Which is still ********, and basically just an excuse for them to call Awesomes "bottom tier assaults" and not bother fixing them. They should not at any point be aiming to classify mechs into tiers, within a weight class or not - and especially not when they all cost the same amount of c-bills after a ridiculous grind.

Does that mean it comes with ECM and BAP and a high-rated engine?
If it has ECM, the forums will explode.
I expect it has something like this, 6 medium lasers, AC20, LRM15, STD360 engine and BAP. Or maybe even something weird, like an XL400 engine.

Not defending anything, just clearing up the statement from PGI.
And their aim is still to have every chassis useful in the game.

Phoenix Locust is not a Hero Mech - it's just an exterior facelift of a variant available for CBs. Hero Mechs are unique variants. And you can't just buy Phoenix Locust for MCs, only as a part of Phonix Pack.
I believe that October 1 will bring the Boar's Head, then (October 8, nopatch) they will make standard Locust variants available for MCs only and then deliver Locusts for CBs and Phoenix mechs at October 15. October 22 and 29 will be just the days of crappy sales or events, nopatches.

In other news, Balkan ******** a-ok because {Godwin's Law} were worse.
Edit: Really? REALLY? I get the {Godwin's Law} thing, although that's more properly used in reference to {Godwin's Law}, but really? ********? It's a noun, and not an inherently inflammatory or offensive one. Especially what with it being a thing in the setting.
Your difficulty in conveying your words seems oddly appropriate, given how you were just going to try to insult me anyway.

The arm laser arrays will offset a lot of the Fatlas's inherent torpidity, this thing will be a beast in the middle of a formation. Perhaps with a DDC bro to one side.

Hero mechs are completely seperate variants. You will earn mech xp for the boars head seperately to any other atlas variant. Only champion mechs (and the special sarah's jenner) earn mech XP toward a pooled chassis type. (eg. atlas-RS and atlas-RS(c) earn xp both as atlas-RS).

I still think they should give it masc or something with a heat penalty so I can run around chasing lights and generally scaring the {Scrap} outa everyone only to shut down at a bad time, but that's just me.
Looking forward to it, it won't be perfect, but it looks like fun The reason I bother to play after all.
c r a p is a dirty word? changed to scrap above? Glad I toned myself down, gosh, jolly.

Good variant, should have been a stock one. But it's a hunk of junk for it's value/hero status.
expected so much more from the Hero atlas, like jump jets or ballistics in each arm.
that would be a bit over the top 100T mech with an AC 20 in each arm that can fly.
I think it should have had a laser in the eye socket, something iconic (pun not intended) like the misery's ballistic hard point or the Heavy metals music.
