Final scores trivia:

8% has not mastered a single mech.
32% has broken the ice and mastered between one to ten mechs.
24% has made a full commitment to mwo by mastering 11 to 22 mechs.
11% are reaching for the skies to become gods among mechwarrios by mastering 23 to 30 mechs.
25% play this game too much and have over 30 mastered mechs.

A thought that just popped into my head while I was reading some other topic. How many mechs have I actually reached the "master"** rank with in the pilot lab? Well I had to check it out. I currently own 28 mechs (have sold some just recently) and out of those I've reached masters with 23 mechs. Rest are either waiting to max out their elites or singles who have just the basic tier reached due to not having 3 variants.

For example all my 3 hunchies are still stuck at elites, looks like I ran out of interest. And if I recall correctly it happened right when the HSR was added to the game and suddenly my hunchies were taking a bounding from everyone so I stopped playing them. Might finish them one of these days.

Post in how many mechs you own after voting and your 'mastering rate' . Mine is 82% (23/28).

**The module slot doesn't need to be researched. To clarify further, getting all elite perks and having 2X to your basic perks means you've mastered the mech. The 21.5k module slot doesn't need to be researched.

Working on Cicadas and Orions. Don't have ravens, dragons or kintaros yet. Cbill nerf hurts my collecting.

As a filthy scum casual I haven't mastered any one mech because I don't see module slots as a huge boon (because modules are so expensive and I barely have enough C-bills as is) and because I don't have the c-bills to fork over for an extra two highlanders or cataphracts or cicadas.

That's pretty impressive. Which mechs havent you mastered yet? I'll take a guess, commando and cicada because they are bad and orion because its newest?

think my D-DC is the only one, I can't even remember how much it cost me to do that it, it will be a long time before I can master another mech. I was in a rush to get my Atlas upgraded oi!

Cicada isn't that bad. The 3M is pretty good, anyway, and one of my favorites.

For me elite status is more important than mastered.

When you level up all the elite perks, you get 2X to your basic perks which is the whole goal of the exping of the mechs. Getting all elites means you've "mastered" the mech. Like I said in the op, the module slot for 21.5k exp doesn't need to be research.

Only bothered to master the Yen-Lo-Wang and Spider-5D so far. Jenners, Ravens, and Trebuchets are in their Elites. Everything else is in the Basics waiting for one or two more variants to unlock their Elites.

Edit: Well if we're talking just filling out the Elites as mastering then I guess YLW, CN9-D, and -AL, SDR-5D, JR7-D, RVN-3L.

26- out of 34. Not Mastered are my solo treb, cicada, and HGN, which obviously are not elited(though all have 8/8 basic and enough XP to get speed tweak +) I have 3 pults, K2 i just bought a week ago, and once I get the last 3 basics my C1 will have 3/4 elite and my A1 will have speed tweak. That leaves my pretty baby, which I do have Elited, but need roughly 16k for master yet. i just dont play it as much lol.

Think I need like 6k on my Jager A too yet. Been saving some cbills to splurge on DHS for the overlord package coming in a few weeks.
