Since July I m fighting my commun sense to keep playing this game and now this is about the last nail.

What was the point of supporting the game with the fonder's program if those machine are exceeded by some standard variant (Atlas D-DC > Atlas D) and all heels do more cash then them. Now Boar's Head Is the insult to injury! It's an Atlas that has 6 energy hard point on top of 1 ballistic and 1 missile, it will outgun everything, do more credits to the F* Atlas.

What was the freaking point of supporting this game in the first place? I know e had some extras with the package but least respect those who made a gesture supporting yu from the very beginning. Having the option to trade my founder Atlas for this one would make me shut up, but seriously the list of mistakes PGI is making is just getting longer...

Your founder's Atlas is probably significantly better than the Boar's Head. There isn't much the BH can actually do with those energy slots, after all.

True. They are scary, but the ability to mount 2 UAC5's or AC5's and more SRM's is probably more useful in the long run, IMHO. Now, it is unfortunate that the Founder's Atlas gives less of a bonus when playing it...

I've had great luck with: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...fe2544cd3907d1d

The one thing the BH has over the other atlas's (Not just the energy hardpoints) is that a significant amount of it's weapons are located in in it's arms.

Unlike most of the other Atlas's they absolutely were horrible at hill fighting when you couldn't incline or depress your torso enough to bring your guns to bear, the BH almost ignores this by having those energy fists allowing you to still bring a lot of firepower on target with out having to fight to get your torso weapons to track.

This is the build that has worked best for me so far, but I'm still experimenting.

I want to take advantage of the larger engine capacity, just haven't found a mix that I like yet.

Yeah, I was all set to get a BH until I saw the hard points. Not a very exciting mech after all, so I picked up an AS7-D instead to go with my RS and D-DC.

The BH is o.k. That's about it. I've had some great matches with it. I've also had a hell of hard time finding a workable build. 2xLL, 4xML, AC20, 4 tons, STD 350, and all the heatsinks I could cram in it. If you chain fire at time and just manage those lasers, it can be fun. But if I could do it again, I would have waited until they put this thing on sale down the road. I like it, but not for 40 bucks

it's not worth the money, but i still have some fun trying to make it work...

the unique thing about it is it's speed, which is even more fun once u upgrade the skill tree, if u rip out the xl400 you might as well buy the RS or K.

oh, and lazorz.

not true. Have several fun builds with a 375 standard designed. Some with even bigger for giggles. Cbill Atlases can't do that.

But it is a pricey beasty nonetheless. Shame I don't like Fatty Mechs.

Looks cool but I just can't justify the $37.00 for an extra couple energy hard points. I have a Founders Atlas and make an extra 20% with that but if I I didn't have that and if I didn't just buy the Protector I would be interested. That XL engine has to go for sure though. Anytime I see a Boar's Head I am aiming at the R Torso for sure.

Glad you like the sig. Enjoy! :D

That XL is the first thing I took off - speed doesn't mean much when you're dead, and you can't outrun an AC/20 round.

Someone posted this build on the forums, and I've been using it with moderate success.
  • 1 AC/20
  • 2 PPCs
  • 4 Medium Lasers
  • 350 Standard Engine
  • As many double heat sinks as I could fit
I've had some amazing matches, but also some terrible ones. It overheats faster than Fukushima if you Alpha Strike, but 60 points of pinpoint damage is extremely gratifying.

I Figured I would post this build I have been having much success with. Std eng315, Double HS(18), everything else standard. 4 ML, 2 LL, AC20. I also run it with the AMS. 2 LL are chained in group 1, 4 ML and AC20 chained in Group 2. Group three is the alpha strike with all weapons, which i can get off twice before an overheat with all perks even with the hottest maps. On cold maps your gonna be spamming it which can take out most heavies in 2 goes with good aim. This build is very solid but much, much slower coming in at 56kph with perks, as long as you don't get out of position with your team it is a non issue. Able to load 28 AC20 rounds and 2k of AMS ammo. The armor clocks in at 608/614. This is a slight variation of a build that ran 2 PPC's instead of LLzers, but I found the Slightly Less heat/weight of LL along with no Min range seemed like the better option. The build clocks in exactly at 100 tons.

i have now mastered the boars head (along with hbk-4p/sp, stk-3f and a few phracts) and i gotta say it's one of my favorite mechs. i really enjoy it with this loadout: BOAR'S HEAD
