Thats why I shoot Black Powder. By the time you get 600 rounds down range, CW will be here.

It'll be interesting to see if they at least have the barebones up by next month considering Phoenix pack comes with loyalty boosters, so they'll need to add in systems for that.

Oh boy.
Hey, look at the bright side! New players will get to enjoy using a trial SHS mech against min-maxed custom Daishis and Mad Cats!

MC-only Mad Cats unless you have completed your grind to Level 60 and unlocked the Wolf Dragoon prestige class.
Can't wait for the Mechs of Pandaria expansion pack.

Then there is this community warfare, more like MASSIVE GRIND, You're gonna need to grind loyalty for C-bills AND mechs and equipment. Even worse, it sounds like the guild/platoon/Clan system is basically designed to tax into players grind for them. The only thing you're getting is a cosmetic until there is a reason to have a group. Even worse the system is going to punish larger groups to have to play to keep up with the tax.
There was a system like this in PlanetSide, starwars galaxies and Star conflict. Only problem is those didn't punish players, they simply deleted groups that hadn't been active for X amount of time and offered things to the player from the get-go.
Even worse their system reeks of 4th faction abuse, or in simple terms FOTM houses or factions. Meaning It's going to be the same balancing act we've had this year but with houses and groups. If you're WrestleHogs and afraid of having the lowest population in MWO, fear even more if Steiner or Kurita or who ever gets the FOTM stick. As all of your faction and others jump ship to push the unbalanced group into 70% of the playerbase destroying the galactic map.
My favorite part is they explain the grind and the system they intend to use, BUT WE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE REWARDS ARE. THINK ABOUT THIS, they're telling you we've got a complicated and heavy grind ahead of ourselves and no context to what we get in return.
Will we even get anything? Dropships and assaults on planets are meaningless without an idea on what we're getting out of it. Players are already at the limit of carrot and stick gimmick, if CW doesn't offer anything to the player no one is going to play it.
No one is going to want to be hassled " Hussled? just to have fun.

From their hints, I would guess that the grind rewards include either Clan tech and/or "gold weapons" (aka normal weapons with a manufacturer name slapped on and +x% stat boosts).

In the following 5 years, thats very tight indeed :]
Community Warfare must be here, on the release.
Iam not going to play MWO again ever, until they implement it so we can forget about this horrible grind and arcade 3rd p.v. gameplay.
P.S.

From what I understand, the "tax" is set by the Mercenary Corps leader. This tax drops c-bills into a universal fund that is used to purchase drop-ships, upgrade planetary bases, and probably upkeep bases you already have. The "tax" does NOT go to the developers, I think that misunderstanding needs to be squelched right now. The purpose is to have a way for the Corps to amass funds for contracts and other corps-wide actions and purchases.

I think the tax system is stupid. It may sound cool first, but then you have some kid slap a 50% tax and then you are like "well I guess I'm a lone wolf now". I don't like it when players are given power over other players in an online game where everyone is anonymous.
