

Yup.
This game is a total letdown alright. Posted Image
