Yeah, my definition of Pay to Win is:

If I buy X mech with real money that Y person cannot buy with in-game c-bills, will I have an advantage over that person and what they have access to without real money? The answer is No. There isn't a mech in this game that gives the player a marked advantage over any other.

The benefits are a bonus to XP/CBills, and that's it. Custom paint, swapped around hardpoints, that's it. I die in my heroes all the time....

Atlas: 6 ML's bra-strapped to your torso, one ML in your right hand a a tiny cannon in your left? You're adorable.

Kinda confused on your point....how does ~145 degree swing on a 30-point alpha (6xML basic build) = Bad ?

I was responding in a joking manner to Theta's similar post above. He was pointing out that the Battlemaster, with 7 energy hardpoints, could call the Atlas 'cute.'

I was responding in kind, pointing out that 6 ML mounted on the arms, in my opinion, is superior to 6 in the torso, and the Atlas can fit an AC20, whereas the one Battlemaster we have specs for cannot.

Was it that unclear?

Me on behalf of a part of the playerbase:

WE ARE SORRY

Yes we are sorry, that you can't Alpha strike your boats
we are sorry your 6x PPC or LL it's no longer viable since you can't understand what stagger fire means...
we are sorry for the emotional angst you suffered when you noticed without a massive pinpoint Alpha you can't play this game

I seriously hope you get better, and can either relax and enjoy the game or move along to something less stressfull for you.
We wholehartily desire you the very best and we are seriously concerned in your physical health IT'S NOT WORTH IT so just drop this rage and enjoy your life.

P.S: can we just move along and focus on the Mech theoriced capacities instead whine about a game mechanic who's unrelated to the post?

i know its hard to understand, the guy barely speaks english, but trust me, he is trying his very hardest to be insulting. :)

Yes my post are quite hard to read sometimes and i oftenly screw the proper words and even the verbs.

This said i'll repeat it.

I'm truly sorry for my words.
Didn't want to insult you simply pointing that the mechanics you seem to hate and seems to punish your gameplay are the ones I and others like.

There a group of ppl that like me think those give a better flavour and balance to the game. And i for one i'm sorry that PGI seems to aim at please ppl like me.

Consider this just my formal apology and i hope to meet you along and against in the battlefields.

P.S: now can we return to discuss the opinions on the upcoming Atlas and stop derailing the thread ( myself included)

the thing is though, Perfect World's Zen currency can actually be gotten for free by playing other games and taking advantage of the economy at certain times.

Star Trek Online events give "Dilithium",Which can be converted into Premium Currency (or Zen), which is stored onto the players account to use in different games like NWN.

Perfect World's plan of "Time vs. Money" is pretty ingenious if you ask me. Letting players play other games to get further with one.

-I wonder what would happen in Mechwarrior Online and Mechwarrior Tactics linked up?

I would be all for having a "Universal IGP/Mechwarrior Currency, even tying the IOS game into it. Link your accounts, might even get more exposure for the other MW titles.

Tactics had a dev team that makes PGI look like Star Citizen meets GTA, and the art is just BAD. But New Studio, and things are moving, and as a TT fan, it's actually not bad. Still very limited, but that's because the new Devs, instead of pushing content have pretty quietly been rebuilding the entire back end of the game for stability and such.

ummm, so if you don't like the situation, don't buy it. wohoo!

I'm guessing 95$ USD for an M60 tank in WoT is MUCH more reasonable. Especially since WoT is blatantly P2W.

Yeah, but you gotta remember one thing: To "any serious business Pro-Gamer dude" having those torso mounts on the BLR means that at least two will be devoted to PPC/ERPPC so they can continue to try to milk what is left of the peek tart/hide n snipe meta. The Arm mounted Atlas lasers mean brawling for the most part, and to survive brawling, you actually have to know how to play the game!!!

Quite possibly :) I'm not saying I won't enjoy the hell out of my battlemaster (LPL, 6 ML, AC10 what?), I just see the atlas as having the superior placement of energy slots, even if it has one less.

Granted, all my favorite 'mechs seem to boat mediums...Jenner F, Blackjack 1X, Firebrand...

I'm just glad that now I'll have a couple assaults to follow my favorite pattern. ML's with support dakka ftw ^_^

Yup.

One thing I like about my RS is the 4 large lasers in the arms allow me to have SOME chance to fight off the little buggers if they catch me alone. I figure the way the Boar's Head is described in fluff, Rodney probably doesn't "hold back and snipe or lrm" in his Atlas, but gets right into the thick of it and so needs that arm reflex. Most of the "Competitive Players" probably wanted one more or less based off Cherenkov's, one that "led from the Rear" and so probably would be all LRMs and high mount energy slots in the torso to allow them the to hold back and hide and let the Mediums and Heavies do the real fighting while they pad stats.

Boar's Head hero atlas? Not to be confused with the lesser known Moose Head hero atlas which was piloted by Wayne Gretsky's distant decendant, Wayne Kerensky of the Royal Canadian Mounted Space Patrol. It didn't see a lot of battle, but was often seen going on beer runs after the first period on Hockey Nights. When it was in battle, Wayne was known to apologize profusely over open coms after every kill.

Yea, Battle Master energy mounts will be higher up than the arm mounts on an Atlas. They look to be like the Cataphract height on the BLR.

Yea, don't see it around as much as I did back in the 90's. But more beer options today.
