dug up my old copy of Mechwarrior 4 Vengance, but i cant get it to run, anyone know a fix for this? im running windows 7

What's wrong with it? Did you install the latest patches?

It works fine for me Win7 64-bit.

Don't know about Vengence, but my MW4: Mercenaries works normal on Win 7 @1900x1080. Try running in win xp compability mode

Try MekTek for Mechwarrior 4:Mercenaries, bit of a download but it ran fine on Win7 for me. Not sure where you would get updates for mech4 tho.

MW4 merc runs well on 64bit although graphics look a bit old and the game doesnt support fully some joysticks, BUT you can practive in your stock Atlas....

i have an issue with mw4:mercs its says my driver isnt compatible i have a NVIDIA Geforce GX 550 ti i was wondering if wondering if there was a compatible driver for it

I got a GTX 550ti and I have no problems.

I downloaded the Mektek MW4 Mercs game. I dont know if that helps you or not?

hmm the MW4:mercs runs but it only runs in windowed 800x600 view. It says theirs a nother applications running, but i cant find it.

Get mektek mw4merc's u will get a mekPak wich a huge amount of nw mechs get the HD patch and Hud Patch and have a lotz of fun there

Did Win7 give you a "MW4 did not install correctly, install with recommended settings?" warning?

If so just click "yes" and install with wondows recommended settings. Or just install with Win98/Me compatability in accordance with prophecy.

That is all I did and mine is working fine, also if you plan on playing the campaign, search for and install the latest patch as the campaign will have issues and you will have trouble completing some missions.

Something else to take into consideration, DO NOT USE LASERS, USE PULSE LASERS. This will help with MWO as lasers now have to be held on target in MWO.

Go to your mercs folder and execute the "autoconfig.exe".
Choose "ultra", click at "advanced" and pick your options as you like them.

Last but not least make sure that

• if there are more than 1 GPU displayed in the box, that you pick the LAST GPU in that list
  
• you pick the same resolution for the game as you're running in windows.

The menus are all in 800x600, but it should switch to full screen as soon as you enter the "real" game.

i am using the disc but its fully updated i also have the mekpak discs and i downloaded those do i have to download the free version?

You can play the game with the discs - you just won't have the new mechs and weapons then.
A couple years aback there been patches for the disc version as well - as of now you'll NEED the download version (0028 up to 0030c) in order to be fully upgraded.
