There is no L in my name - I am trying to ignore it but it's bugging me, lol.

I'm not going to base anything on a Forbes article, especially about a video game. I understand the frustration a lot of people are expressing about the clan package, but if you have ever had kids and/or a wife, you should know that what they say is wrong and what is actually wrong are rarely the same thing - you have to look deeper at the root cause.

The basic clan packages are roughly the same value as the Phoenix packages, if not better, and the PP packages were widely held as extremely good deals (when compared to the normally exorbitant costs of MWO, granted). The timing of the announcement was horrible, though, and the $500 gold mechs were blatant cash grabs that exploded in their faces. Some of it has died down since PGIs recent posts, but they are fighting against the current until they start meeting their deadlines consistently for once.

I'm not going to continue about the iconic discussion, as that is like arguing over who the most iconic movie star is - tastes differ depending on the group you ask.

Sorry "cimarb' typing on smartphone not very accurate. Not entirely sure what you meant on the wife and child comment as generaly mine are pretty good communicators to me? Once again thank you for the debate and you are right different perspectives on this. Have a happy holiday and God Bless

I've always preferred the look of the Thor myself, but I'd have to agree that the Timber Wolf is the most iconic for the general population. I think it had more to do with the fact that it was on the cover of the Mechwarrior games many of us bought.

Would someone with a more thorough background in the Battletech universe agree? Maybe not, but if our pool of opinions includes everyone, then my vote easily goes for the Timberwolf. Just look in the MWO forums and count the number of threads started by forum users asking where their Timberwolf was. Heck, I've read some threads where the OP didn't even know what the mech was called (or what the clans were).... he just knew the mech on the cover of one of the previous titles, and that mech currently was not in MWO. I do not recall a thread like that asking for any other kind of clan mech.

I do have to agree with Cimarb on the timing, however. If PGI had already released UI 2.0, community warfare, fixed all the major bugs, and then released the packages we have now.... I think public opinion would be much different regarding the clan packages.

This has really got to do with our confidence in the game developers than the Clan packages themselves. Right now, our confidence is at an all time low. Consequently, anything the developers do that isn't perceived as directly fixing the top priorities is going to be called into question, and rightly so. Grab the pitchforks! If however, our confidence in the developers was high, I would expect the general response to the Clan packages to be similar to that other game with the $1,000 spaceships.

Here is to praying that PGI does what it takes to restore our confidence!
That, and I'm gonna git in my mech next week and shoot me some Devs! Good hunting!

And on another note. I don't know how you had the patience to type all that in using your phone, Brew. I don't care how "smart" your phone is... to me that just sounds like a huge pain in the wrist. Call me old fashioned.

:P so now you see my long winded response are not exclusive to teamspeak lol. Excellent point on the clan package part it was release timing as opposed to content release.

I try to only post on my iPad, as it's too annoying to attempt on my dinky iPhone and if I'm at my desktop at home I'm not going to be on the forums, lol.

I guess I just haven't kept up with the new games, which is why my iconic is still the Daishi. It is the Atlas of the Clans, where the Mad Cat is the Marauder of the clans - I guess I can live with that.

I think this package is not really fare at all. As an example if you want a Mad Cat (the most iconic Clan mech there is) you will have to buy the second to the highest tier package to be able to obtain it. So no Hero Mad Cat for me.

Now I am "Happy, Happy, Happy" Madcat here I come. A may even throw in a Daishi "Dire Wolf" in there as well for a tip of the hat to Cimarb for him making my absolute day with this info. Still want to wait till Feb 4th to seem them implement some other stuff before giving them more money though

Lol, thanks, but you may also want to check the prices first... It's pretty steep before it gets palatable - around six mechs (the break-even point compared to the packages)

Can't wait to get back from vacation and get some drops in. Good news about them changing the clan Mech packages and some of the balancing they are putting into effect. Still holding off though on purchasing anything until I see more content. How is the new map?

I oh so wish the game had more of my interest. I would buy the top package in a heartbeat! Sigh. I really REALLY am looking forward to what they do with 2.0. With all this extra time they might be able to spruce it up to reinvigorate the game. Then..oh yes then will I get my clan mechs...even the one with the sub sandwich on its head!

Had an absolute blast running our 12 mans Friday. The fact that we had so many come on the weekend before Christmas was awesome. Also the fact that we had several people away for the holidays and we still got a 12 man together as well as practice made it even that much more special. I am so thankful to each and everyone of you guys and "Lady" (Looking at you Emily :P ) that is making our guild grow steady and the right way week to week. Beefmaster thank you for the kind words. You, Tiger and Mac have been great new additons to our community and look forward to dropping with you all the more. With the pilots we now have for MWO and the great Alliance we have with Saints 3G, SOLA, and CS7 over in Star Citizen our future looks very bright indeed.

Lots of talk about more modules, separating consumables from modules, and resting our pilots stats here:
