Some people REALLY hate cappers. 1-2 weeks ago we were playing on Alpine... we flanked the enemy and had a clear line to their base. Someone said "don't cap". I was playing in my little commando, raced to their cap and started typing "Don't cap completely, just annoy them so they split up". Way before I was finished typing I was destroyed by a well placed salvo from the teammate that had spoken against capping. Had to keep my other teammates from tearing him apart...

Capping IS viable. Yes, if your winning by kills you should not cap COMPLETELY because you make more money and XP by killing then by capping. But theres no reason not to get it going just in case the battle swings around and your team begins to lose... or to split the enemy team apart.

Instead of saying "if you want to play cap, play conquest" I would say "if you would NOT cap, you better play a game between friends and agree on not capping."

You showed a lot more restraint than I would have. Anyone who cares so much about the "principles" of pretend robot combat needs to be prepared to pretend die for them. At the very least I wouldn't want there to be even the possibility of the guy having a glorious last stand after crippling his own team like that.

It'd be one thing if they said something right at the beginning of the match, like "hey guys wanna have a gentlemen's agreement to go out fighting?" but I've never seen anyone do that. I've only seen people get mad that total strangers don't think exactly what they think.

As far as tactics go--tunnel or no tunnel, high or low, whatever--it's situational. I've had many matches where it's plainly obvious that the entire enemy team is situated just forward of the tunnel's rear entrances, and my team won because we used tunnel to flank. I've also had matches where we've gotten reamed because we ignored the tunnel and then suddenly atlases poured out. Really, when it comes to this sort of stuff I rarely say never.

That said, there's a reason goons call the lake in forest colony "Pubbie Lake." That place is a death trap.

I like to call forest colony's tunnel The Love Tunnel because whenever anyone goes in, somebody is going to get ******.
